Welcome to the Toast thread where we talk about what we love, (and what drives us mad 😹), about all things Toast.

As usual, pictures are welcomed, as are comments, questions and info about Toastie topics.

Thanks and that's a shame!!

IlovePond · 04/01/2026 14:56

I’m sending back the olive/brown skirt and the grey/black checked skirt tomorrow.

Still waiting for my refund on the parcel that was sent back a week ago. Will have to chase up if the refund doesn’t appear soon. I get so tired of having to chase Toast up for my money - it happens far too often!

Still waiting for my last order to be despatched but am not hopeful about the shoes fitting me as I am in between sizes with Novestas, but for some reason I keep trying!

@TosstTastic We are prepared for all occasions!
@Snowyowl78 I chose to go down a size based on reviews , I quite often find I need to do that with their looser styles. I think I’ll be wearing it with dark cord dungarees or a pinafore , so don’t want too much fabric pouffing out.
@ShanghaiDiva @Yorkshirelass04 Now I’m also looking at that Indigo Baya ! The trousers look like the twisted seam barrel legs, they sold out in most sizes and haven’t been restocked.

I just dropped my returns off instore and have already received refunds.
Perusing the rails made me feel better about the Sale splurge, lovely as things are it all seems more of the same.

I’m still wearing and loving the big patch pocket dungarees, so glad DH encouraged me to keep them .

AmethystMoonShine · 04/01/2026 16:48

After a proper try on, both the mocha brown and sand pleat front trousers are going back. Such a shame as the quality is excellent. They just have too much fabric at the front for me and this with a lower than I’d prefer crotch meant that at £115 per pair they needed to go back. I think if they fit someone well, they’d be worth the money.

Snowyowl78 · 04/01/2026 17:02

@OftenOrange thanks! I have the indigo Baya, love it!

CakeAndJazz · 04/01/2026 17:04

@OftenOrange did you grab the dungarees in this sale? I’ve never even considered them as I’ve never worn dungarees, but I’ve always thought they look really effortless. I can’t seem to find them now…

OftenOrange · 04/01/2026 17:34

@CakeAndJazz Yes they were from this sale , unfortunately the photos of the them have disappeared but they are still there on the US site They are very different from my older ones from Toast , they have wide long legs, a slightly dropped crotch. .I took my usual Toast size and they’re a relaxed fit .
Worth a try if they come back or if KC have them!

hicat · 04/01/2026 17:42

haha @TosstTastic i love that your searched for info and found your own posts.

I also have an imaginary (hardly ever comes to fruition for me) reason for much of what I buy. I keep thinking I still live in London Fields (which I did for about 2 beautiful hot months) but have been back in Ayrshire in truth for a few years. I'm quite sure I'd get laughed at for wearing certain things, I definitely had "art school" yelled at me some years ago before I moved back, but they were actually spot on.

To the person buying the barrel leg corduroys in green and bitter choc - I couldnt get my first choice colour and ended up with the bitter choc (full price) but am so pleased I did!

I dropped partially melted butter down the side of my new quilted trousers when serving guests toast and am anxiously waiting on them drying from the wash to see that the grease stain has gone 😬

Abdnshireoutdoorsy · 04/01/2026 18:28

@hicat that’s me who’s ordered the bitter chocolate cords - I’d be getting excited if I wasn’t prepped for a long wait before they send them out.

Dish soap to cut the grease stain might work without fabric damage?

IlovePond · 04/01/2026 21:38

@hicat - failing that, you could try putting them in the freezer for a bit - sometimes you can then ‘scrape’ the frozen oil off!

hicat · 04/01/2026 21:45

I’ll try both these things, thanks @Abdnshireoutdoorsy and @IlovePond

im pretty sure the colour has faded quite a bit after just one wash too : / despite washing inside out at 30!

PrincessofWells · 04/01/2026 21:48

Happy New Year everyone. Is there an issue around deliveries? I ordered the linen/cotton pintuck dress on 29th and it's not even left the warehouse . . .

IlovePond · 04/01/2026 21:55

@PrincessofWells - Toast despatch is very slow atm, unless you pay for a speedier service.

Ah thanks. I'm off away soon, just wondering if it will reach me. They are usually much quicker 😒

Leftsidefacing · 04/01/2026 23:56

Still looking at the cream Kantha top and trying not to think up reasons to buy it. Its £170 in the sale, and at the moment I’m holding off and reminding myself that it’s just taken me three months to scrape up that amount in ebay sales, which I’m still doing because I have too many clothes 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’d still like to hear from anyone who has is, or has tried it on, though.

Snowyowl78 · 05/01/2026 10:07

I’ve just ordered the merino wrap, it said ‘last pieces’ and the reviews are so so positive! I just checked emails and last year further reductions was 8th Jan and final 17th. Will hold off on anything else. I think anything I’ve bought so far will be gone by then.

Chrestomanciscat · 05/01/2026 11:28

Snowyowl78
I've just bought it too - its beautiful isnt it. Will you post a pic when you get it please?

user1490016445 · 05/01/2026 12:42

I waited on the blue alpaca collared jumper and it's suddenly sold out! Fingers crossed for restock or returns...

ScallopShellWalk · 05/01/2026 13:00

@Snowyowl78 @Chrestomanciscat I ordered the merino wrap too. I’m looking forward to receiving it. It was a good price but still expensive. I’ll wear it having coffee in the garden and anywhere I’m sitting cold.

Chrestomanciscat · 05/01/2026 14:54

ScallopShellWalk
I've created some exciting, but improbable, imaginings in which I'll wear that stunning wrap. I don't really dress for my life as it is, i need to make some lifestyle changes in 2026! I agree - the sale price is good but still expensive. Its white too so I'll have to be really careful with it

ScottishMouse · 05/01/2026 15:27

It’s a Christmas miracle! My order from Christmas Eve has finally arrived. It’s the boiled wool coat with the v-neck in another size. It was packed in a bag and obviously tossed about many Royal Mail offices for ages, so is in a bit of a sorry state. I will need to let it hang a while, but right now it looks like it will be going back.
The mohair circle cardigan also arrived in a different parcel. The buttonholes are even more gapey than the one I previously sent back, and the buttons will never stay shut, but it is otherwise lovely, so for sale price I might keep and just put a stitch in.
I was also expecting an order that I paid for next day delivery to arrive today, but it looks like it hasn’t even been picked up yet.
And Cos may be even worse than Toast. I ordered something before Christmas, got an email to say it had been dispatched on the 28th, and the every tracking still says they are expecting it!

ScallopShellWalk · 05/01/2026 16:12

@ScottishMouse
thats a loooong wait.
I hope you enjoy the circle cardigan and that a few stitches work to keep it closed or even bigger buttons but then that’d likely alter its looks but a possibility. 😁

ScottishMouse · 05/01/2026 16:24

@ScallopShellWalk i hadn’t thought of bigger buttons, but actually that might not work as it is only the middle three buttonholes that are problematic, the ones on the collar and hem are fine because the fabric is sturdier there.
it is also quite itchy on the neck, because it is high. I previously tried it with an aster top underneath, but trying it today with a T-shirt, I’m not loving the feel. I’m leaning towards thinking that even the sale price is too steep and it’s not worth keeping.

ScallopShellWalk · 05/01/2026 16:31

@ScottishMouse thats interesting tho and shame it’s not feeling quite right for you.
I kind of like itchy wool as I feel warm in it but it might mean you won’t wear it. You’ll maybe enjoy finding another if it isn’t this one.
