Oh I'll have a look. Are there any others you can recommend trying?

Legato is beautiful if you like cherry, it reminds me of a less beast-mode Angel by Mugler. I also really like Le Cedre and they have some great springy fragrances especially Le Feuille and Tea Tonique.

Vilhelm Darling Nikki for a day at the football for me today. Really picking up the leather notes today

IDontHateRainbows · 28/02/2026 10:57

Bdk 312 st honore today which is a lovely scent from bdk, this house is so under rated but I do enjoy quite a few of their scents, along with rouge smoking and gris charnel.

This is a lovely uplifting scent for spring.

The dabber has a big aperture so I accidentally poured more than intended on my hand, not that im too fussed as im happy to go around smelling of this all day.

commodity juice bold. Not bold really but fruity. Going to do rose noir Byredo in afternoon as it’s nearly done and is a 4 hr one on me.

My Miller Harris fave is Rose en noir and schernzo (and any of those candles back in the day when expensive candles came out).

Tried Vanilla Powder (Matiere Premiere) yesterday at the new Covent Garden store and straight to plastic :( So headed to Lush for another go at The Bees Knees (Lush) which was delicious - honey, beeswax, and smoky hay, perfect for warm days (I realise this is the greatest compliment I can pay a scent).

Looking forward to the next Ffern round - find I love their summer and autumn scents, hate winter, and spring is fine but not knock-out, but the notes for Spring 26 look promising.

IDontHateRainbows · 28/02/2026 16:05

I have had the plastic thing from vanilla powder but maybe my nose has adapted as I rarely get it now! So strange how our noses work. I do rate VP particularly the extrait but there are other just as good vanilla, vanilla haze or vanilla factory, for less ££

Ooh I love that one! Hope you’ve had fun at the football!

My SOTE is JPG La Belle Le Parfum to go out for a meal with friends. My other favourite ‘going out’ perfumes are L’Inderdit Rouge and Shay & Blue Black Tulip or Nashwa.

TheFutureIs · 28/02/2026 17:13

Unfortunately it wasn’t our day @Maddyandme
But at least I smelt nice! Shay & Bkue Black Tulip is gorge!

MotherWol · 28/02/2026 19:05

I’m on a quest for a green woody spa-like fragrance that will make me feel like I’m in a Japanese onsen, so sampled Le Labo Eucalyptus 20 and Jo Malone Hinoki and Cypress today. Jo Malone wasn’t it but LL is quite nice, could be a contender, so will be stalking a travel size on Vinted.

IDontHateRainbows · 28/02/2026 19:13

Fig erotique+ oriana are my sot evening.
Both lovely, FE has the edge!

Lurkingshark · 28/02/2026 19:52

@MotherWol have you looked at Aesop? I like their scents and they are woody/incensey/spa. There are discovery sets but quite a few fancy shops/ concessions about to smell IRL. Or Ode Ona (was in a liberty kit so they must stock them - the vibe on their main website is vaguely East Asian spa).

SOTE maison crivelli neroli nasimba which I hated at first and now love the different notes through it. I’m no buying but I’d happily go down a research rabbit hole on them.

MotherWol · 28/02/2026 21:10

@Lurkingshark I like Hwyl, it’s got that church in the middle of a Norwegian forest vibe that I like! I don’t love that Aesop don’t do travel sizes as I don’t think I’d wear it often enough for a full bottle, but the discovery set is on my birthday list 😊

CorneliaStreet · 28/02/2026 21:37

@Maddyandme Shay & Blue Black Tulip is my going out perfume too (also Black Opium and Armani Si). I think I’ve had more compliments about Black Tulip than any other of my perfumes.

82blue · 28/02/2026 23:13

SOTD is Peony Couture Vilhelm. A lovely floral. A sample from one of the liberty kits.

Doglover73 · 28/02/2026 23:20

Sotd estee lauder beautiful. Sote dedcool taunt 01 really love this. Very comforting for the evening.

Maddyandme · 01/03/2026 08:14

Glad I’m in good company as a Black Tulip fan, it’s a trusted staple in my collection! Shay & Blue have some good offerings, especially their noir line. Has anyone tried their new wild roses one?

@MotherWol have you tried Diptyque Tam Dao? It’s more woody than green, but very ‘zen’. Described as: “Memories of Asia. In the depths of the jungle, the ancient trees intertwine. The magnificence of precious Goa Sandalwood and the brittle dryness of Cedar, blended with the sparkle of exotic spices and the warmth of amber.”

potplantsinparadise · 01/03/2026 10:41

@IDontHateRainbows Body chemistry is so strange - would love to find that perfect vanilla perfume for me, but 99% of them go to plastic and the only one that "works" so far is Lush 'Sticky Dates' which is more of a punch-in-the-face burned caramel (still love it though).

@MotherWol Watching with interest - Hwyl and LL Eucalyptus are my only photorealistic Japanese sauna scents, but would love to find more (Tam Dao is perfectly pleasant but more of a classy sandelwood than onsen).

See I'm the other way around, hate caramel in perfume and majorly annoyed that the new good girl has strong caramel notes!

I've given myself a massive headache today by overly huffing Crivelli Ambre Chromatique. This is a beautiful amber but very strong and has set off a bit of a headache (nothing to do with last night's wine, oh no!)

In other news, ordered the CB edit mainly to sell as it's good value, but I may keep the kayali pistachio and looking forward to trying some of the BTSO.

Cult Beauty have a new scent edit out today £40

QueefofSheena · 01/03/2026 11:46

I have succumbed to the new CB edit. I’m not sure about the Pistachio but I can gift that. Sounds mad but I daren’t open the one I have as DS has a nut allergy. He’s an adult and had the skin tests 10 years ago. He’s asked for blood tests as when he flies they always ask if it’s airborne and we have no idea.

I doubt there's real pistachio in..most perfumes are chemicals, lab made, although some do use natural ingredients. Can you check their website/ contact Kayali cs?

It does claim to have real pistachio, seems unlikely though
