well this is all far too posh for me, but I had had a new perfume for Christmas so thought I'd chip in.

its Guerlain aqua allegoria neroli and vetiver and it is a lovely scent.

I usually wear Prada D'Iris or Hermes Jardin Sur le Nil for the day or Eau Dynamisante or Loccitane Cerisier at the weekend.

However I love perfume so shall follow with interest

Le labo eucalyptus again. I’ll probably reach for this a lot so good job I picked up another travel size. Le labo never do discounts so unlikely to buy a full bottle at full price.

Tested both moon carnival and room service by Vilhelm, and dislike both so they’ll both be passed on. These are the first two I’ve disliked from the Liberty autumn scent kit/gwp. (Didn’t open LBTY 1875 as I’m definitely selling on so haven’t tested). I’m just not a floral girl, and especially dislike turberose so the moon carnival is out and I’m finding the room service soapy which I also dislike. Don’t think I’ve kept any of the Vilhelm parfumerie fragrances that I have come across so far. Think I don’t really gel with this house perhaps. Oh well. Off to scrub and maybe wear Bibi vanilla factory. I’ve really enjoyed this one, it is a bit of a weird one but something about it I really like. Abandoned factory that used to bottle vanilla essence a long time ago vibe. 😂

@Funnys Un Jardin sur le Nil is one of my favourites. Perfect summer fragrance for me. The Prada Iris is lovely too. I always thought I wasn’t really a fan of iris but I recently went through a mini of the Molecules + Iris and loved it. Really comforting.

I keep meaning to try some of the Aqua Allegorias. The bottles are so beautiful!

Cowboy grass by DS Durga. I had a tiny sample in a set of perfumes I bought. I don't usually go for the astringent ones but something in this is calling me. It's very different to my usual thing as regulars on here will know, being zesty/zingy but I like it for a change. Not tempted to get more. Also in the sample set was Bowmakers again an unusual one but I quite like it. Getting into the experimental world of DS Durga although can't afford to buy any right now. Maybe my birthday next month. I will be in London for the day to enjoy myself, and London = liberty.

I really enjoyed liberty zepherine from the calender and hera reigns from the beauty drop so thought I would try some of my other samples from them. I put on ianthe oud and immediately scrubbed it off, it was horrible! I then put on 1875 but this smells like when you pick dandelion stems to me, not quite as bad as the ianthe oud but definitely not nice.

BakeOffRewatch · 19/01/2026 09:21

I hated Ianthe Oud too we received 10ml in the 2024 Liberty BAC smelled like petrol to me. I had a sample set of all the LBTY perfumes which I gave away and now I wish I had given them a chance.

Strange, as I love the 1875 but not the Ianthe oud! We are all so different. Keen to try Tana Meadow from that range but not seen it in kits /boxes yet .

Which of the Liberty house scents would people recommend as a gift/blind buy safe? It’s my mum’s birthday coming up, she’d never dream of buying herself one but I’d like to treat her. She currently likes the M&S pink pepper, which I think is meant to be a dupe for La Vie Est Belle.

It's annoying as Tana Meadow is the one I've been wanting to try. Assume it will show up at some point.

Tirednamechange · 19/01/2026 09:32

I've left the 1875 on and it's not as bad as I first thought so i think i need to keep trying it. I think I've still got a sample of tudor, maze, vine thief and tana meadows. I was so disappointed by the ianthe oud though, I like oud but all I got was burnt leather.

It's in one of the ridiculously overpriced fragrance sets which I was hoping would be reduced yesterday in the fragrance offer. But no. I have tried it in store, it reminded me of mojave ghost but not as nice. Very mallowy.

The only LBTY I’ve ever liked is the wild rosinda but I can’t currently wear it as it’s a cold weather scent. @MotherWolmaybe take your mum on a fragrance sampling outing so she can choose? I’d be disappointed for the person if someone spent that much money on me and I didn’t love it. It’s a lovely gesture though!

There were samples last summer so there’s ones on Vinted www.vinted.co.uk/items/7688198966-liberty-of-london-tana-meadow-lbty-eau-de-parfum-perfume-2ml-bnib

Yeah @MotherWol i don’t think there’s such a thing as a safe blind buy as things smell so different on different people. Could you get her the sample set? https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/liberty-lbty.-fragrance-discovery-set-000790132.html and a woody one here https://www.libertylondon.com/uk/woody-discovery-set-3-x-8ml-000815423.html . And could pick up the remaining three samples 1875, tana meadow and Adelphi on Vinted or eBay

not seen 8ml yet either

IDontHateRainbows · 19/01/2026 12:19

1 -2ml samples are ruined on me as I just use them up really quickly and if I like it, I want more. The equivalent of having a canape instead of a meal.

When I first tried it in store I wasn't sure of it but I grew to love it, especially the smokey aspect, so it may be a grower.

Fugazzi Sugardaddy today. Not keen. Sharp fruit and then just sweet. It’s a 2ml sample. Might use as a bathroom spray.

IDontHateRainbows · 19/01/2026 13:30

Delina Exclusif today. It's a WFH day so I tend to have a good old spritz of whatever catches my eye and in particular the tiny samples and try some new things. I do love Delina Exclusif - this and Oriana in tie for first place favourite from the house. Valaya i've decided the exclusif is ok but prefer the original, it has some almondy notes in it which give it a heaviness that I'm not a fan of.

Bizzarely, after many years of not being into citrus/zingy scents it's all I want today. Opened a lucius which was in one of the addy cals and it's quite nice - citrus top notes with a smoother dry down. Strange how I've suddenly started craving these today, see if it lasts. Luckily I'm too old to be pregnant!

Maybe your nose is craving citrus because it reminds you of sunshine on this gloomy January day? 🌧️😂 Lucius is really nice though 😍 and I'm not usually a big fan of citrussy perfumes either.

It's been dedcool Taunt for me today for wfh, looking after the dog and a visit to the vets (all good, wounds are healing nicely 😊). A nice calm and comforting perfume that I'm happy to make a dent in 😁
