Managed to sample quite a few fragrances today in Norwich, despite being pushed for time and with children underfoot. Jarrolds had relatively few indie/niche brands, maybe they’re online only. Impressions:
Molton Brown tea ceremony is very fresh, the pear comes through nicely; I don’t really detect much matcha or tea. Very springlike, not for me, but a good example of a freshie.
Jo Malone Hinoki and Cypress: I was hoping this would satisfy my desire to smell like a Japanese spa, but on me it just comes off like posh Badedas, and DH hates it. Next on the list to try is Le Labo Eucalyptus 20.
Diptyque Orpheon EDT: this feels distinctly different from the EDP, really citrus-forward with the yuzu, but retaining the posh hotel soap cleanness of the original. I liked it but not as much as the EDP.
I’d been all set to buy a travel size of something today, and it’s a bit disappointing to come away empty handed, but that’s probably more to do with how unrelaxing it is to try and browse in half term!
