🎄 2025 Style and Beauty Advent Calendar Discussion ***SPOILERS*** THREAD 9

New thread! Will this be the last thread? I think it will last two weeks and we’ll finish on a round number 10. Though Black Friday deals may mean we burn through this and 10 onto 11 and 12!

I’ve started getting Black Friday early access emails for 25% etc.

I've got the pooch and mutt pigs in blankets one for my dog. She's old now though and hasn't got many teeth left so I'm not sure how she'll get on with it 😔 last year, they did a cheese one and she loved it so I was hoping to get that one again. I wish one of them would do a soft treat ac for dogs 😕

I've also got my chocolate one. Does everyone else still get a chocolate one? 😊

I got the same one for my dog. She loved the cheese one last year so was hoping for that, but I’m sure she will appreciate the pigs in blanket one. I got her some treats as well to wrap up for Christmas

BakeOffRewatch · 23/11/2025 22:00

Haha @LetitSnowball i read your post and thought “my perfect AC! Repeats of stuff I use lots and none of what I don’t!”. Anyway not buying it tonight. Still moves to checkout and pay option for me, I assume it shows as out of stock when people have in basket. Though I guess we’ll really know when @MrsBnow12 is dispatched or if.

Let’s move on to the pet special episode of RHOBAC - has anyone got their cat or dog a treat or toy advent calendar? I saw some cat and dog crackers last year at a craft stall made in a way your pet could play with it and it would open and a treat comes out. I am thinking of doing a stocking for our pet but it would be more for the kids to have new things to play with pet.

Thanks for mentioning about the pet ACs, I hadn’t yet sorted DDogs.
Ive not started on the Christmas threads yet so haven’t seen any possible deals, last year I got a freebie one for her

I've no idea what to get her for Christmas this year. Usually I'd get her toys, but she's always looked after them so she has loads, she still has some toys from when she was a puppy and she no longer plays with them as much 💔 maybe she'll have to have a new sweater. She's a toy pom so she feels the cold in winter. I've just treated her to a new coat and a light up harness. Oh she probably could do with a new wraparound towel as hers in all pulled now.

IlovePond · 24/11/2025 00:05

I picked up a dog a/c in Aldi yesterday - last year I hit a bargain one from Pooch and Mutt 🐶 I had forgotten about that until someone mentioned it tonight on the Xmas bargain thread.

Re: make up

I don’t always wear makeup when I am at home but I often do - not because I feel I have to, but because I enjoy doing it. Putting makeup on usually cheers me up for some reason. (Plus, I have rather a lot in my stash to get through 🙀)

ChannelLightVessel · 24/11/2025 01:02

DCat1 had an Advent calendar a couple of years ago: on about day 6 he managed to open the box and eat all the rest of the treats. DCat2 has digestive issues and can only have anallergenic food, or he throws up.

BlueLimes · 24/11/2025 06:12

I can still add SNK fragrance to my basket on the app and get to checkout in case anyone tempted.

UndoRedo · 24/11/2025 07:12

After getting the M and S one last year, and still not having used many of the products, I got the Loreal one on a whim as it was £73 and I use a lot of their products already, and it's a 24 day calendar! I'll have to wrestle some of the things out of the grasping hands of my 16 Year old DD tho!

I've kept looking at l'oreal, and I'll probably be gutted when it sells out but I don't get on with the skincare so I'm not sure if it's worth it for me. Though saying that the worth it lipstick looks gorgeous 😍

I better get some chocolate ACs for the children too I guess 😁 I bet they're all sold out by now.

🙈🤣
There were still plenty of chocolate ones in asda yesterday. When I was looking for dog ones a few weeks ago, some were sold out, so I'd say to prioritise the dogs 🐶🤣

Even though we've all been discussing this since July, it still feels like December 1st has come around fast. It felt like I had plenty of time to do everything and now I'm like 😳 I may not even have time to put the tree up this year now. I was meant to do it this weekend but I like to do a deep clean before I get the decs out and unfortunately, I've not had time 😕 I may have to do a normal clean and leave the deep clean til January. I need to find homes for these edits that I've bought recently. January is usually very good for storage boxes etc.

Branster · 24/11/2025 08:47

We're in a terrible situation @JoRaRaRa 😂😂😂
I shall do that: priorities the dogs! And grab whatever I can for the kids.
I didn't want to go out shopping today but I will make the effort to get this done. I'm panicking because I've only just realised how close we are to the 1st.
I haven't planned the proper cleanup either. I must do it this coming weekend.
I have tons of actual work to do this time of the year but I shall do all I can to clear Christmas jobs this week.
No idea if DH has been contemplating buying the Christmas tree yet. Hopefully he's on the case...

Do you get a real tree? Luckily we only need to get ours from the loft. But it does feel like such an effort. Maybe I should just create a tree of advent calendars instead 🤣

I know, it's exciting but also sh*ttttt!!! 🤣

I'm going away on Thursday evening for the weekend and I'm to be in the office on Wednesday, I also need to go get some thermals from somewhere before I go so I don't think I'll get chance to clean this week 😕

Peridot1 · 24/11/2025 08:55

@Branster - I’m doing the pre Christmas clean this week too. Although am out tomorrow getting my hair done and doing some shopping and it’s DH’s birthday so I’m cooking too. Need to wrap his present - a whiskey advent calendar - and find the card I bought a few weeks ago.

Sadly no doggie advent calendar needed here as we lost our dog a year ago. I got DS a chocolate one. He’s 24…… wasn’t bothered for a few years but asked for one again last year.

I am resisting any more calendars- sticking to my one - the Boots skincare one. But it will be tempting with discounts…. Almost got the L’Occitane one from CB but resisted. Really don’t need more. I don’t think I’m at the stage of some of you - but could very easily be!

Thelifeofawife · 24/11/2025 10:48

@JoRaRaRa Mine destroys her toys but she does have a couple of firm favourites that have stood the test of time. I tend to go through her toy box early December as her birthday is also that month, then I clear out the tatty ones, any that only have 1 ear or 1 leg, or have no stuffing left in them 😅

I like the idea of a wraparound towel - do you have a link or recommendation for that?

I am also very behind my Christmas schedule. I’ve bought next to no presents for anyone else, I was supposed to deep clean the house the last 2 weekends but that didn’t happen, and I’m still tripping over BAC/edit boxes! I do have some time off work coming up though so I’ll just have to use the time to get stuck in then. I like to have the tree up by 1st December so it’s going to be late this year. I used to not put it up until 13th but the run up to Christmas felt too short so I brought it forward a few years ago.

I can’t believe we are only 1 week away from December!

MrsBnow12 · 24/11/2025 11:34

For those following the Cult Beauty advent, I got a dispatch notification earlier so should be with me tomorrow.

BakeOffRewatch · 24/11/2025 11:54

You sound like me. Very prepared on beauty advent calendars, very unprepared on everything else 🤣🙈

I started off so well with presents, and then I just haven't bothered since October and now I've only bought 2 presents. My husband spent the money I withdrew for money wallets. So I feel a bit overwhelmed now. I don't know when the tree will go up 🤣 maybe next year!

JoRaRaRa · 24/11/2025 12:03

@Thelifeofawife i can't remember where I bought the dog towel from last time. I might have to hunt online. I'll let you know if I find anything 😊

The saving on PDM has totally ruined my Monday. I started off so excited for next week 😭😭 and now I feel like the Grinch!

If it makes you feel any better I did buy it with the discount but I'm feeling guilty about the totally unneeded splurge this late on. I didn't want to regret not jumping on the discount but still feeling slightly regretful anyway because I did not budget for it in any way. 😳

Maybe I'll hide it until Spring and call it a birthday gift. 🤔

I've certainly done that before, impulse bought due to a great deal and then almost immediately regretted it. I think you should open it on Christmas and then count it down as intended. You have been really good and restrained recently so I believe you deserve a treat and an amazing Christmas present. Then maybe get you could refill it to count down to your birthday? That's a good idea actually, I might give it back to my husband to do me a birthday countdown 🤔 I'm sure I'll forget about my Grinchy day when I open it come christmas.

I'm happy that others are getting a bargain, and I would be 100% on it if I didn't know my husband had already bought it, but the amount is gutting especially when I won't be receiving it for another month.

I'm just feeling down today as I went to tescos yesterday and spent a fortune on clothes and they now have a 25% off event on 😭 I can't help but think that I could've put all that money towards other things 😕 the same happened in summer and I did take it back and rebought it, but it's just a messaround and I'm sure my husband has already taken the labels off his clothes even though I told him that I bet the same happens as last time and it all has 25% off the next day 😡 My mum also was a bit funny with me this morning so I'm just down. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I might put some christmas songs on and try to de-Grinch 🎄🎉🎅 does anyone have any other de-grinching methods? 😂

BakeOffRewatch · 24/11/2025 13:15

I absolutely hate that feeling of regret @OvaHere and @JoRaRaRa , sorry the situation has turned out the way it has. You’ve wanted the PDM for a while Ova. You need to wear clothes so wouldn’t worry too much about that @JoRaRaRa ! I was buying school uniform this summer and apparently all sold out cos they had a 20% off the week prior - how was I supposed to know! Buying anything these days feels like a complex, need to be in the know, game. Each week I check where nappies, wipes are cheapest because they can vary week to week shop to shop by £10 depending on “special offers”. I’ll stop here before I go on my Clubcard/Nectar prices rant 😂.

I'm pleased to say that I'm VERY prepared for christmas. Only 1 present left to get and a handful left to wrap when they arrive, all decorations are up, all humans have an advent (actually except my husband we all have 2), We even saw father christmas this weekend. Husband has asked what I want for Christmas but absolutely will not buy me perfume or beauty things so I have no idea. I'm twitching on the space nk fragrance calender even though I just bought HNs one.

I've decided that I'm marching back to tescos when I finish work 🤣 I'm getting my 25% back 🤣 I can't do anything about the PDM calendar, but I spent £200 on sparkly tesco clothes so I'm off to go get my £50 back. I might actually take a few pieces back as I've also since decided to keep the m&s outfit. I only have 3 night outs planned, and about 8 outfits to pick from 🙈 I do tend to keep stuff in the packaging until I wear it though, I just have to remember to return it.

I feel the same! I was irritated when I saw the three free gifts with PDM over the weekend, on top of the reductions for HN and SNK fragrance calendars. But I remember how quickly the fragrance calendars sold out last year, so I’m telling myself that at least I’ve got them both this year even if I did pay full price. Maybe all the manufacturers realised that hadn’t made enough last year and have overdone it a bit this year.
