Aaargh!! WTF have they done?!

it was terrible before but now it’s going to be absolutely impossible to find the right size.

now if I want a size 14 I can only choose medium which will show me all size 12 and 14s. 🙈🙈

I hope so @mcatmay You seem to have got a response from an actual human!

It seems like our general ire has had impact. I sent a complaint in and received the following message:

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand your frustration with the new sizing options and agree that it was much clearer when you could simply select "size 10," "size 12," or "size 10-12."

We appreciate you taking the time to provide this feedback. I can confirm that we have received a high volume of comments regarding the difficulty of the new sizing system.

Our team is actively reviewing this input and working on potential improvements to make the sizing process easier and more accurate for our community.

We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing your sales and searches. Thank you for your patience!

Best regards,

Ahmed || Team Vinted

Yay for Ahmed!

I have pretty much exclusively dressed myself from Vinted for 3 years now (doing my bit for the planet and all that) but I can’t face trawling through up to 4 sizes of stuff to find what I want. Let’s hope the feedback works, I’ve also sent a message via the website.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 11/11/2025 09:05

I got this:

Thank you for your follow-up message. I want to sincerely apologize for the continued frustration the size chart update is causing, particularly with the search functionality.

I completely agree that mixing different sizes (like showing Size 12 when searching for Size 14) makes finding items much harder. You are correct that the lack of separate sizing systems in our filters is creating a major issue.

I have immediately forwarded your specific feedback—especially the demand for allowing distinct sizing systems—to our technical team. This input is crucial as we work to fix the flawed conversion and improve the search experience.

We are actively prioritizing a resolution to these inaccuracies. Thank you for your continued patience.

Best regards,

Mouine || Vinted

It’s interesting, I have had responses from (apparently) a named human rather than AI, with a completely different attitude. This was the most recent response:

Thank you for coming back to us.

Unfortunately these updates happens automatically and may lead to wrong listing like in your case, however those updates accurately change the size for most users, so we apologize for this inconvenience but please we kindly ask that you adjust and ensure that they are correct in your listings.

Kind regards,

Ghassen || vinted

SheinIsShite · 11/11/2025 09:13

From a buyer's point of view, this really puts me off. Something not fitting is not a reason to return it and I need to be 100% sure what I'm buying. I'm a 14 and I don't want to wade through 12s. I just want to be able to filter by definite sizing.

This is promising!

ThirdStorm · 11/11/2025 10:10

@GargoylesofBeelzebub Your response is much more promising. Hopefully Vinted now realised they have caused mayhem and will reverse their "improvement". I totally agree with the need to do something but how they have approached this is rubbish.

SirChenjins · 11/11/2025 12:54

That sounds more promising than it did - probably not very promising for my bank balance, but it does sound like they're doing something about it.

Cherrysoup · 11/11/2025 16:45

ElBandito · 11/11/2025 13:13

Disappointing, tho, that it isn’t resolved, despite insane amounts of complaints, no doubt.

FaithHopeCarnage · 11/11/2025 16:50

I’ve still not had a message from Vinted saying the sizing has changed. Thank goodness for this thread, or I would still not have known!

FoxRedPuppy · 11/11/2025 20:22

So annoying. I’ve been buying loads as I’ve lost lots of weight. And now my home page is a complete mess!

ThirdStorm · 11/11/2025 21:06

Once all the current listings have been updated by each seller I can see it will make sense again. But when will that happen? Sellers had no warning. And for some it will be hours of work to update each listing!

Hohumdedum · 12/11/2025 09:28

Redburnett · 10/11/2025 10:21

Well I am hoping they stick to it, the old sizing system was not fit for purpose in UK. If selling just edit listings to correct size - it only takes seconds. If buying check label photo or avoid buying.

But nor is this. I don't know anyone who regularly seeks out clothes based on S/M/L. People look for their numerical size. I'm a 10/12 but now I can't search for this without also seeing 8 and 14, and unless someone has photographed the label it's impossible to tell.

It also doesn't take seconds to change if you have 300 items listed....

HighlyUnusual · 12/11/2025 09:54

I must be a bad person but I've been using the chaos of the change to go back through my favourites and send in some low-ball but reasonable offers for things I want. My reasoning is that sellers will know it's chaos and be grateful to offload the stuff now, knowing that it won't get searched properly again for months. I've been right so far, although I'm not making silly offers, I've picked up some nice quality stuff (cotton, cashmere) for winter.

HighlyUnusual · 12/11/2025 09:55

This is stuff I've already searched for by size, though, so I know it's a 14 even if it says 20-22! I can't do proper searching yet.

Maybe I’m just a weirdo then as I usually search for L or XL rather than a numerical size.

fudgesmummy · 10/11/2025 17:44

Is anyone waiting a couple of days to change the sizes on their listings just in case Vinted changes back to the old method?
I’ve got over 100 items of clothing for sale……😡

Yes. I'm in holiday mode for now. Won't make any changes for a few weeks. They backtracked on their stupid changes to postage selection before I think.

Mind you, even if they change it back today the sizes wouldn't be accurate any more because some people have changed already. Terrible, terrible decision by Vinted.

SilenceInside · 12/11/2025 10:10

@HundredMilesAnHour I don't really care if it's a letter or a number, as long as it's a single size. It's the two-size band that is infuriating, as you can't filter out the 50% of the search results that are the wrong size. If I pick 12-14 in the search filter, I am getting mainly size 12s which are totally irrelevant to me as I want size 14 only. And at the moment there are lots of size 10 as well, given that most people haven't updated their listings yet.

SaddlebagSal · 12/11/2025 10:19

I’ve always hated two band sizing anyway because I’m inevitably in between. I’m currently size 14-16 depending on brand, fit, garment etc. I usually have really specific searches, e.g. Seasalt tops size 14. I do not have the time or patience to wade through the current mess of results.

oh well, the local Evri courier will get a break from coming to my house until all of this is sorted

ThirdStorm · 12/11/2025 12:23

HundredMilesAnHour · 12/11/2025 10:02

For me it depends on the brand, for Austin Reed I search "M", for Next I search "14" and M&S I search "12"!

Comefromaway · 12/11/2025 12:31

Same here. I mostly search Size 12 but for All Saints they often have things in a Size M

thenewaveragebear1983 · 12/11/2025 20:57

Don’t know if anyone has previously posted this, but it also looks like you can no longer filter by colour in searches either!

SilenceInside · 12/11/2025 21:08

The search filters seem a bit glitchy. If you don't select a category, some of the search options are hidden. If you choose a clothing category (eg Women -> Clothing - All), then the size and colour options seem to reappear, mostly, for me. I think it's an error rather than a deliberate removal.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/11/2025 21:09

If something hasn't got a picture of the actual size label, I always ask the seller for one.
I don't like woolly descriptions such as:

"label says 16 but I wear it as a size 10"

🤣
