Wow that's a question - where do I begin.Maybe seasonally.
Last winter I got into Matiere Premiere and loved the parisian musc, vanilla powder and crystal saffron.
Going into spring/summer I was very enamoured with the vanillas- chloe vanilla planifolia and JHAG Vanilla Vibes.
Autumn got me in to Replica Jazz Club and Replica Afternoon Tea
This winter i have been loving CH GG and the flankders - very good girl, elixir, blush
Special mention also to Byredo - Mojave ghost absolu, mumbai noise and alto astral. And BDK - creme de cuir and rouge smoking extrait.

Quite simply an impossible question for me to answer as I have enjoyed so many!

I bought the set of 4 mini grand soir in the Harrods sale - hoping to sell 3 to make the money back and keep one free for myself. It's a rollerball and I can sometimes find them a bit weak but no, this is strong, lovely smoky ambery scent. I find ambers can be quite difficult to get on board with (but once you do they are lovely) but this is quite an easy amber.

Looking forward to the sales abating now if I'm honest as I have soooo much frag and may put some away to enjoy another time as getting new stuff day after day means I'm not fully enjoying the new thing before the next one comes along.

So far in the sales I've bought vanilla nomad, prada infusions and grand soir. This is in addition to the PDM and BDK sets I got in Black Friday.

You'd think I'd be bankrupt after all this but I seem to have sold enough from the advent calendars particularly the reduced HN and SNK ones, to balance the books more or less!

This years been interesting as I now need hot weather scents year round.
Elizabeth Arden - Green tea. This is up there as being one of my faves. Fresh, spa like scent. Really uplifting and just smells so clean (in a non-soapy way which I don’t like). It’s cheap so yes, longevity is not great but can respray guilt free. Last longer on clothes.
Vyrao free 00 - the most perfect every day skin scent when I just want people to think I smell wonderful, not that I’m wearing perfume. Soft, musky and pretty.
Le labo eucalyptus - woody, fresh, herbal, all the things I like.

Also really enjoyed gypsy water and wulong cha. I’m still to test Hermes un Jardin sur de nil and replica matcha meditation. Both of these fit in with what I’ve discovered this year that I really prefer fragrances that have tea, citrus, herbs and aromatics. Fresh and grounding rather than obvious ‘perfume’ type of scents. I also really enjoyed rediscovering by the fireplace but for pure nostalgia and wouldn’t wear it out, I don’t think. Very much a cosy evening at home scent. I’d like to find an evening going out scent though (not that I go out much :)).

This is the year I really got deep into fragrance. Lots that I've really liked but off the top of my head the most loved list is as follows

Byredo Mojave Ghost -technically I got this for xmas last year but it's a most frequently worn
Byredo Alto Astral - I love this one too but it leans more summer so haven't worn it as much as I might have done had I bought it earlier in the year.
PDM Delina - Gorgeous, it's a great example of a well done, wearable rose scent. Gets quite frequent use.
BTSO Black Creme - A really nice, deep scent. Powdery, woody, leather vanilla. Probably not office friendly but gorgeous.
Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit - I'm not the biggest JM fan generally but I've loved this through December. Very seasonal but a good one.
Kayali - collected numerous mini bottles this year. Standout is a toss up between Vanilla 28 and Yum Bougie Marshmallow. Respectable 3rd place to Chocolate Oud.
Diptique Fleur de Peau - lovely powdery floral scent. Can't put my finger on why I love this but I do.

Overall first place, top of the pile find this year I'm going to give to Ex Nihilo Brompton Immortals. Absolutely adore this, not quite sure I can explain why but wearing it just makes me feel good. Made the Harrods fragrance advent calendar completely worth it (there was a fair bit I didn't keep).

I really need to slow down next year and not add to my now significant collection. I've had a declutter over xmas of accumulated travel sizes and sold/passed on quite a few I just don't need to keep. I'm also going to attempt to organise them in 2026 into spring & summer/ autumn & winter to make better use of what I have and hopefully use up some of the many 10mls.

My primary goal for 2026, which I'm not at all confident about achieving, is to not buy/acquire any more until next year's Harrods frag advent. Secondary goal allows for one Liberty (or other) scent kit sometime in the year.

Basically I need to take up knitting or read more books next year. Any distraction from the sparkly things. 😆

OvaHere · 31/12/2025 16:18

@paristotokyo You might like Hermes H24 Herbes Vives. I got a 2ml sample of this and even though fresh 'green' type scents are my least enjoyed scent profile I do actually quite rate this one.

paristotokyo · 01/01/2026 02:13

Thanks @OvaHereI’ll see if I can find it to give it a sniff. I was testing replica coffee break this morning but what a dissapointment. Was expecting a cosy sweet coffee type of scent but it’s a bit nothing? It’s mostly a lavender detergent type of smell. I’m not getting any coffee at all which is strange. Any way a scrubber as life isn’t about wearing fragrances you dislike so decided I was in the mood for delina instead.

Happy new year perfumistas, hope you fragrantly waft into 2026.

QueefofSheena · 01/01/2026 08:35

Happy new year fragrant lovelies! Delina is becoming a big favourite of mine too. I also really the CH GG variants and La Bomba. I love Brompton Immortals and I was really impressed with the Discotheque discovery set, which is still going strong. I’ve bought FS of a couple and 8ml from Vinted.

This year I need to slow down my perfume buying and sell on what I know I won’t use. I think quite a few people will be getting fragrance gifts from me this year 😁

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 10:55

Happy new year perfumistas! I didn't have a big NYE, I prefer to celebrate the day so will soon be going out for lunch, after doing what we call the 'poor man's spa' ie using up some of my massive stash of body care products accumulated over the year giving Mr. Rainbows the spa experience at home (and him me) . Tried to get the kids involved but they rolled their eyes, they are teenagers now so anything mummy does is deeply uncool.

Not decided on what to wear for lunch perfume-wise, I was getting into Oriana last night so maybe that. I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly I've grown to love PDM as a house - giving BDK, mat prem and Bryedo a run for their money for sure.

Happy New Year perfumistas. 😍
I'm very new to fragrance, last few months but have bought plenty. Love reading reviews/recommendations on here and a good friend is guiding me as I'm clueless. 😁
But learning from all the information on here.
My go too for 30 years was Estee Lauder beautiful and love Jo Malone lime, basil and mandarin. I've recently discovered Delina and love it. Didn't think I liked rose but 😊
I'm debating getting the advent this year if I can clear some of what I have make a mindful purchase rather than go mad. Fomo is real. 😃
Looking forward to discovering and learning more. 😍

I’ve got a Sana Jardin Berber Blonde coming from Vinted and I’m quite excited to try it. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Sana-Jardin/Berber-Blonde-46702.html I really like orange, but find the Amber Maquis Bastide too medicinal. https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Bastide-Aix-en-Provence/Ambre-Maquis-47788.html

Has anyone tried Berber Blonde here, what did you think?

RoseTeaLady · 01/01/2026 12:39

Happy New Year all!

I wore perfume throughout my teens and young adulthood, but got out of the habit when I went back to nursing after my girls were were born. Wearing perfume when looking after very sick people was discouraged.
Am retired now and started reading about fragrance early this year. Found this thread, bought from Cult Beauty and was in!
The main discovery this year has been that I love vanilla and amber (always thought I preferred florals.)
Favourites currently are Fugazzi Vanilla Haze, Byredo Alto Astral, Jo Malone Beach Blossom, Armani Si and Jo Loves Amber, Lime and Bergamot.
Am learning so much here. Thank you ☺️

Tirednamechange · 01/01/2026 13:16

Another that is new into fragrances! I am also surprised by what I like, I thought I was only really into very sweet smells but I've been pleasantly surprised with some advent calender finds!

MiaN · 01/01/2026 16:04

Happy Accident Pleasing for me today. Its freezing out! I am going to do something sweeter & more wintery later.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 16:55

Oud for greatness today. So weird I didn't like this at first, then it really grew on me.

Penhaligons Elizabethan Rose for me today, rose and vanilla scents are my favourites and where I seem to gravitate

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 18:30

I've gone for something else now - prada paradoxe radical essence which is just perfect for this time of year, a heavy gournande scent with pistachio notes. Why it was launched in August I don't know - maybe to give it time to gain some popularity before the winter season.

Unless I see any amazing deals or liberty do another scent kit, going to try and calm it for January. I've still got loads of frag I've barely used and loads in storage ready to be sold. Although I quite like having it around so I'm trying not to sell it off too quickly. I've bought another perfume organiser from Amazon - one of those cosmetic organiser things with deep compartments which is ideal for travel size perfumes. I have 3 now which given that there are 24 compartments in each and the three are nearly full can only mean....

I am very fussy about rose perfumes as well vanilla but this one is a hit for me too (Elizabethan Rose). It's very elegant scent.

Rainbows, I get on JHAG Vanilla Vibes too. I can't really say I don't like vanilla, I have so many and like so many.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 19:20

Vanilla Salt by Ellis Brooklyn in the recent snk fragrance cracker, is a saltier version of VV but also very nice.

What are people’s opinion of the DS&Durga Pistachio?
I have it but not sure if I should try it or sell it on.

I wasn't a fan. I've only liked two SJ fragrances, vanilla nomad and sandalwood temple. Only like, not love. I hear they are going out of business now which doesn't suprise me as I always thought they were a bit over priced.

I like it but not love. It's very realistic pistachio - not the sweet stuff, it's nutty. I enjoy it but I have to be in mood for it, it's not one I reach for often

Agreed, it has a patchouli note that stops it being a gourmand, I didn't like this at first but.it has grown on me. It is a 'curious like' not a love.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 20:30

If you are going to sell the pistachio, usual selling sites absolutely flooded with them after the fragrance calendars, I sold some recently and was lucky to get £9/£10.

If you are curious Id say its not worth selling and to try it.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/01/2026 20:32

Decided the vanilla nomad is a bit too astringent/herbal for me. Ive barely used it but if anyone wants to swap it for something, please pm me.

MrsBnow12 · 01/01/2026 20:52

Thanks both, I will keep it and pop it into my stash and try it as not worth selling.
