LNDR leggings. Sports leggings so won’t be stupid hot when you get off the plane. Lots of them have pockets that are slim line / not baggy to keep things secure and I keep my phone in one side and passport in the other.

I like the Bershka and Me&Em ones thank you! I’d quite like something along those lines but with pockets too. If that’s possible!

The bershka ones have pockets 😀

Something that won't pool round your ankles on the disgusting floor of the plane toilet?

This is why I'd always choose cuffed trousers over wide-legged.

thedevilinablackdress · 20/01/2026 07:59

Yep, always cuffed joggers!

ShodAndShadySenators · 20/01/2026 08:42

I've a pair of loose linen trousers from Next I wear for flights. Very comfy to wear and warm enough for the UK and in flight (I feel the cold a lot) and still cool and comfortable for gloriousy warm climates. I don't often use the toilet on planes but I wouldn't want the hems dragging on floors or the ground either. (Trying not be tempted by any of the linked ones...)

Ohnobackagain · 20/01/2026 08:51

@noidea02 although the airport is air-conditioned, the heat will heat like a wall outside. The thin baggy ‘harem’ pants you can buy cheap on the street in Thailand with the shirring elastic are ideal (not helpful as you are not there yet but to give you an idea). Not close fitting. Also consider some of the long leg knickers if you have any chance of thighs rubbing (you can wear under long skirts too). On the plane, flip flops are great to change into so you can let your feet do what they need to (some airlines give hotel slippers in Economy and up). Have a fab trip!

Occasionalcyclist · 20/01/2026 10:31

I have some "original harem pants" from Forgotten Tribes. Shirred elasticated waist, elasticated ankles so no hems dragging on plane toilet floors, lots of choices of patterns or plain colours. Very comfortable. I'm on the shorter side but they still fit well, the elastic waist comes up quite high on me but I don't mind that.
The only downside is the pockets, they only have one patch pocket on the side of one thigh

Try elastic waistband linen trousers with pockets, but not wide leg/ long ones - nothing worse than the bottom of your trousers dragging on the airplane bathroom floor! Linen and relaxed fit are nice for long haul flights when the body swells, and also versatile for in the heat in Thailand and boat trips. I had something similar to this style for Thailand (but not these exact ones)

I tend to wear SB power leggings. I wore wide leg slouchy leggings the last time but had to go through quite a faff in the loo to not let them touch the floor.

HoppingPavlova · 20/01/2026 10:47

I always use yoga pants. Def not flattering as I’m a fattie, but comfort absolutely rules for me. I roll up pants to above knee level outside the toilet (so extra glam🤣) as don’t want the risk then let them down when I come out.

elastamum · 20/01/2026 10:56

Those me and em pants are lovely but I bought some very similar ones from Sainsbury's for £14. Wore them driving across Europe last week. Very comfy and also smart.

Queenage · 20/01/2026 10:58

I have these and a sweatshirt in black as my long haul outfit. The fabric seems to repel stains and it’s so comfy and soft. Has pockets and they drip dry and don’t need ironing https://www.julesb.co.uk/product/varley-the-wide-leg-30-trousers-845302?gad_campaignid=22238174060&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC9C8pSbxVFgLwiw07D_Vz0kRJ71y&utm_campaign=SS25&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&variant=11410-13076

Long trousers dragging on the plane toilet floor is not good though 🤮

I was just about to say that, these elasticated long legged and wided legged trousers are always suggested for plane travel, I have learned painful lessons of making sure whatever trousers I wear 'hold up' by themselves when in the loo and dont drag on the floor, not just the plane but airport toilets/transport on the way there and from airport as well

Justploddingonandon · 20/01/2026 11:15

I wore some tie waist harem trousers as elasticated waists always roll down on me. I like them as you can undo the tie for sleeping (just remember to tie it if you get up!)

Noshadelamp · 20/01/2026 11:19

Don't go for wide leg, too much excess material that risks contact with suspect liquids in the airplane loos.

I went to Australia in their summer and wore m&s cuffed yoga pants on the plane with a spare pair of cotton leggings in my carry on bag.
I changed into cotton trousers when I arrived.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 20/01/2026 11:40

We're flying at 10pm when we go and I'm tempted to wear pjs or something as close as possible to pjs - loungewear, certainly.

Imabitbusyatthemoment · 20/01/2026 11:55

As PP, I’d recommend avoiding wide leg due to the state of the toilet floors.

YourBrickTiger · 20/01/2026 11:58

Loose what I call apartment pants from Primark - cotton, swing your pants. Lovely.

XiCi · 20/01/2026 13:10

@curious79 what is the leg length like on the Me&Em? They look floor length on the 5ft 8 model and I'm 5ft 5 . I really like the look of them but I can't be bothered if they'll need to be altered

SliceofTosst · 20/01/2026 13:14

Good old leggings for a flight. Comfie, practical and not too hot or cold.

Catpuss66 · 20/01/2026 13:39

I haven’t bought any but lots of different comfy styles from Halara.

thedogdaysareover51 · 20/01/2026 13:46

I am flying long haul soon and plan on wearing the Me and Em palazzo pants linked above. I’ve also got a navy pair from Me and Em that are much looser, have a wide elastic waist and pockets which I may wear instead. To those saying what about the toilet floor-I probably go to the toilet twice in the flight and just pull the trousers up to my knees when I’m sitting on the toilet-easy! I’d rather wear nice trousers and be inconvenienced when I’m in the loo two or three times.

This. Leggings or something with a cuff.

A summer dress and cardigan with leggings which you can whip off at the destination works well if you're a dress person.
