Here’s a thing - cord trousers

I need some cords - I’ve fallen out of love with jeans and I’m hunting for a nice pair of cords if anyone can recommend any nice ones please? Not geography teacher style mind you. 🙂

I got a fab pair from H&M a few weeks ago - great shape, and really soft, velvety cord. Lovely deep green colour.

Not M&S.... i tried them on was v unimpressed.

I got some wide leg cords in Next, £29. So comfy and flattering I bought another pair. I normally would avoid an elasticated waist but these are a good fit.

I got some beige barrel legged cords from tu in Sainsbury’s that I quite like.

Uniqlo - ‘Curve’ cords are barrel legged, super soft, super comfy and come in a wide range of colours.

I have skinny flare cords from M&S and love them, and they flatter me. I love the different shape to wide leg.

If anyone can share tips on how to wash and dry cords without getting big white lines all over them I’d be most grateful. I’ve pretty much given up because of this.

I have some from Mango, they are a ‘corduroy flared Jean’. I’m happy with them!

Wash and dry cords inside out, @BlueEyedBogWitch - and iron inside out, too. That should prevent the lines which are caused by the velvet pile getting squashed in places.

Not cheap but my favourites are Toast wide legcords - not barrel leg, not pleated, not cropped, just straight, full length and wide. Thick, soft corduroy that hangs beautifully and that’s wearing well. They mean it when they say ‘wide’ though.

I also had some Uniqlo cords that were about a third of the price of the Toast ones and started off looking just as good, but they didn’t wear well - went all saggy and floppy and I donated them.

I don’t know your budget, but Me+Em and Max Mara Weekend have some gorgeous cords in the 150-225 bracket. Fat width, various styles, and really great colours.

I've never come across this issue. I wash on 30 degrees and sometimes inside out and sometimes I forget to do that.

I’ve just bought some from M&S. Needlecord, slim flare in olive green. They’re a great fit, only £40 and not too flappy.

I’ve bought two pairs from M&S and they are gorgeous. I bought the wide leg in olive green which have patch pockets on the front and navy straight leg. They are both a great fit.
