my favourite perfume from many years ago was d&g feminine.
does anyone have any recommendations for anything?

Alto astral today, last drops from the sample. Lovely clean aldehydes meet coconut scent. I enjoy it but only in small doses, find it too much for frequent use.

Acqua di Parma Zafferano today. Spicy jasmine with vanilla in the dry down. I reckon I have 1-2 uses left in this sample. Lovely on such a cold day.

Loads - you may need to give us some more clues on what you like - gourmand, floral, fresh etc.

Otherwise just stick around and see what people post about to get some ideas.

Is this saffron heavy - the name Zafferano makes me think there's some saffron there. I love saffron notes in perfume. That along with cherry are two of my favourites (maybe not together though)

I've been naughty and bought the PDM countdown calendar, it's such a good offer plus I also get a delina lotion, and 2 x 5ml delina (delina + delina exclusif) + some mini samples. So absolutely loads of PDM for the price. I will probably sell the 30ml delina and keep the smaller sizes.

That's it now for christmas/sales/let's face it it's not really christmas any more....

SOTD blue talisman extrait ex nihilio. I like it- not tried the original but an easy wear. Sweetish dry down, not too intense. Liberty scent kit

I’m one of those who really like / iso E etc notes- Another 13 by le labo example which I think it’s an extreme version. It is in a lot though. If you don’t, a quick search on fragrance reddit can be helpful. I don’t know if more “natural” based brands might be a good starting point but there is do much marketing / beauty equivalent of “greenwashing”. I got a cheap supermarket eco branded candle rip off and noticed the fragrance/ wax difference straight away.

lovely to see all the lush Christmas gifts and sale bargains - BTSO and salt works I’d be interested in Hearing about. I’m on a no spend for a while so nice to live vicariously.

Inspired by some of the other threads, and knowing full well I'll be tempted as soon as there's a good scent kit or GWP, I decided to count my perfumes.

70 samples (3ml or less)
7 x 5ml
46 x 7-10mls
3 x 15ml
5 x full bottles (all 30ml apart from one 100ml)

I have several years worth at the very least! Hopefully this will help me resist adding to the stash!

Baby it's cold outside! I am wearing Jo Malone Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot. It always surprises me how spicy it is but good for the weather!

@IDontHateRainbows According to Fragrantica there are saffron notes in there, but I’m not sure I can pick them out. I really dislike saffron in food, but I’m loving this perfume.

Glossier Fleur, possibly the most ineptly named scents as its not a floral at all, more of a beachy vanilla. Quite light, so would be suitable for office wear, and suit all seasons particularly spring/ summer. Had a small sample i found in my bag.

Cozying up with PDM Oriana this cold winter's evening. This is a beautiful scent, and sweet/ deep which is just perfect for the weather. Sadly the aforementioned Countdown Calendar doesn't have this in, so i will need to make the 10ml from the castle collection last.

I put Vyrao Witchy Woo (fragrantica link) on first thing and sprayed Sana Jardin Berber Blonde (fragrantica link) in the afternoon to test it when I arrived - I really like Berber Blonde but not sure if the Witchy Woo is helping it. I thought it was a bit soapy and house cleaner like when I sprayed, but the dry down smells light and fresh. I will save this for summer.

Does anyone remember what the amazing rainforest perfume was that a PP posted about? Don’t think it was by a regular. I need to keep a list. I haven’t tried many greens.

SOTD is a sample of one umbrella for two - Originally I thought oh no - it smelt overwhelmingly of toasted honeyed nuts and rhubarb… but as it has settled down I keep re smelling my wrist and its settled into a soother fruity scent - I like it

SOT hour is rare beauty rare. Finished the last of the sample. Strange one this, at first sniff really nice but there's something in it that feels like too much. So it's not one I felt the need to reach for a lot. Kind of the opposite of a grower.

I got Hermes un jardin en mediterranee and it’s a weird one. It’s supposed to be a green freshy with some fig leaf. I’ve seen some people comparing it to celery which I was very excited by 😂 but all I smell is Penhaligons malabah (long discontinued but I have a small amount left) which is a spicy tea type of fragrance. I’m very confused by the similarities as they don’t have the same notes. Skin chemistry maybe? I mean, I do like it but it’s just not what I expected. Will have to test again. Perhaps side by side to compare.

Boadiceau the Victoria Boadiceaus - suppose to be cherry/almond but I think it leans too heavily on the almond. It's nice but needs topping up with some cherry.

Vilhelm Dear Polly today. Smoky, figgy tea. I think I’d wear this any time of year. It’s lovely.

Bibbi Vanilla Factory today - I do like this, it's the only Bibbi I've enjoyed. Vanilla, bit spicy but not overly so. It's quite sweet but not too sweet for me.

My PDM countdown calendar should land tomorrow - will be at work but Mr. Rainbows given strict instructions to listen out for the postie. I hope they can get to us ok - it's been like an ice rink/skid pan on our road and with drive sloping down to the pavement from the door, very treacherous.

Sold the bodacious - it just wasn't hitting the cherry notes for me at all - muted almond scent which was okay but I felt a little cheated as I was expecting more cherry.
