Some are head to toe brown. Some are half brown, half beige.

What a boring trend indeed!

Also, as my teens always say, when I wear camel 'oh mums got her rich lady outfit on again'. Its true, camel always makes you look wealthy and classy for some reason (of which I sadly am not).

I'm liking it as clothes I've had for years are in fashion. I wear brown and sludgy colours as they suit me and I like them and I'll still be wearing them when they are out of fashion, brown clothes since '89 !

Wickedlittledancer · 26/11/2025 16:57

I don’t think it’s boring, but I can’t get into chocolate brown as I remember it from the 90s. However I love all the paler variations, pale caramel, darker tan, cream etc,

FastTurtle · 26/11/2025 16:57

I didn’t even know brown had gone out of fashion, I’ve always worn it in the Autumn and winter. It looks nice with my hair and I suit cream tops so brown works well for me.

So many people making colours all about rules... I hate this, colours should be for enjoyment. Different colours and colour combinations have different aesthetic effects and the variety is nice. We certainly don't need more constraints on what women can or should wear.

All colours suit everyone. Whether you like the effect that a particular colour creates when you wear it is a different matter.

Try adding some charcoal grey, it works well.

I don't want to wear any shade of brown or beige.
It won't suit me because I won't be happy wearing it.

Me too. I once forced myself to wear different colours so got some browns, beige and greens. I hated how I looked and was never happy in them so they were dispensed with and I went back to my old faithful black and navy.

Hmm a bit of an OTT reaction. Do you come on style & beauty often?

Yes, and that's why I'm sick of women saying other women are overeacting to being constantly told what we're wearing is wrong. If you can't comprehend that then good for you. If you like how nasty style&beauty gets when bitter women complain about nicer women, crack on. I'm allowed to complain, hmm?

I'm disagreeing that no-one needs bright colours to look good. Some of us do.

To be fair, noone said that- people were commenting on the trend currently for brown/beige. As PP have said, the majority of people in the world have brown hair and brown eyes so it cant be that horrific a colour since its so natural 🤷‍♀️

Literally noone is forcing you to wear neutrals.

Maidstone girl here who wore that uniform in the 80s when brown was v unfashionable. Bought my first item of brown clothing yesterday and proudly wearing my new jumper out to lunch today! It has got white and orange in it too so not all brown.
