I had a look back and appears both the Cult Beauty and Space NK scent edits were released in March last year so hopefully we don’t have long to wait.

Its world perfume day or something like that in March IIRC, so look out for some frag boxes around then. I'm ready for a new one by now.

@EvelynBeatrice Fugazzi 'Angel Dust' is one of the best powders I've tried.

Doglover73 · 18/02/2026 10:32

Jo Malone lime,mandarin and basil.

My hormones at high atm and the vanilla fragrances smell like burning so need something citrus x

Mackemlass79 · 18/02/2026 11:03

Morning all. A random dive into my samples/minis this morning pulled me out Bitter Peach so thats my SOTD. NOT sure about it even tho I know its quite old now but definitely not something I would want in a bigger size

OvaHere · 18/02/2026 11:19

SOTD is Libre Berry Crush. As mentioned before I like it but probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy it. It has that sweet, pleasant but fairly generic scent you get from many designer brands. If I did a blind test I'd probably struggle to identify what was YSL, Valentino, CH etc.

Thank you. Perhaps we need to agree on a definition of ‘powdery’. I loathe baby powder type smell. I’m looking for the lovely make up powdery / old compact smell. I love the end notes of Givenchy L’Interdit for example, but hate the rest of it ( plasticine shudder!) and like some aspects of La Vie est Belle but find it far too sweet .,,

potplantsinparadise · 18/02/2026 16:06

@EvelynBeatrice Maybe Frederick Malle 'Portrait of a Lady'? I find it a bit much but it definitely has the 'vintage make-up' vibe down.

Maddyandme · 18/02/2026 16:39

Hi ladies, I’d love to join you if I may? I’m a bit of a perfume addict and love discovering new scents!
Re. powdery fragrances, have you tried Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy? I feel like that has the kind of ‘make-upy’ vibe you describe. It’s one of my favourites. (I have the old bright red bottle though, not sure whether the new darker bottle is a bit different!)

I think I ended up with all those edits 😬

SOTD is Nest Lychee Rose which I think was from a CB edit

You may not like some of the list I posted then. Probably avoid Yara as that's quite sweet/baby powder.

One I've remembered that I really like and with your update might be one you'd enjoy is Merit Retrospect. Very vintage feel, it's a lovely scent and reminds me of my Mum in the 70s/80s.

Thank you. Sounds lovely. I will try it.

I have previously tried so many to no avail. Has anyone who likes Miller Harris tried Violet Ida or Powdered Veil? Do you think they’d match the description of end notes of old makeup/ perfume drawer powderiness?!

Maddyandme · 18/02/2026 17:59

I actually tried Violet Ida quite recently. It’s quite a strong powdery iris - how I’d imagine the colour lilac to smell! It didn’t particularly evoke a make-up vibe to me, but I did like it; I feel like it would be a nice relaxing bedtime fragrance.

EvelynBeatrice · 18/02/2026 18:04

On bedtime fragrance / calming light and lovely front, I favour Massimo Dutti Soufflé Marais. Absolutely beautiful. Also much cheaper than Prada Iris which has some similarities. On me it also ‘ends’ a little like Bal D’Afrique.

Maddyandme · 18/02/2026 18:45

That sounds lovely @EvelynBeatrice. Bal D’Afrique is the only Byredo that I fell for. I just dug out my Violet Ida sample and I take it back - it definitely does have a make-up powder quality. It’s really nice actually. Very soft and feminine.

Thanks. I will try it out next time I’m in London.

JoRaRaRa · 18/02/2026 22:17

SOTEvening is Sana Jardin Sandlewood Temple. I've not worn this one for a while, still really like it though 🥰

Maddyandme · 19/02/2026 08:34

Today I’m wearing Diptyque Orpheon, which is another great powdery fragrance. I’ve added a cheeky spritz of Granado Esplendor, they seem to complement each other really well.

MotherWol · 19/02/2026 09:19

It’s a gloomy day here, but it looks like we might be going into Norwich, so SOTD is nothing until I reach the Jarrolds fragrance counters!

Ooh enjoy - I think there are a few of us around Norwich. I love Jarrolds! And always have a browse in Sostrene Grene afterwards.

TheFutureIs · 19/02/2026 09:48

@JoRaRaRathat is one of my absolute favourites, my partner loves it on me too

MotherWol · 19/02/2026 09:50

@Fleecy testing the Molton Brown tea ceremony is definitely on my list, as is Jo Malone Hinoki, and some of the Chloé scents if they stock them. What else should I look out for?

Ive ordered the MB tobacco edp, im going through a tobacco curious phase.

Day 3 of no scents for me and I am missing them but not as much as I thought. I brought the pdm perfume tile with me for cheeky sniffs!

Today I’m wearing Bibbi The Other Room. A really interesting scent. Probably a bit much for a moochy half term day with nothing more than a trip to the supermarket

EvelynBeatrice · 19/02/2026 09:55

Today I am nervous about a medical appointment so am seeking comfort in my summer favourite Panier des Sens Fleur d’Oranger. The initial almost oiliness turns to a lovely orange blossomy amber powder as it develops.
