I’ve ordered more than I thought I would, but no doubt most will go back - the double breasted jacket, the long lofty alpaca cardigan, the charcoal mohair cardigan which I returned in the last sale but still think about, and another poncho because they are fabulous and I love them for everything from a warm layer over my pjs in the morning to a fancy layer adorned with a brooch for a night out. I also added the new hemp tee with the rolled edge at the neck in both colours which look super useful for summer if the shape is good.

ScallopShellWalk · 19/03/2026 22:35

I did go back in and bought another hat 🙈. The hat came up earlier in my search for sale stuff. However it’s a reworn hat that doesn’t come under the reworn section it also doesn’t come under any section I see but only if I search for hat. Kind of makes me wonder what else is hiding in there.

Saurus72 · 20/03/2026 03:33

I’ve been insomnia-shopping 🙄, bought the forest marl neat jumper. I have a few in different colours and must say I love them so pleased to add this.

IlovePond · 20/03/2026 08:50

One thing I don’t like about these mini sales, is that by the time your order has arrived, the sale has ended and it’s too late to order alternatives or bigger sizes. I know you can try contacting CS but it’s a faff and not always successful.

No shipping notification as yet for me. The last time I ordered at 4pm on a Thursday and my order didn’t arrive until the middle of the following week. I’m expecting the same again this time.

I have found that the only way around this @IlovePond is to pay for express delivery. Which, depending on what you’ve ordered, diminishes the win of the sale.

IlovePond · 20/03/2026 09:07

That’s true @ScottishMouse - I will just have to be patient. I don’t ‘need’ any of what I have ordered, so if it all goes back, so be it. In the event of me loving something but needing a different size I would try wrangling with CS!

@ScottishMouse i have that jacket bought it at full price! I have ordered a spare to live at work. Oh dear. I can advise that it is really really nice I have been wearing it a lot. I got the 12 which is normal for me. It’s quite wide at the bottom and very cool. Doesn’t look like it’s sold too well, probably due to the extreme price! I’ve only bought that and also the black waistcoat which is full price.

ScottishMouse · 20/03/2026 09:30

Thanks @Snowyowl78 i ordered two sizes, because who can tell, 12 and 14. I am usually 12/M so hopefully one will fit. I think it could be super useful.

hicat · 20/03/2026 09:31

Oopsie I missed the email but saw a good things to try this morning. The quilted shirt has come down to a reasonable price and I am so glad to try it (I have the matching trousers). Also going to try the cream version of the trousers but as my belly is rounder than ever it’ll be hard to tell what fits haha. I also really liked the look of the Donegal wool v neck cardigan. Reviews all say size down but i do like oversized… my credit card wasn’t up for buying two sizes so we’ll see! Also trying the tretorn rubber boots, but wondering if they’re just expensive wellies… my upper feet dislike very firm roofs so might not suit either way.

most excited about the shirt and the cardigan. Thank goodness for this group or the email would have slipped me by!

faustina · 20/03/2026 09:43

It is annoying about the short window they give us in which to order - also the irritating code thing, which I've noticed on a few other sites too. I had another look this morning and there are some other things I'd have liked to try but only one size left, and I'm very envious of people who found curtains - I totally missed those!

ScallopShellWalk · 20/03/2026 12:05

I have dispatch emails for all my sale purchases yesterday. Not for the hat in reworn that I ordered later in the day.

IlovePond · 20/03/2026 12:06

Still nothing in my inbox😿

@hicat i ca vouch for both the cardigan and the boots. I went with my normal
size in the cardigan and it is one of my best Toast purchases in ages. I love it!
I have had the boots in black for a few years and they are great. So much better than standard wellies as they are lined with neoprene which means they are warm and comfy. I wear them on very wet days or if I will be somewhere missy instead of my Blundstones and they are just as comfy.

CakeAndJazz · 20/03/2026 12:54

Just the Donegal cardigan for me. I’ve had my eye on it all winter and know you’ve really enjoyed yours @ScottishMouse. Am just hoping the grey is ever so warm toned (and that it’ll fit obviously). Hope you have success with yours @hicat.

Primrosespaw · 20/03/2026 14:04

The red manos hand knit jumper, navy kantha waistcoat and blue cord Baya shirt for me. There seems to be a distinct lack of home wear in the sales these days

ScottishMouse · 20/03/2026 17:18

@CakeAndJazz to my eye the cardigan is a warm toned rather than cool toned grey. I hope it’s a hit for you.

ShanghaiDiva · 20/03/2026 19:09

Ordered the alpaca collar sweater in ink blue. Dd is coming home on the train next week so no need to collect her via a mooch around Kilver Court. Inconsiderate child of mine.

Popplebop · 20/03/2026 19:16

Oooh ok so I went slightly mad and ordered the Sturlini monk shoes, (another) poncho, Gia paintbox shirt and Baya shirt in the blue. All on my wish list and I already have the Baya shirt in cream. We will see!

mizu · 20/03/2026 20:38

@Primrosespaw that red jumper is so lovely. I’m very tempted as the reviews are very positive but it’s still expensive despite the price dropping quite a lot.

ScallopShellWalk · 20/03/2026 21:16

Yes I liked the red jumper all winter and hoped I’d buy it in the sale but I haven’t. I’m not sure I really want red now and as you say it is still expensive. It is lovely and I’m almost a bit sad to leave it in the shop. I did buy the alpaca long cardigan which is around the same price so it’s not just the cost that’s stopping me. I think I’ve enjoyed admiring it but I realise it’s not quite right for me.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 07:15

Still no shipping notification for me!

I can’t get on with Toast’s current very short in the body boxy jumpers and it’s just occurred to me that the men’s might be better for me.

I love the look of the stripy cardigan and the Brown Shetland wool jumper. (I also love the review of the cardigan that calls it the ‘Stephen Fry of garments’)

Has anyone ever bought a jumper from the men’s collection for their own use? If so, did you size up or down or buy your usual size?

Thanks

ScallopShellWalk · 21/03/2026 07:39

I have RM notifications that my toast items will arrive Monday, except the reworn hat which I haven’t heard about at all yet.

@IlovePond I haven’t tried men’s jumpers but I tried the Frankie coat by mistake and it was bigger. Yesterday my son came to me in the kitchen asking to swap the jeans from his drawer (mine) to the ones I was wearing (his), I’d gotten them mixed up 😃 and had his on and they were def bigger. So for me to wear the same size in men’s, I’d be enjoying a bigger, looser fit. There are some really nice men’s jumpers and I don’t think they sell out as fast. The purpley manos jumper looks appealing to me more than the red one.

ScottishMouse · 21/03/2026 07:40

I tried a men’s cardigan once but didn’t buy @IlovePond I think I probably tried xs and s, I would buy m in women’s. I am only 5’2” and have short arms and I found xs to be too narrow in the body, s to be better but on both the length and particularly the arm length was way off. So I think it depends on how tall you are, how long your arms are, and probably if you have a significant bust (for jumpers, maybe not so crucial for a cardigan). Worth a punt maybe.

IlovePond · 21/03/2026 07:54

Thanks @ScallopShellWalk and @ScottishMouse - I don’t usually do well with men’s jumpers nowadays due to the bust issue - usually they are too tight in the chest but far too big on the shoulders.

I have a men’s Uniqlo tee in L and a men’s Xmas jumper from M&S in M and usually wear M in women’s Toast if that’s any guide🤷‍♀️

I am tempted to order a M in the brown Shetland and the cardie just to try. However, I wish I hadn’t ordered the alpaca jumper now - it’s a lot of money off my cc if I order these two items as well!

I also like the Manos men’s jumper, but it looked short and boxy on the guy in the Live, and the arms were huge, so it’s probably not for me.

AFingerofFudge · 21/03/2026 08:16

My order is arriving today, I paid the extra for quick postage as I’m going away midweek and couldn’t take the risk.

Have ordered the heathery sweater in ginger, the lofty alpaca high neck, the culotte jumpsuit, vespertine column dress, the red sweater (probably amazing but too expensive really) and the embroidered mini stripe shirt.

I always order loads and then decide, I put it on PayPal credit so the money doesn’t actually come out of my account.
