Removing pubic hair

Good morning all. How is everyone removing pubic hair nowadays (all of it).
I usually use removal cream but I’m overly sensitive and have come out in lots of red spots.
Shaving brings me out in red spots.
I don’t fancy waxing. Are there any other options out there?
Perhaps the electric shavers? What are they like, do they offer a close shave?
Home laser treatment- how does this work with public hair?

The day men are willing to cover their ball sacks in hot wax and rip their pubes out for us, that's when I'll think about it.

I would also be really uncomfortable with someone who wanted me to look like an 8 year old down there!

BigButtons · 05/01/2026 13:02

I don’t shave all mine off but I have found the lines excellent at getting rid of the edges and keeping things tidy. It just doesn’t grow back.

Notarealblonde · 05/01/2026 13:09

I have a full on bush right now, the beauty of being single and not giving a damn.
mind, i do need to do something!

Agree proper grade laser. Haven't had a pube for about 10 years.

Anyone been on to call her husband a paedo yet 🙄

We made it to 1pm before the first paedo implication arrived 🙄

I think this person was referring to the fact that no one had suggested this although I have had a comment from someone about not wanting to be with someone who said they would feel uncomfortable about being with someone who wanted them to look like an 8 year old down there 🙄

Where have I stated that I do this because it’s something that someone else wants me to do? Why can’t this just be about my choice and this be respected without such comments being made?

Phillips lumea! At home IPL. Good if you’ve got dark hair, if you have light hair not so much. Doesn’t hurt me really, some places give a little sting.

NoWinnersOnlyLosers · 05/01/2026 13:35

I agree laser is the way forward, although expensive.

AgnesMcDoo · 05/01/2026 13:36

I'm as nature intended. Its healthier and easier.

TeenLifeMum · 05/01/2026 13:38

My braun IPL after shaving is fab - only works if you have dark hair and light skin, otherwise you have to go to a professional.

midgetastic · 05/01/2026 13:39

Why don’t we think it’s just your personal choice?

Because it’s a strange choice to make ? It’s unhealthy and painful and yet you still want to persist ?

if you were self harming it would be seen as a bad thing. Why is this not self harming? What makes this ok?

Branleuse · 05/01/2026 13:41

Shaving, but you need to make sure it's a fresh razor quite often.
If it gives you spots then either the razor isn't sharp enough anymore or you're trying to get shave too close.

😂😂😂😂

Is the hairdresser self harm too??

wannanamechange · 05/01/2026 13:43

I used home IPL on mine. The bits I haven’t IPL (because I don’t want no pubic hair forever) I just shave.

I haven’t said it’s painful. It isn’t a strange choice to make. Lots of people choose to removal all of their pubic hair.

Ffs.. its the OPs choice.. people saying leave it alone. Or comments about doing it for her partner or looking like a child..
I started doing mine 40 years ago ( im 67) Because l had endometriosis and very very very heavy blood flow that l wore extra large tampon a pad and a nappy ( yes l cut the inside of a nappy.. ) the blood was that bad.. it would leak through it all and get into my pubes.. that's why l started shaving ( luckily total hysterectomy put an end to that age 38) .. also l swam a lot and still do.. go on holiday a lot.. don't want pubes showing in my costume. So still shave .. l use Venus and im okay with a Venus shave).

I must have self harmed when I went through child birth.

wishingonastar101 · 05/01/2026 13:45

Please don't IPL your fanny... your going to get older and as a woman nearing my 50's I would feel weird with a totally bald, baby bits.

Just wax up the sides, trim the front... lovely.

OMG to the person who can epilate... woah foof of steal.

ISpyNoPlumPie · 05/01/2026 13:46

I don’t remove all my hair. I use a bikini line trimmer/shaver. Sometimes.

How is it more comfortable during sex if your skin is sensitive and covered in red spots?

Of course you can exercise your choice, but you can’t pretend that there isn’t a misogynistic context within which you’re making that choice. And also, let’s just be honest, this isn’t a good choice for anyone’s body. Every form of hair removal particularly in the pubic region, involves pain, expense, ingrowing hairs, and rashes. The hair is meant to be there.

crumpet · 05/01/2026 13:48

I don’t. All off is aesthetically displeasing to me. Not a fan at all.

You don’t have to IPL all of it, you know….

I have done mine into a standard high leg wax. So basically any hair that shows if I was wearing a high leg thong. I don’t want hair on my inner thighs, around my bum hole, or poking out the sides of my knickers. That hair has been dealt with permanently. I do, however, want hair on my mons pubis and labia, so that remains. Sometimes I shave or trim it, but I never wax or IPL it.
