This is exactly what i did until coming on here and reading reviews.
Im now going to explore it more. Only just started my fragrance journey. My go to previously was estee lauder beautiful anf jo malone lime,basil and mandarin.
Now I probably have enough for at least 5 years, maybe 10. 🤣
Ive bought hn fragrance and space nk fragrance and liberty fragrance plus more 🙄
I always go over the top with new ventures, but thankfully have read fragrance doesn't tend to go off. So all good. 🤣
I have a good friend who has a good knowledge of scents and guides me. ♥️
Also love reading recommendations on here and i am going to make notes, eventually.
It's a welcome distraction from Xmas and all the drama it causes for me personally. 🥰🥰

Rose-oud combos work really well to my nose so that sounds interesting. If you are into the rose-oud thing I can recommend Scherzo, golden oud and if you are really feeling brave, Nostos by Eldo (very heavy on the oud so not one to wear in an office setting for example but I do love it)

I saw Kayali have come out with some new oudgasm types, intrigued as i wasn't that impressed with the original oudgasms.

Also what is it with all this -gasm beauty brands are adding to everything. Charlotte Tilbury is at it with the pinkgasm blushes and plumpgasm lips. Just waiting for my daughter to say 'mummy what does gasm mean?'

On the rose thing, it's not an oud-y one but rose of no man's land I've just tried again and it's a grower, I think I like it more than originally I did. I got the 12ml as part of the set of 3 that pharmacy2u were selling at crazy discount.

Just goes to show tastes can change over time and you can think you don't like a note to find in time you do. I wonder if i will ever like zingy citrus though as I always find it too sharp, has to be blended with something softer to work for me.

Have you tried Byredo Rose Noir @IDontHateRainbows ? I think I’d like this as it’s fruity and rose.

the reviews are awful 😂 “like a dark green rose vine dipped in blood and wine crawling across your skin” and “What I would wear on a date to a cemetery at night.”

The Kayali Oudgasm Rose Oud has settled down to a zingy oud, can’t smell the rose though. It does say it’s for layering.

Put Brompton Immortals on again today to give it a day time road test. Am really enjoying it. I need to find Gold Immortals to smell somewhere, which I think leans slightly more feminine.

Have you tried the Shay & Blue in the TPS Essence Deluxe box? That's a nice oudy ambery rose. It's not strong so it's nice for daytime wear 😊

I think our hormones are a big player in this

@JoRaRaRa I agree, the Shay & Blue is gorgeous. I didn't think I'd like it, but I'm seriously thinking of getting another when it runs out!

I didn't, I swapped that one for something else. Will consider at some point although Scherzo ticks the rose oud box pretty well so may stick with that for now.

I did continue to like the Discotheque Heathens yesterday so I'll definitely try it again on a day when it's not competing against anything else.

Today I'm back on Saltworks Discovery Sets. Bambooshka and Copa Cabana from the Limited Edition and L'Orangerie from the original.

Disliked Bambooshka initially although it seems to be improving as it settles. Too green for me, though. Copa Cabana seems to be going the other way. The nutty opening was nice but has given way to fruit which seems... I don't know what, a bit overripe, almost going rotten. Not for me.

L'Orangerie is just as I remember it from previous sampling - very realistic fresh orange, simplistic, but I love it. Nice to blend with something darker, like Tabac Soleil.

Discotheque Call For A Good Time again today. I sprayed Rude Oud on a scarf just to see how it settled, I’m getting a nutty smell which I really dislike

BTSO Black Mango. I love it. the oud is very hidden and the mango stays through the dry down, unlike the Kayali Oudgasms.

I’d like to get a BTSO discovery set and an Ex Nihilo discovery set. Not sure what I’d choose though.

A gloomy rainy start to the day today so I’ve gone back to testing commodity milk. It’s a grower! Or maybe the weathers just more appropriate. But I am actually getting some sweet marshmellow but the type that’s been placed over a fire. Actually I think it’s quite cosy and nice. Not sure if I’d buy this though as I think it’s a cold weather scent.

Flowerbomb tiger lily today, well that's just to start. May switch to something else later. Fruity, tropically coconut completely unsuited to the weather but I dont care!

I've gone for afnan cherry bouquet, not marketed as a TF lost cherry dupe but it smells really similar to my nose. I like it anyway. It's a deep cherry without too many extras.

I've gone for charlotte tilbury star confidence this morning, I like it, but like the other ct fragrances, it doesn't last long on me 😕

Neroli Nasimba by Maison Crivelli. It softens nicely and I fancied something comforting as it’s really grey here today

Selfridges keyholders get 20- 30% off , the delina advent calendar goes down to something quite reasonable 236 or something like that. Not a delina fan fortunately!

Oh and tom ford lost cherry ( and others) reduced a lot thought @MiaN may be interested

Are there any other great deals like this? I'm gutted that the PDM has been discounted by so much 😔 with the other ACs I've thought that it's been OK as it's only been small amounts so I've felt that it's been worth it to not have the stress and worry of it selling out. But this is a kick in the teeth, the amount I could've saved on each calendar if I'd just waited 😭 I need to purchase more stuff to cheer me up now. People, chuck some great deals at me 🤣🤑

@JoRaRaRa PDM is coming up as £244 for me on Selfridges, so by the time you’ve added on the extras they gave buying directly I reckon there’s not much difference

In these situations I buy the item at the discounted price and return it on the original receipt, if its unopened then not an issue, will do this with my JL calendar if it goes down.

Its basically everything in selfridges you have to be a keyholder ie join their loyalty programme.

I'm seriously eyeing up the tom ford!

Oh and bluelight card holders get an extra 4% off on selfridges at this rate they'll be giving it away! Have to buy an e voucher first .

I have finally bought it though. I know PDM were offering loads of extras on their site but I'd rather have the discount on balance.

Still feel slightly guilty about the purchase but I didn't get to spend £53 on the VBB quad I wanted so if you knock that off the AC it's even better! 😂
