Cotton leggings. Comfortable and squidge down small so you can keep a pair of shorts in your hand luggage and change when you land.

Sweaty Betty yoga pants

I have these. Really soft and comfy. I’ve worn them on a few flights now. https://www.bershka.com/gb/soft-touch-wide-leg-trousers-c0p209121389.html?colorId=800

Any elasticated waist, jersey style wide leg trousers ….super comfy and smartish too x

noidea02 · 19/01/2026 21:29

I like the Bershka and Me&Em ones thank you! I’d quite like something along those lines but with pockets too. If that’s possible!

Yes that’s what I’m after I think. But going round in circles googling!

When we travelled to Thailand I wore grey, straight leg joggers which had pockets. They were just from asda, I think.

I’d recommend nine pine asana pants. Super comfy, ‘elastic’ waist that doesn’t look elastic and big pockets, super soft without being too warm. I wear them for all flights including to Australia. They look reasonably smart too.

Long trousers dragging on the plane toilet floor is not good though 🤮

Me+Em palazzo pants - £68 and super comfy but also chic

I was looking at these today in store! Gorgeous, comfy and so flattering!

(in looking for something else and didn’t buy them. I’ll probably regret it!)

OhDear111 · 19/01/2026 22:15

I roll mine up! Only had an issue once though. M&S have a good selection of casual trousers with elastic waists.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 19/01/2026 22:19

Jersey tapered trousers. I think mine are from Next and M&S. Dark colour - I always drop food and drink on my lap on planes.

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 20/01/2026 01:17

If you're prepared to spend, Lululemon's Daydrift pants. They are light and breathable enough that you won't have to change/risk dying of heat exhaustion on arrival in Thailand.

Just great for travel in general, really, as they're smart but light and don't need ironing.

nocoolnamesleft · 20/01/2026 01:30

Something that won't pool round your ankles on the disgusting floor of the plane toilet?

Cando6 · 20/01/2026 04:59

Just back from a 10.5 hr flight and can confirm it’s a uniform of wide leg black stretchy pants out there. I wore my usual linen mix wide legs as they’re useful once you’re there for nights out etc.
Don’t forget slip on or easy lace up shoes and some socks for the flights. And a fleecy type top you can use as a pillow.
