ooh may I join you?
SOTD is Mon Guerlain, a favourite of mine which I can only really wear in autumn and and winter as it’s a bit cloying for spring and summer. Vanilla with lavender and a hint of patchouli and spices. So cosy this time of year though. I do tend to go a bit nose blind to it if I wear too often.

MiaN · 13/11/2025 09:43

You guys are well scented bunch! Mon Guerlain is gorgeous.

I like that combination. I had a travel size of chamomile satin by dvn that is vanilla + lavender which has nearly run out

@ZeppelinTits Mon Guerlain is one of my all time favourites. It’s comforting and classy at the same time.

SOTE is Ataratma Orris Nirvana: A beautifully elegant, calming fragrance that instantly puts me in a relaxed state of mind. It’s soft, powdery and serene, blending the earthy smoothness of orris with gentle woods and a tranquil floral warmth. Perfect for a quiet evening at home.

I'm also a big fan of Mon Guerlain 🥰

paristotokyo · 14/11/2025 02:10

Mm replica spring time in the park. It’s fine but I’m just not a huge floral fan. Would have prefered if the pear note was more obvious. I’ll use this sample up as a room spray.

paristotokyo · 14/11/2025 02:30

Scrubbed off spring time as life’s too short to wear scents you don’t like. Replaced with vyrao and a small spritz of vanilla 28 over the top. Surprisingly very nice together :)

RoseTeaLady · 14/11/2025 08:56

SOTD yesterday was Fugazzi Vanilla Haze. Went out in the evening, so popped a bit of SJ Sandalwood Temple on top. Lovely combination.
Something cosy needed today - horrible weather outside!

Oh that sounds like a beautiful combination 😍

Another day, another Ataratma fragrance 🤣 I'm actually starting to forget which ones I've worn. I'll have to have a look through this thread and the last. Next time I need a check list 🤣

SOTM is Aroha Absolute and it is gorgeous! It's bright, sweet, and surprisingly strong compared to the others in the set. It is fruity and floral, all wrapped in soft amber. It has a clean, uplifting energy that cuts through the dark, cold, rainy Friday morning perfectly. Awakening, fruity-floral, and quietly grounding all at once. A lovely, luminous start to a busy day 💛

The weather is dreadful, I was out for an hour to walk the dogs and all I want is cozy comfort. It will be Velvet Aura for me again. Blocked nose, I won't be able to test any of my samples today.

BakeOffRewatch · 14/11/2025 09:46

Yesterday was Thameen Bravi, it was actually quite nice in the cold, I’ve only worn in the heat before.

Today is BTSO Dirty Milk. I do feel like I’m using this one just because I have the full bottle. But there was no way to sample it. I like it to sniff but not love it.

Conversely with my Commodity Milk Orchid, I love it so much I use it sparingly 😂 silly me. I should use @paristotokyo approach!

Should I try to sell the BTSO Dirty Milk?

MiaN · 14/11/2025 10:07

Yes, you should.

QueefofSheena · 14/11/2025 10:09

La Bomba today, I’m stuck at my home desk all day so I fancied a loud fruity floral to keep me awake 😁

IDontHateRainbows · 14/11/2025 10:19

Was supposed to be going away this weekend but it's all been cancelled due to the storm - to cheer myself up I ordered at 10ml of ginger biscuit from Look Fantastic. Tried this in store in Selfridges yesterday, it's very festive, quite citrussy which i wasn't expecting but worth a 10ml size at least and at £24 quite reasonably priced. They only had big bottles in Selfridges so had to order.

SOTD is commodity juice, which is a little bit like my beloved Carolina Herrera very good girl. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it is the name 'juice' put me off as some juicy scents I haven't got on with - not a fan of strawberry- but this is quite berry like and moreish.

FINALLY the harvey nichols debacle is over and i have the money back in my account. I had visions of waiting months as some tales on trust pilot are quite scary, particularly where items have arrived damaged or not as described. They must have gone downhill quite recently as I remember them being better in the past. I reckon they are on their way out.

Trying some samples from the Byredo Discovery Box and already I like 2

Slow dance - this is very ambery and woody

Bibliotheque - quite a lot in here but it's powdery and has violet notes

Both lovely, slow dance is perhaps the better of the two as I like the amber but it's got a sweet sensation to it, some ambers can be quite dry.

I really don't need to fall in love with any more Byredo due to cost, but nice to try.

Any Kayali fans, cult beauty are doing the sweet obsessions set at 25% off so it's only £66. Its got vanilla, rose, marshmallow and rock candy. Ideal present for teens too.
I am a bit annoyed as I bought it to get the gwp a couple of weeks ago but I suppose there will always be situations like that.

@BakeOffRewatchI think if you definitely don’t love it, it’s better to sell it to recoup some of the cost

MiaN · 14/11/2025 11:59

@QueefofSheena
La Bomba is perfect for that. It is so over the top but in a good way when you want juicy bombe.

I sniffed commodity juice and I was also surprised how nice it is. I have few Escada summer editions around and they are very much same vibe, so I won't be buying it but would love it if it comes in a set. I am not fan of perfumes that smells like cake or other realistic eatable items, with the exception of fruity bombs it appears! It's a good mood scent.

MiaN · 14/11/2025 12:07

I was doing so much blind buying of full bottles when I got into perfumes. When I got the bug that I need to explore new perfumes 2023, I always loved perfume. I don't anymore, unless it's amazingly cheap like a summary escada. You get the feel you want to try everything at the start and people hype up their favourites. You do get at a point when you have to give up - according to perfumo there are 8530 new perfumes so far this year. Compared to 979 in 2005! And I also learned that I can not find anyone who has same taste as me as we may agree to 5 and passionately disagree on 5 - so I can't take anyone's recommendation and buy full bottles without trying

Apart from few escada I have not blind bough full bottles this year and don't intend to. Even if I really really want to try it, unless I can get to try it in store, get a sample or 10 ml I try to get over it.

MiaN · 14/11/2025 12:15

I know ebay/vinted are good for selling new items, but for used perfume facebook groups can be good alternative.

paristotokyo · 14/11/2025 12:23

By the fireplace as my evening scent. I chose this purely because it reminds me of cold days with the wood burner on. Totally the wrong vibe for here during the day, but I think I can get away with it for night time especially as we had some rain today. I’d prefer this in candle form I think. But I’m here for the cosy warm memories of home!

Jemimapuddleduk · 14/11/2025 12:27

SOTD is shalimar soufflé de parfum, gorgeous and fluffy jasmine, vanilla, citrusy musk.

There's a set with milk juice and gold on sephora black friday but they're dabbers not sprays. I like milk but bold gave me a headache, personal was much more palatable.

Anyone noticed that black friday starts around 1st Nov now? And the price of everything has gone up but then they can't sell them as no one has much money, so they just end up discounting anyway? Crazy!
