My husband conked out on the sofa at 8:30, I was glad about that at the time 🤣 but not when he was switching all the lights on at 7am this morning though and trying to find his gym towel 😮‍💨

I've gone for Thameen Riviere this morning. It's very light and I love the floral in it. I said before that it gave me the feeling of twinkling ice crystals on a winters day, but this morning it's giving me the feeling of an Icelandic spa kind of calm. It's making me think of snowy mountains in the distance, warm plunge pools, soft steam in the air and fluffy towels waiting afterwards. I’ve never even been to Iceland, but somehow this fragrance creates that cosy, peaceful feeling.

We may have slightly overdone it on yesterday’s walk with Lady 🐾 and she struggled a little with her leg last night, so today is a slow, rest day at home under the blankets and I feel that this is comforting and soothing enough for the day 🩷

Herrera vgg elixir. An old favorite but still really like it. Cherry, tempered by bitter almond. Would make it into a suitcase of 'going to a desert island and can only take 10 favorites'

SOTD started off as Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit but I then decided to decant the Libre Berry Crush from the Debenhams edit into a spray bottle, spilling a bit on my hand in the process. So that's all I can smell now.

I quite like Libre Berry Crush. It would be a good inoffensive office scent. I probably won't buy it as I have similar like CH GG Blush and Armani My Way that serve the same purpose.

IDontHateRainbows · 15/02/2026 16:13

I didn't think much to libre berry crush. Very meh. I sold it on quite easily on ebay, making it clear it wasn't full. You can't overtly say tested once as the censor-bot picks it up, so have to speak in code!
On.the fence about the armani one, its nice in some ways but reminds me of spilling a child's ice lolly down my sleeve. Very sweet and fruity smell. Overall, leaning to no.

Feels a bit brighter this time of day now at least. Springs still a long way off it seems, but there's a bit of hope in the air now.

I think the same about the Libre Berry, just meh to me too. I'm glad I didn't spend £28 buying 10ml directly from Ysl. I'm hoping that come spring, I'll fancy more lighter fruity scents and I'll like it then, I feel like I've put quite a few away for spring, I still have my diy harvey nicks calendar full of all the AC perfumes that I thought would be better suited to spring summer. I think I'm going to open that soon, I'm starting to crave cleaner, lighter perfumes.

Doglover73 · 15/02/2026 19:14

Can I ask which ones you are saving for spring/summer? If you have the time to note a few down.
Im new on the fragrance journey but have loads 🥰

JoRaRaRa · 15/02/2026 19:49

@Doglover73 from memory, I have Les Eaux Primordiales Couleur Primaire from the TPS Essence Deluxe discovery box
Versace bright crystal from the Flannels box
From the Harvey Nichols FAC:
Xerjoff torino 21
Memo paris madurai
Granado tropicalia
Gritti mango aoud
From the SpaceNk FAC:
Byredo blanche
JHAG Miami shake
Frederic Malle Acne Studios
Acqua Di Parma blu mediterranean fico Di amalfi

I'm sure there are more but I can't remember which ones they are.

IDontHateRainbows · 16/02/2026 07:58

Not sure about saving for spring/ summer but the more seasonal ones are
Vilhelm dear polly ( lemon tea)
Chloe vanilla planifolia ( floral vanilla)
Jhag vanilla vibes( beachy/ salty vanilla)
Goldfield and banks sunset hour(fruity )

Think this year I will also enjoy some freshness
Vyrao I am verdant
Bibbi Swimming Pool

Daisy wild eau so intense today which I got in the CEWE beauty box before christmas. Unsure about this one. Very fruity, almost banana-y which is a rare note in perfumery. I keep sniffing my hand but I'm not sure I really really like it, it's in that very sweet fruity category that I think is hard to get right. Sunset Hour does, but a few others (la bomba, the new armani for example) just make me feel like I've spilled a popsicle down my arm.

Working from home today so will experiment a bit, and have a last hurrah before I am going to stay with a lovely but perfume-allergic friend which means detox time for me. However will I cope?? I have the perfume tile they gave me at PDM which I'm tempted to load up and then take into her garden to sniff if I get withdrawals, like a junkie. The neighbours may wonder what is going on!!

Thank you @JoRaRaRa
I have all 3 of these edits/advents so very helpful. 🥰

Even though I really dont need any fragrance for the next few years I was feeling nostalgic last night and ordered an Estee Lauder Beautiful off vinted. I have a lot of credit as sold a lot so basically free. 😂
Was my first real perfume at 17 from duty free on the way to Tenerife and used up to 2/3 years ago. Had a jo malone lime and basil one I bought about 10 years ago after trying in Jo Malone store in Edinburgh.
Now I have a lot. I hope I still like it.
I love Delina and read the reviews etc on perfumista and sounded kind of similar. I know they've reformulated it as well.
It was like a trip down memory lane as comments mentioned lots of 80s and 90a scents.
Samsara, Anais Anais, etc. 🥰

Mackemlass79 · 16/02/2026 12:08

Today's SOTD from my dip into my (ridiculously large) collection of samples and minis is Chanel chance. Im finding lately im not too struck on channel fragrances dont know why as in the past I have loved them but often find them headache inducing at min so this one may be a scrub off and try again attempt but we shall try

IDontHateRainbows · 16/02/2026 20:49

Tom Ford Fig Erotique again. God it is lovely and I'm soooo glad I bought it. Its deep and fruity( but not in a popsicle way) and has a vanillary undertone, i could happily drown in a vat of it......

Tocca Colette for me today, I really enjoyed it. Still only 14 euro spend on perfumes so far this year but feel a nice new edit or kit would be nice!

IDontHateRainbows · 17/02/2026 18:32

I'm in perfume withdrawal/ detox land for the next few days, staying with an allergic friend. Will sniff vicariously through this thread!

I think I've found a new love. 21:50 Reverie by Victoria Beckham. I randomly picked this as a sample when I bought an eyeshadow not knowing any of the notes.

It's completely my sort of powdery vanilla perfume and the tobacco note gives it a slight edge. It's still soft and subtle enough that you could wear it to the office though.

Is it a bit too similar to some other powdery scents I own? Yes probably. Am I scouring eBay and Vinted as we speak? Yes I am.

Please can you tell me some of your favourite scents? I am on a seemingly fruitless hunt for the perfect powder…..

I've just received a sample of VB 21:50 in a Vinted bundle I've bought. It's lovely.

I got round to trying the Prada Santal Chai and it really reminds me of something else, but I can't put my finger on what. Top notes are Cardamom and Citrus; middle notes are Masala Chai, Spices and Milk; base notes are Sandalwood and Musk.

Some people think it's similar to Gris Charnel, but I'm not sure that's what it reminds me of. Anyway, the good news is that I'm not tempted to buy a FB. It's nice enough but not a love.

These are some that I own and love

Mojave Ghost ( much loved top 3 fragrance for me) I have the Absolu version as the originals don't have the best longevity.
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Byredo/Mojave-Ghost-27040.html

Vanilla Powder (lovely and a heavy hitter)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Matiere-Premiere/Vanilla-Powder-84933.html

Esplendor (this is IMO quite a good dupe for Vanilla Powder and a bit cheaper)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Granado/Esplendor-92932.html

Fleur de Peau (maybe the most subtle of those I own, I really enjoy this one)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Diptyque/Fleur-de-Peau-Eau-de-Parfum-48681.html

Amouage (only have a sample size of this one, to me it has similarities to Fleur de Peau and is very expensive hence only having a small sample)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Amouage/Guidance-78656.html

Yara (inexpensive and maybe not the most sophisticated but it does have a very powdery note)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Lattafa-Perfumes/Yara-76880.html

Valaya (has a powdery note but not as much as others mentioned)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Parfums-de-Marly/Valaya-78574.html

Alto Astral (also not as powdery as some but a very unique fragrance - best described as coconut sunscreen and rock pools)
https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Byredo/Alto-Astral-111517.html

I probably have a few more but these are just what comes to mind. I'm sure others will chime in with recommendations too.

JoRaRaRa · 17/02/2026 19:53

My SOTD has been Jo Malone Myrrh and Tonka, fancied a stronger cosy scent today 🤎

EvelynBeatrice · 17/02/2026 20:37

I smelled a real cheapie - Next’s ‘Amara’ a few weeks ago and intended to buy it - but think it has now been discontinued. It reminded me of the old Space NK ‘Woman’ that I liked many years ago.

Typical - they always discontinue the ones I like 😬😁. I loved Next Enchantment too but it has gone.

My youngest daughter has fallen for Dyptique(?) Lunamaris which reminds her of the - also discontinued- L’eau de mademoiselle de Givenchy.

QueefofSheena · 18/02/2026 06:59

I find Moncler very powdery.

I’ve not been very active on this thread lately, I’ve been selling some of my travel sizes off. Is it time for another perfume edit yet? I feel I need some newness 😁

There are a few bottles of Amara for sale on Vinted from £10.

Seems ages since there was one. We must be due a Liberty one soon. I've got vouchers saved so hoping for a good one.

JoRaRaRa · 18/02/2026 08:01

SOTMorning is Thameen Riviere, really nice on a morning 😍

I need to pull out some of my samples and travel sizes, I'm finding I'm wearing the same fragrances, the reason I started collecting a load was to have more variety 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had a look back and appears both the Cult Beauty and Space NK scent edits were released in March last year so hopefully we don’t have long to wait.
