Welcome to the Toast thread where we talk about what we love, (and what drives us mad 😹), about all things Toast.

As usual, pictures are welcomed, as are comments, questions and info about Toastie topics.

@Stoic123 I seem to have placed the same second order as you!!! Definitely had my eye on that cashmere sweater for a while.

Almost all of the “first round” went back, apart from the wool cashmere dress which I am wearing as I type. It’s quite a big departure in style that I would usually wear, but I saw it on one of the Toast staff months ago and loved it then, and it actually was a “oh I’ll just try it on the off chance it’s nice” type of thing, but I didn’t want to take it off once it was on! Highly recommended, even as a shorty it looks good.

CakeAndJazz · 02/01/2026 15:15

@AFingerofFudge is that the brown umber one? It looks so lovely, though I’m short…but does seem like something I’d wear a lot over base layers, especially for lounging at home. I recently tried the sweater and whilst lovely, the sleeves were sooooooo long on me I had to return it.

Sally Lacock earrings are in the sale now, I have a pair and wear them almost every day.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2026 15:20

Lots of things back stock. I managed to grab the mohair round cardigan. That means I am
waiting for 4 parcels over the next week or so. It’s kind of ridiculous, and surely is far more work for the online & warehouse staff for them to add things so piecemeal.

ScallopShellWalk · 02/01/2026 15:36

@ScottishMouse on reflection, regarding the cardigan, maybe you saying you dithered over reordering is the indication it’s not what you want. There will always be others.
ah I read now you did buy it again. I hope it works for you.

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2026 15:42

@ScottishMouse i didn’t order it yet and now it won’t let me add it to my bag! Maybe it’s sold out again but the website isn’t catching up.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2026 15:43

Ha ha! Too late @ScallopShellWalk, it’s been reordered. I’ll try it but will be willing to let it go if not perfect.

MiracleToast · 02/01/2026 15:44

I blame the snow but lots of cosy things have been ordered : )

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2026 15:53

Oh that’s weird @Snowyowl78 And annoying.

ScallopShellWalk · 02/01/2026 15:57

@ScottishMouse😊😊 that made me smile. Good luck with it. You didn’t dither this time. 🤗

Snowyowl78 · 02/01/2026 15:58

I want to try those hiking flower mountain trainers but reviews are mixed about sizing! And they’re still £190

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2026 16:02

Thank goodness my OH is back to work on Monday. There are 4 Toast parcels, a Finisterre parcel, a Cos parcel and an Office parcel on their way to me 🤦‍♀️ They won’t all be staying obviously, but he will not understand this kind of shopping madness, so best they arrive, get tried on, and returned all while I am working from home next week.

ScallopShellWalk · 02/01/2026 16:04

@Snowyowl78
i haven’t tried these but since realising my feet have grown and using a lot of barefoot shoes I’ve come to realise extra space at the top is nice and sometimes I’ve lots more space than other times. This is especially true for me with lace up shoes. For me more is better. So long as I can’t feel the top. It’s just a thought, shoes might be more flexible in size than we often think.

ScallopShellWalk · 02/01/2026 16:10

@ScottishMouse
i feel the same. I’m hoping my other half doesn’t see mine. Though I’ve less than you. 😁

Abdnshireoutdoorsy · 02/01/2026 16:16

I’ve ordered the pear cord barrel leg trousers that just went in the sale but having to cross my fingers re sizing (thanks to @Countmeout for the advice else I’d not have bothered as the S is out of stock and strictly by the size charts that’s me).

I did also buy the chocolate ones in size S to compare - will be disappointed to send those back if they fit better than the XS so might have to pay full price. I wish the sizing was a bit more predictable. (Annoyingly the size S in pear was in stock but disappeared in the two minutes it took me to checkout).

MiracleToast · 02/01/2026 16:35

@ScottishMouse this is how I feel but about my postie 🙈

Yorkshirelass04 · 02/01/2026 16:40

My round 2 orders. The black dress is full price but I think will be a staple. Anyone tried the blue coat or striped dress?

Does anyone have the cotton silk gathered neck shirt in either navy or gold and has risked it in the washing machine? I really like it, and it would get much use, but I refuse to dry clean and silk does not usually wash well.

Also interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the patchwork kantha stitch silk cotton top. Similar questions about washing, but also generally what is it like on?

MayIDestroyYou · 02/01/2026 17:13

Ah, @VivienneDelacroix - we may find ourselves in mortal combat once the MH sale begins …

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 02/01/2026 17:15

The indigo blue quilted trousers came back into stock (full price) so I have ordered those. Now waiting on 3 orders.
@ScottishMouse I've previously bought cotton silk mix shirts from toast which were usually either hand or cool machine wash, I don't know why they've decided to make more items dry clean only.

Hi @ScottishMouse , i have the blue one which i have worn for work with a silk vest underneath and so have avoided washing it yet. I love it so much that i have bought the gold one in the sale, it is a peach of a blouse, comfy but fells very special on. I love it so much that I won’t be risking washing it and will dry clean though, I couldn’t bear to damage it.

ScottishMouse · 02/01/2026 17:38

It is really good, isn’t it @ToastCosILoveIt? I would also not risk washing I don't think, but I never dry clean, hence my quandary. I could get away with wearing something long-sleeved underneath at this time of year, but in warmer weather 🤷‍♀️ It’s a good price in the sale, I’ll need to think it over a bit more.

ShrankLastWinter · 02/01/2026 17:49

HNY everyone!

On the cotton silk organza skirt, has anyone tried it? I’m between a Toast 10 and 12 in trousers nowadays. I buy 12 but they’re annoyingly a bit large. The waist on the skirt’s 12 is supposedly 77 cm and on the 10 it’s 72. My waist is 74. So I’ve ordered the 12. But I’ll be cross if the measurements are off and it’s actually larger than that.

ShrankLastWinter · 02/01/2026 17:59

Also, I said I’d report back on the Indigo Cotton Twill Shirt Dress and the Organic Cord Tunic Dress in Beetroot.

In both I ordered my usual M for 12/14 on top, wide shoulders. Both fitted well.

The cord tunic dress was a delicious fabric and looked nice on top but had large tight pockets so that the effect lower down on me was teletubby. Would suit a different shape, but it was widening where I am slimmest, I think.

The twill dress on the other hand is cute on me and very versatile. I’m wearing it today. Will try to post a pic. It’s one which needs a decent bra to avoid the low slung bust effect someone mentioned on the last thread, though.

i also tried the boat neck thin jumper in beetroot because I loved it in other colours, but it was too purple. I can wear dark red but not purple.

Hi @ShrankLastWinter, I tried the 14 in the Hampstead store before Christmas. I would have bought it there and then but I’m a 12 and it was too big. I’ve just ordered the 12 in the sale. It’s hard to say but I think either size might have fitted you. It is long but it felt much better in store than it looks online. I’ve just bought a very wide belt from Cos and I’m going to wear the skirt with a toast slate linen oversized jacket and the belt to pinch in the jacket, plus DM boots or my Toast Sturlini boots.

ShrankLastWinter · 02/01/2026 18:05

Thanks @ToastCosILoveIt! Would you mind telling your waist measurement?
