i also paid for express shipping and am expecting my order today. Will report back later in case it’s helpful to anyone still thinking about ordering.

AmethystMoonShine · 21/03/2026 08:34

My first order was dispatched really quickly but the one I made later Thursday evening still hasn’t been dispatched. Hoping I might get an email today.
I popped into Dering Street branch yesterday and got one of the Lia boat neck tees in the bright blue. I wasn’t massively impressed with the stock sadly. A few years back I’d have loved several things. I think also the price hikes mean often now at full price a lot of things are out of the question unless I can get them in the sale. Not much home ware either which is a shame. The staff there were lovely yesterday, friendly and helpful.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/03/2026 08:34

Both my parcels are due Monday. Although I now realise the tee I ordered is one I sent back in the previous sale as too small 🙄

Countmeout · 21/03/2026 09:10

Is it a Dering Street issue @AmethystMoonShine . I found that one dark and not very enticing at Christmas. Maybe they need to look at their merchandising.

I am on holiday but still managed to shop the sale. Most will go back I expect . I bought. The roll neck cashmere jumper (on wish list cord apron dress (also wish list) the roll neck cotton top in navy stripe and the quilted ecru trousers.

Snowyowl78 · 21/03/2026 09:28

@IlovePond ive tried a few toast jumpers as my husband has quite a few. I would go down one size. I can get away with wearing some of his which would be my toast size in the ladies, ie usually medium but they look pretty sloppy. So I would buy the small. The issue would be on the shoulders but a lot of them don’t have fixed shoulder seams if you know what I mean so that isn’t an issue usually. The other things I find with men’s clothes is sometimes they have a higher tighter neck, which I don’t like and sometimes not enough hip room but with these jumpers I don’t think that’s a problem.

ScallopShellWalk · 21/03/2026 09:50

I couldn’t resist another look at the sale and now I have also ordered the lofty alpaca jumper that I had liked but told myself the season had passed. Don’t know whether to be happy or guilty 😃. The jumper looks lovely though and the price is too good to pass.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:00

Thanks @Snowyowl78 - yes, men’s jumpers are often too narrow for me on the hips and I agree about the necklines.

I am very tempted by the men’s cardigan in particular for some reason. I don’t do stripes, so who knows why I am drawn to it!

Still no shipping notification for me.

What is this red jumper people are talking about? I missed a lot of the sale due to not going online until 7, so perhaps it sold out before I got to it!

@IlovePond for me when I mentioned the red jumper I was referring to the manos one with the lighter coloured sleeves. It was really appealing to me over winter but I felt it was too expensive and since I have gone off red in the last few years, I could hardly understand why I kept thinking I wanted it.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:13

Is that the men’s @ScallopShellWalk ?

Thanks

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:15

I wish I had ordered the oversized cashmere jumper rather than the alpaca, and now it’s OOS in M😿

OP posts:
ScallopShellWalk · 21/03/2026 10:20

@IlovePond no, the red was the women’s but the men’s was the purpley one. I’d have preferred the purpley one myself. I am not at all confident a man’s jumper would look good on me. I think it’d be too much around the shoulder/chest area and then the sleeves may droop because of having narrower shoulders. With definitely thinner arms I think the jumper arms would be too baggy too. I’ve got a small frame.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:25

Thanks @ScallopShellWalk - it’s sold out now, but I think I know the one you mean.

ScallopShellWalk · 21/03/2026 10:26

@IlovePond I too wondered about the oversized cashmere. The xs was still avail and since it’s oversized maybe the measurements might be worth checking. Or maybe hope for a return. I think it looks lovely and dithered over this one a lot. In the end I feel the extra long arms would get in the way of my life and the cuffs look wide. Beautiful but I’d be constantly folding them up. In the end I chose the alpaca one as it too looks lovely but normal sleeves.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:29

I’ve made a note of the code @ScallopShellWalk and if I send everything else back I might contact toast to see if they have a M when the returns start being processed.

It might be @Countmeout , it is a small store and with the usual Toast ‘sparse’ approach to merchandising I think ends up somewhat lacking. I had to ask for the tee I bought as it wasn’t on display in any size. I’d ordered on online and the recommended by Toast size was too tight across my bust, so I knew exactly what size I wanted. The assistant was lovely and popped downstairs to fetch it for me.
They must miss so many sales with this approach though?!

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 10:47

Not having all the stock on the shelves is ridiculous @AmethystMoonShine - Toast must lose so many customers. Not everyone is comfortable asking for things, and not everyone is familiar with what stock should be available.

I frequently get treated like a prospective shoplifter in Toast, (people may remember my previous posts on this subject), so I am not a huge fan of communicating with the staff at the best of times.

Given how poorly I have been treated by Toast staff in the past, it’s a wonder I still shop there. I used to go in the shops wearing Toast thinking that might help, but this backfired as one time they actually thought I had stolen the t-shirt I came in wearing 🙈

Small homewear restock and have gone for the sand aria cushion cover. @mizu @ScallopShellWalk I had my eye on the Manos red jumper for a while, but too expensive full price. I also have the Manos galaxy tank and beanie hat from a while ago in the sale and really love them so much. I really like the company and have made wooly blankets from their spaced dyed Franca wool. I am hoping the jumper works out. I also liked the mens version but fear my hips would be a barrier to a decent fit. A few years ago I grabbed the mens Blackhorse Road denim coach jacket from Toast in small. Its a good fit if ever so slightly off if all the buttons are done up. I used to live and teach in Walthamstow where BHR is based so was quite determined for some sentimental reason. I am usually a toast medium in jackets and jumpers.

ScallopShellWalk · 21/03/2026 11:55

@Primrosespaw thanks for highlighting the home items. I’m so so glad I’ve no money left 🤣
I used to live in Walthamstow. I never knew about the denim.

Countmeout · 21/03/2026 12:15

Re the oversized cashmere which is the one I ordered I think . I ordered small usually go for M in knitwear as it was supposed to be very oversized per reviews and I looked at the measurements. Mines not due until Tuesday.

Yes very helpful about bringing stuff up in Dering Street.
The clothes are slightly dull at the moment it seems. Maybe high summer will improve things. We must be due a proper summer drop , there’s always a drop after a sale (just when you’ve spent all your money)
I love summer clothes and have far too many for our climate but can’t keep away from them. Massimo Dutti is massively attractive to me here at the moment and seems cheap by comparison. Lots to tempt in the flesh.

MiracleToast · 21/03/2026 12:30

Does anyone have the lofty alpaca high neck jumper in the stone? I’m trying to work out what sort of grey this is, the black and white photos are not that helpful!

ScottishMouse · 21/03/2026 13:05

My order arrived and it is a total sale fail!
The long alpaca cardi is finished badly, the rolled hems just look cheap. Also, one sleeve is 5 inches longer than the other…wtf?!
The charcoal poncho is much much smaller than my navy & biscuit ones. I wonder if these have stretched, but surely only on width not in length. Not sure I’ll risk keeping.
The double breasted jacket is far too small on the shoulders in my usual 12. The 14 is better (though still a bit tight) but is far too long in the body and sleeves.
The charcoal mohair cardi that I returned last sale is a maybe, but now that the weather is too warm for it, I wonder if I should return and see what next winter brings instead.
The new hemp t-shirts are ridiculously big. I am usually M but sometimes order L in T-shirts as I don’t want them to cling. I would need S in this. But I won’t reorder as the sleeves are a funny length (past my elbow but baggy and wide so quite unflattering), and the fabric is very thin and insubstantial.
My order arrived shoved into a box too small for the contents so it had completely burst open on one side.
All in all not very impressed. I have had way more fails than successes over the last few months, which is disappointing.

mizu · 21/03/2026 13:11

@Primrosespaw I will no doubt regret not buying the jumper come autumn!

AFingerofFudge · 21/03/2026 13:54

@ScottishMousethat’s interesting what you say about the box- mine is the same. It arrived about half an hour ago with the highest bulge on the top and one side ripped.

The culotte jumpsuit- it’s ok, but I reminded myself I have 2 other jumpsuits from Toast that I like but don’t often wear because of the impractability- return

Embroidered shirt- huge, and a drab colour - return

The red jumper - absolutely stunning, but going back as £220 is just too much money for me at the moment 😭

Heathery jumper in ginger - drab colour - return.

Vespertine column dress- surprisingly gorgeous, it hangs and moves beautifully, will consult DS3 on this later, he is my fashion advisor - possibly keep

The high neck lofty alpaca jumper- gorgeous, timeless, and may keep if I don’t keep the dress

I need to pack that red jumper back into the collapsing box before I change my mind!

AFingerofFudge · 21/03/2026 13:55

@MiracleToast it’s quite a pale grey, really lovely colour.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/03/2026 14:28

I would recommend anyone receiving an overfilled box that is split should take a photo and send this on to toast. I’ve had some poorly packed full price deliveries lately.

The replacement dress I was sent was really crumpled and looked as if it was a return sent straight back out as even the tissue was screwed up. Luckily the dress itself is ok now I’ve ironed it, but even sale items shouldn’t be sent out badly packaged.
