Removing pubic hair

bluedabadeedabadoo · 05/01/2026 11:52

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

I never take it all off. Occasionally I trim it short with a lady shaver but as im lazy that doesn't happen often. If removing it causes issues why not just leave it alone?

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 05/01/2026 11:56

It's so cold, I'm growing all the hair I can for warmth.

Glitchymn1 · 05/01/2026 11:57

Epilator? It’s just cleaner and smoother.

WhatIsTheCharge · 05/01/2026 12:00

I’ve tried it all over the years and always come back to waxing.

The first one hurts….but after that? Really not that bad at all. The hair grows back much slower and more sparsely than with other methods. I had my very first one done at a salon, but then I can keep on top of it every 4-6 weeks at home.

GallonHat · 05/01/2026 12:00

Why not just leave it alone? Save time, money, angst and risk of infection.

Badslipperluck · 05/01/2026 12:04

Epilator around the edges every so often, bikini trimmer/shaver in the shower for the rest when I can be bothered, gets it pretty smooth. Weirdly doesn't itch like razor regrowth for me.

Oof, I tried home waxing mine once, never again 😅 maybe I wasn’t doing it right, or maybe I’m a wimp, but either way it was so painful for me, I only managed a couple of strips and gave up. I used to get monthly waxes at a salon, but it became too much of an effort.

I’ve always wanted to try an epilator but also heard that’s quite painful..?

I have a Phillips wet and dry electric shaver. It’s ok, but definitely not as smooth as I’d like. I don’t get shaving bumps though.

HostaCentral · 05/01/2026 12:11

Leave it alone, or wait until you hit menopause and it all falls out 😂

bluedabadeedabadoo · 05/01/2026 12:13

Thanks. Yes I could leave it alone but I feel more comfortable during sex to not have any.

Strip wax definitely hurts more!
I got a hot wax pot, the type that hardens on the skin and you don’t need a strip. Works a charm and is much gentler than strip wax.

And I suppose at this point, I’ve been doing it so long, I’m pretty desensitised to it now! I rarely take everything off these days, just keep it neat and tidy!

Belladog1 · 05/01/2026 12:14

I use an electric shaver. I use the trimmer for the main 'bit' and then take off the trimmer bit and close shave the sides and the undercarriage.

I use a Phillips shaver. I have a Braun which I use on my legs, but that brought me out in a rash anywhere else.

Thindog · 05/01/2026 12:16

Just plait it and add a red ribbon.

crazeekat · 05/01/2026 12:22

I use my husbands when he has pissed me off

Cherrytree86 · 05/01/2026 12:25

Those posters telling OP to leave it alone…POINTLESS comments. she evidently doesn’t want to leave it alone does she or she wouldn’t be asking!!

JustMyView13 · 05/01/2026 12:29

Get laser.
But don’t waste your money on IPL (which is what a lot of people who say it doesn’t work get). You want a proper medical grade laser hair removal, professionally done. It’s not cheap, but then nor is waxing - you will make your money back over time.
You will need to get someone good though, who has a laser suitable for your specific hair and skin pigment.

MiddleChildX · 05/01/2026 12:30

Hot wax is the answer. Don’t let anyone near you with warm wax and strips, a torture that firmly belongs back in the 90s!!

Because she wants to.

OP, I do good ol' fashioned shaving.

Another one. She wants rid.

2026x · 05/01/2026 12:39

Waxing or laser treatment is the only way. Shaving is horrendous and electric shaving will just give you stubble.

😱

You epilate the whole lot? I can't even do my legs.

Just grows on your chin instead 😂😂

Mapleunicorn · 05/01/2026 12:50

Philips Lumea. It’s great.

reversingdumptruckwithnotyreson · 05/01/2026 12:54

Shaving while doing home IPL.

Before that I used to get a monthly Hollywood waxing.

Salvadoridory · 05/01/2026 12:58

Agree proper grade laser. Haven't had a pube for about 10 years.

Anyone been on to call her husband a paedo yet 🙄

Mapleunicorn · 05/01/2026 12:50

Philips Lumea. It’s great.

How does it work? Is it like an epilator? Is it pain free?

TIA
