🎄 2025 Style and Beauty Advent Calendar Discussion ***SPOILERS*** THREAD 9

New thread! Will this be the last thread? I think it will last two weeks and we’ll finish on a round number 10. Though Black Friday deals may mean we burn through this and 10 onto 11 and 12!

I’ve started getting Black Friday early access emails for 25% etc.

I'm pleased to say that I'm VERY prepared for christmas. Only 1 present left to get and a handful left to wrap when they arrive, all decorations are up, all humans have an advent (actually except my husband we all have 2), We even saw father christmas this weekend. Husband has asked what I want for Christmas but absolutely will not buy me perfume or beauty things so I have no idea. I'm twitching on the space nk fragrance calender even though I just bought HNs one.

Oh wow, I’m genuinely impressed, and a teeny bit jealous! 🤣🎄 You sound so organised, I’m still over here planning to build a Christmas tree out of advent calendars instead of actually preparing for Christmas 🤣

It must feel amazing to have everything wrapped and sorted already. And you’ve even seen Father Christmas! That’s proper festive goals 🎅✨ I actually no longer wrap until a few days before Christmas, I was once super organised but my house is so small that I don't have anywhere proper to put them so constantly moving them just caused the paper to rip so I ended up rewrapping them.

I'm not impressed though at your husband not enabling your beauty and perfume stash 🤣 So when are you coming round to help me? 🤣

I feel the same! I was irritated when I saw the three free gifts with PDM over the weekend, on top of the reductions for HN and SNK fragrance calendars. But I remember how quickly the fragrance calendars sold out last year, so I’m telling myself that at least I’ve got them both this year even if I did pay full price. Maybe all the manufacturers realised that hadn’t made enough last year and have overdone it a bit this year.

Sarcastic Season 2 GIF by Friends

Yep, this gif just sums me up about pdm right now 🤣🤣

Growlybear83 · 24/11/2025 13:58

🤣🤣🤣🤣

diamondsandrose · 24/11/2025 14:02

Sorry to the PDM’ers who missed out on the discount , I was swithering so have just pressed the button , £60 was a good saving but I did ponder for a while on getting the free gifts instead as they are worth more than £60. But I took the sensible option . Annoyed at Selfridges charging £5.95 delivery though for a £244 speed.

I'm only this organised because I've been using christmas to help me de-stress from the process of applying for an EHCP for dd. Tbh I'd almost rather have a mound of advent calenders for myself 😉 our house is absolutely titchy which is why we've had to wrap, it takes up less space than the 100000s of boxes I had just piled up.

No I feel he's being a big meanie! I get the beauty side tbh but he could get me a few perfumes! I guess I'll just have to buy them from myself.

The downside to being so organised is like you I have missed some bargains, I bought the men's ted baker advent weeks ago convinced it was the best deal and then it dropped again. I just don't have the energy to be too upset about it at the moment.

I took out the yearly delivery thing for £10 or whatever it is last time I bought from Selfridges. Decided it was worth it because their shipping is quite a lot.

It's a miracle I didn't cave on the PDM with gifts yesterday from the website. Also dithered a bit over which was the better deal. The AC plus gifts probably has better value but took the discount for the same reason.

BlueLimes · 24/11/2025 14:46

I’m so tempted by PDM, also sorry if you missed the offer.

I’d prefer Diptyque though.

IlovePond · 24/11/2025 14:57

Hope your day gets better @JoRaRaRa ! You should definitely take your Tesco haul back and repurchase.

Coincidentally I was saying to DS on the way to work today, that retailers could save themselves a lot of return admin by being transparent about when sales/deals are coming up. (He responded that I was very sad for being so invested in bargain-hunting via MN 😼)

IlovePond · 24/11/2025 15:13

I will probably break with my tradition of putting the tree up on 1/12 and do it on Sunday afternoon as I will be too tired on Monday after work. We have a reasonably good fake as I am allergic to pine.

Re: Wrapping presents - I love wrapping presents almost as much as I love buying them, (which is a LOT) It’s not the same as when the kids were little, (I am the only one who still likes Xmas nowadays and DH has always been the Christmas Grinch), but I still enjoy it.

I used to wrap everything on Xmas Eve after the kids were asleep ready for Santa’s arrival, but nowadays I do it super early, so might do it tomorrow or the weekend.

My calendars have been out for a while - it will be weird finally being able to open them from next Monday!

I've decided that I'm marching back to tescos when I finish work 🤣 I'm getting my 25% back 🤣 I can't do anything about the PDM calendar, but I spent £200 on sparkly tesco clothes so I'm off to go get my £50 back. I might actually take a few pieces back as I've also since decided to keep the m&s outfit. I only have 3 night outs planned, and about 8 outfits to pick from 🙈 I do tend to keep stuff in the packaging until I wear it though, I just have to remember to return it.

Tesco is infuriating about it: you have to return them and re buy them to get the discount.

BakeOffRewatch · 23/11/2025 22:00

Haha @LetitSnowball i read your post and thought “my perfect AC! Repeats of stuff I use lots and none of what I don’t!”. Anyway not buying it tonight. Still moves to checkout and pay option for me, I assume it shows as out of stock when people have in basket. Though I guess we’ll really know when @MrsBnow12 is dispatched or if.

Let’s move on to the pet special episode of RHOBAC - has anyone got their cat or dog a treat or toy advent calendar? I saw some cat and dog crackers last year at a craft stall made in a way your pet could play with it and it would open and a treat comes out. I am thinking of doing a stocking for our pet but it would be more for the kids to have new things to play with pet.

Ive bought dog treats today from tkmaxx and pets at home for xmas presents for my 2. . Don't buy advents for them as they would eat it in 1 go, so a complete waste of money. I did look but silly prices.
Bought some puppy treats as well as picking up our new puppy on the 17/12. 🥰

The guy at customer service was obviously on a power trip today. He refused to let me buy the items I wanted back, so I had to go try and find them in the store. He said that the system doesn't process them for 24 hours, our manual till at new look 20 years ago would let you refund and resell 🙄 plus I only did it a few months ago. Anyway, minus the thermal socks, I managed to go get everything else in the store. He then shouted as I was leaving 'did you get everything?' with a smug face. He's lucky I'm not as grinchy as I was earlier 🤣

Aww, a little puppy. What type? Do you have photos? 🩷

I've spent £445 in Mint Velvet in the last 2 weeks and now they have 20% off everything. Luckily all still have tags on so I'm going to try and return them and repurchase with the BF discount.

OvaHere · 24/11/2025 20:39

I'm beginning to think none of us should buy anything October through to mid Nov. Glad you could rebuy @JoRaRaRa and good luck @keepincool

That’s outrageous. There’s just no need. A few years ago, I was in Tesco looking for tinned pumpkin to try to make pumpkin pie. I asked someone in store who condescendingly said “this isn’t America we don’t do that here madam”. Next day doing something else, they have a whole USA section! Small shelf. What was the need!? I avoid Tesco if I can - lots of staff are wonderful and super helpful, not that but our local superstore attracts anti social behaviour and theft. I do really like their kids clothes. When I went in last they had beautiful party clothes, there was a lovely white sequin soft dress.

I'm thinking the same. I think I thought that because I wanted something that everyone else would want it too and that everything would sell out straight away 😕 next year, I think I'll take my time a bit.

Problem is next year could be different. Hardly anything hung about last year. Beauty stuff anyway.

Wow! That's just rude 😡

I'm not sure why that guy acted so put out tonight, the 25% wasn't coming out of his pocket. They've got a white sequin dress in at the moment which is beautiful 😍 I didn't rebuy some of the outfits so it's ended up saving me quite a bit going back tonight.

I might have more in my stash next year anyway, I've not really bought much this year, well until the last few months when I've gone wild 🤣 and I think it's going to take me a while to get through it all

German Shepherd.
Bit of a funny photo but had to crop it. 😍
