SOTEvening is Ataratma Smitam Santal 🌿I thought this one would be soothing for bedtime, but it’s actually quite uplifting and invigorating, so it's maybe better suited for mornings! Either way, it’s lovely, and I’ve put it on for a relaxed night in. Just me, some laughs at Beckham memes (people’s creativity really cracks me up 😄), and then off to sleep. It is OK for winding down, just a bit more energising than I remembered.

OvaHere · 20/01/2026 22:45

SOTD was Liberty Maze. Don't think I've worn this since summer. Not a typical January scent but I do like it - powdery with a hint of tea.

paristotokyo · 20/01/2026 23:40

@Lurkingsharkwhy didn’t I think of that? 😂 I think it’ll be the same for me too.

IDontHateRainbows · 21/01/2026 08:22

Sana Jardin vanilla nomad. Having regrets on this one. The spray seems a lot stronger than the rollerball which I had before. It's an astringent vanilla, not sure what is in there but quite strong, herbal notes. It's alright but I'm in no rush to use it.

Also tried today - Frederic Malle Heaven can wait. This is nicer. Carroty top notes. It was in a perfume box I got off ebay. It's nice enough, don't love it, don't hate it. Ok for a change.

I’ve bought a full size of Vyrao free 00. Yay. I’m trying to find fragrances that I love which I’ll be buying full sizes of and reducing the total amount I have as I get through all the travel size/samples I have. Hoping by next year I’ll have a small collection of loves only. I’m hoping to add gypsy water (maybe cos the longevity is questionable) and BDK impadia (as an evening
scent) to this too. Free 00 is the most perfect hot weather daytime scent for me. Looking at the notes I’d never have chosen it and would be sure I’d dislike it. I think I did dislike it when I first tried in a different climate. But something about wearing it now on skin feels right.

JoRaRaRa · 21/01/2026 11:17

SOTMorning is Guerlain Absolus Allegoria Florabloom. I'm not really liking this one, it smells a bit old fashioned to me 😕 I was hoping I'd like it after a while, but nope, it's not for me.

Yay, finally! Same. But the samples are how I’ve found things I love.

SOTD - the very last of the LBTY Hera Reigns sample.

The liberty scent kits are on their way, no one at home today so I'm hoping they get left in the safe place, its Amazon delivery and they can be a bit hit and miss. Feel a little bit scammed that usually you get the scent kits at much better value but I'm looking forward to trying these in particular the Tana Meadow and the vilhelm modest mimosa.

Meanwhile I have oriana on - office day - hope I have not oversprayed I must be so nose blind now.

Has anyone smelt the new Prada fragrance - Infusion de Santal Chai Eau de Parfum?

Described in The Times as "Warm, cosy and just a little bit sexy, it’s like a cashmere scarf in a bottle, with creamy sandalwood and spicy chai and cardamom."

I went to Selfridges last night to see if I could test it, but they don't have tester bottles yet. The assistant did say that the full bottle was available to purchase, and really didn't seem to understand that I wasn't going to part with £150 without knowing how the fragrance would smell on me.

It sounds right up my street though.

SOTD is Sana Jardin Sandalwood Temple, which has similar notes to the Prada Chai

SOTD. FM acne studios.
Ok but not that long lasting. Will spray more next time as after 2 hours very faint. I didnt go mad as wasnt sure if id like it

This, lasts very long on me. Give it another chance

Tonight is tea ceremony, new scent from Molton Brown. It is lovely, I do like a nice tea scent. Never really been into MB before but I do like this one.

I also got the liberty fragrance boxes.

Woody is going back - it does NOT have musc ravageur as advertised, but another malle one, something Vetiver and I don't like vetiver. Not enough in that box to pique my interest without the musc ravageur .

Floral I will keep -the modest mimosa and tana meadow for me and I'll sell the other 2, creed carmina and sj revolution de fleur.

Given that I am sending back the woody, I will keep the dear polly set of 3 x 10ml. I won't use it until spring is here though, it's a summer scent.

Snap @IDontHateRainbows - SOTE is Tea Ceremony for me too. Did you get the Jarrolds edit?

I liked this from the first spritz. Will be interesting to see how it dries down.

Yes, think it was an exclusive with the edit.

I think this sounds interesting too but yes ideally you want to smell it first!

Might see if I can find it next week when I'm in town.

paristotokyo · 22/01/2026 01:46

Delina today as felt like something different. I won’t be buying impadia until I’ve finished this 10ml travel as they are too similar in vibe, even though imo the bdk is much nicer.

Oh and I think I would love tea ceremony. Don’t think it’s been released yet (except for in that kit). I also really like the coastal cypress and sea fennel by MB.

IDontHateRainbows · 22/01/2026 07:55

Vilhelm modest mimosa from the liberty floral kit. I like it! Wasn't sure I would from the notes, and the last few vilhelms I've tried (room service, basilica) i wasn't a fan of. But this is nice.

SOTD is Lancome La vie Est Belle from the holiday set. It's quite sweet, I don't love it or hate it so far. Can't see it's one I would buy.

Has anyone had a chance to sniff the new YSL Libre Berry Crush yet? Not sure if it's in stores yet. I quite like OG Libre and this one has raspberry notes.

The Libre Berry Crush has gone on sale on the Ysl website but unfortunately, the 10ml has sold out already 😕 I'm not a massive libre fan, so I'm not sure why I'm so disappointed about not spending £28 on something I probably won't like 🤣
I love lancome La vie est belle 😍 I've worn it for years. The new vanilla one is really nice and not as sweet, it's a shame they didn't include that one in the holiday set.

JoRaRaRa · 22/01/2026 11:09

Fragrance du bois sirene for me today. The dog is starting to smell after her op, I can't bath her yet so I've put on a strong perfume so I can't smell her 🤣 I do love this one!

SOTD Floral Street Sweet Almond Blossom from the M&S 2025 advent calendar.

Judt had a Valentine’s promo email from M&S showcasing a new EDP called Pear Blush. I can’t decide if it sounds nice or not!? What do you all think? Is it meant to be a dupe of something fancy?

  • Top notes: pear, bergamot, ambrette
  • Middle notes: violet, rosemary, jasmine
  • Base notes: vanilla and musk
https://www.marksandspencer.com/pear-blush-eau-de-parfum-50ml/p/hbp60775694

They've actually released eight new Discover EDPs

  1. Pear Blush
  2. Sweet Water Lily (water lil, violet leaf, green base, vanilla musk)
  3. Midnight Blossom (jasmine, tuberose, amber)
  4. Black Pepper (spicy, vanilla, amber)
  5. Spiced Amber (floral geranium, woody cedar - described as evening)
  6. Sweet Pistachio (pistachio, tuberose tonka)
  7. Ocean Musk (neroli, citrus, musk)
  8. Cool Vetiver (citrus, ginger, nutmeg, vetiver)

Thats on top of the four they released last year

  1. white coconut
  2. Soft iris
  3. pink pepper
  4. warm neroli

I jumped in and bought 50ml of white coconut, and then they did a small 30ml set of all four at a great price. I’m hoping they do a small set of all of them they all sound really interesting and given it’s M&S will be crowd pleasers.

Love that one. After a PP described it as being reminiscent of a dusty factory I have smelled it as such!

@BakeOffRewatch I like the M&S perfumes and it’s great they’re now doing more EDPs.

I wish they would do an EDP of Spiced Bergamot, that’s my favourite one from them.
