Also @BakeOffRewatch I was browsing Vinted earlier to see how the Rude Ouds were selling ( a bit saturated with Harrods AC bottles so I assume not that well) and someone did have a 10ml on there for £27 if you wanted to try it out.

I don’t think I’d like Phlur Rose Whip @OvaHere the reviews lean towards saying it’s like candy rather than a fresh bouquet of flowers.

I really like their extreme extraits. I put Black Mango on in the evening earlier in the week and can still smell it on the edge of my sheets each evening and I love it. Wish they did 10ml sets like Kayali.

Perfume gurus: im buying someone a gift box of a perfume they love. Options are hair mist and travel size roller ball, or else 200ml sized cream, and a travel one. I thought either seems different to the norm but which would you think better?

Cream and travel perfume roller ball. Hair perfume seems more niche. Is a full bottle an option?

@BakeOffRewatch The Byredo Reine de Nuit is lovely but very full on - the raspberry and rose are the accents to the heavier notes rather than something lighter, and like the rest of the Night Veils it's a very late night/party hard scent. I do like it though.

@BakeOffRewatch yes though ive bought that before and wanted to get some sort of interesting gift set. I thought a 200ml cream would be better as bigger

The discovery sets are all ones you can try in store and doesn’t include the exclusives. Like Dirty Milk which I blind bought from Cult Beauty, Choco Loco, A Corps Secret, Free Coco.

Looks like A Corps Secret is a Parisian shopping mall exclusive. Think @OvaHere and @ilovepond were heading there - let me know if you try it at Samaritaine!

I didn't really like rose before, until I smelt delina and then I've been on a bit of a rose discovery myself. I've bought travel sizes of portrait of a lady and velvet rose and oud and I've been using shay & blue amber oud which has rose in. I like the dior one but I've not managed to pick up a ts of it on vinted for a decent price yet. There's a few others that I've got recently but I can't remember their names 🙈

I wish I was @BakeOffRewatch but it’s not me unfortunately. I first went to Samaritaine aged 16 with my DM. It’s a beautiful shop and haven’t been back for a very very long time, but would love to visit again some time.

I went to a niche and very posh perfume shop off Tottenham Court Road to sniff some esoteric brands earlier in the year. Its name escapes me atm but it was interesting.

Oo I'm also heading to Paris, for new years, so I'm also interested in any perfume places. Obviously I'll pass on my recommendations to those going next year 😊

@paristotokyo ooops, its hair mist and travel in one box or 2 bottles of cream (big and a travel one). Which do you think? Is hair mist definitely that bad?

@Shelly421is the travel of the hair mist too? So full size and small size of a hair mist? Or you mean a hair mist plus a travel of the actual fragrance? If it’s the actual fragrance, I’d go for that and the hair mist. If it’s not and it is two hair mists, then id opt for the cream. So at least they could layer their fave scent using it.

@BakeOffRewatch If you’re looking for a lighter, fresher rose fragrance, I love Rosa de Rio by Karen Timson. It’s got citrus and caipirinha notes as well as rose.

I love rose. Absolutely love it. Thanks for all the new reccs, especially the borntostandout ones @BakeOffRewatch . I think they sound hilarious. I regularly have a poke around Reddit lists of rose recommendations.

Here are some other ones not mentioned to sniff, incase you are out and about:

La fille de berlin - serge Lutyens
Eau rose or eau capital - Diptyque
rose oud- La soeurs de noe (in liberty)
cafe rose - tom ford - not a huge coffee note
red roses- Jo malone, a bit boring to me

Plus Penhaligons put the note in a few of theirs , there is an Ellie Saab which someone recommended on a thread and I forgot to write down which one, but not the one with rose in the title. Lush does a few but the store does my head in.

Just in case anyone has an old bottle of Stella McCartney Stella, or PS Smith, those are both also so so lovely, discontinued and ££££ resale. Neals yard had a lovely extract at one point.

Figue Érotique Tom Ford - I will be giving this a sniff when it comes to store. Out and about in the morning, my top smells like velvet aura but I will wear Lost Cherry later. The only cherry for me to be honest, it's crazy price but such a great scent and nothing compares.

You say nothing compares but I think cherry bouquet by Afnan is really similar and a fraction of the price, maybe one to try? They do samples, and fbs, on notino.

Im also going through a rose curious phase and debating whether to keep my delina from the HN calendar .

I did have a 5ml from the fenwick calendar but it was broken on arrival unfortunately.

Meanwhile I've been making friends with miller harris Scherzo which I really like, so rose+ oud combos work for me.

And I have rose of no man's land from the byredo set waiting to be opened but I liked it from the grand discovery kit.

So that's quite a few roses already.

Gone for something completely new to me today.

Like the Oudgasm chocolate, it is intoxicating - in a good way! - on first spray. It’s a very fresh, still on the rose bush, smell. Bit zingy as well which must be the citrus. I didn’t really like rose smells, to me it meant Turkish delights. I’ve got through the full size bottle Dr Sebagh Rose De Vie serum in last year’s Liberty AC, great serum, and lost that association. It’s interesting reading the Fragrantica reviews of rose perfumes, it seems a lot of people equate rose with old lady regardless of the perfume all together.

I'm having a cinema at home day with my mum at today. I'm watching the first wicked as she wants me to go see the 2nd one at the cinema with her. I can't decide what fragrance I should wear. Maybe ysl black opium glitter 🤔 I don't have any Ariana grande ones.
