Me three!

Neither of my parcels are showing as dispatched and I've been asked to give an honest review 🤬
So tempted but I don't want to be struck off Kindred !
Very poor show

MiracleToast · 31/12/2025 09:54

@hicat i also bought a few pairs of socks as gifts and gloves and a cap and they all arrived in parcels with the label from “marketplace” on them. It definitely seemed like they had come from a third party although I wasn’t certain and haven’t seen them do this before but four parcels showed up like this? I thought it odd, they were full price items not sale.

hicat · 31/12/2025 10:12

@MiracleToast yes mine were full priced too! Though they did run out of the items shortly after I bought. 🤔 they did seem rushed wrapped and the bag wasn’t branded like usual. But then maybe I’m being overly discerning (one item was a £200 purchase so I guess I deserve to be!)

MiracleToast · 31/12/2025 10:19

@hicat yes I think it was for me because it was so out of the ordinary. (I’m not great with change in details!) Makes sense if they’re coming from the shops? Although something about “marketplace” signage made me think of Facebook and eBay, perhaps that’s where the caution in my mind comes from! Hope you liked your item x

oddandelsewhere · 31/12/2025 10:21

I got seriously peeved this morning and phoned customer service to ask where my striped smock is. The person I spoke to said that the warehouse are currently working through sending thing out for orders made around the 23rd. She tried to use bank holidays as an excuse as though they had just sneeked up on them. HIRE MORE STAFF! The attitude seemed to be that we will all get the things that we've paid for when we get them. And they may well get all mine back quite quickly.

Off to Ludlow for a nose round OSKA.

Floisme · 31/12/2025 11:03

Oh dear, I've popped into this thread to see what the typical time lag was between sale orders and delivery. I ordered the straight wrap skirt on Sunday (28th) and, apart from the confirmation email, I haven't heard a thing from them since. But it sounds like I'm way down the queue and that I'll be waiting a while yet.

And yet an order with World of Books, that went in last night, is already on its way. Hmm

oddandelsewhere · 31/12/2025 11:17

Same with Waterstones, next day.

Floisme · 31/12/2025 11:23

Yes. I get that it's a busy time and that it's not always easy to hire extra temporary staff, but a statement in the confirmation email, explaining how long it might take for an order to arrive at this time of year, would go a long way.

ScottishMouse · 31/12/2025 11:26

They are clearly prioritising orders with express shipping. I am still waiting for a despatch email for an order placed early on the 24th. But I placed an order at lunchtime on the 29th which arrived yesterday and I have already returned some of this morning. It would surely serve them better too for there to be a quick turnaround of items in the sale. The items I returned today will be back to them quick enough to sell again this sale, but the ones that are taking very week to even dispatch will get returned too late and will have to hang about until the next sale.
The takeaway seems to be that if you want your order quickly, you need to be willing to pay for delivery. I used the £6 Royal Mail option not the £8 dhl one. If you return everything, you get £3 of that refunded, so you need to weigh up how much you’re willing to pay for a quicker service I guess.

faustina · 31/12/2025 11:31

Maybe they will speed up now they're back from their Christmas days off?

My final order (so far), made on the 23rd is due to be delivered on Friday which is quite annoying as my first order arrived on Christmas Eve and I was hoping to keep it until the other had arrived. It's only a week before they need to be returned isn't it? I can't decide whether to keep the patch pocket stripe tee and I think it has to go back today!

As you've all mentioned above, I'm much more careful about what I buy - not just at Toast - far fewer impulse purchases, but I also have quite a full wardrobe and do generally wear what I have now, not just admire it on the hanger. My full price Toast purchases have generally been the most successful - also some of the reworn ones

Hope they add more things soon - especially home

CakeAndJazz · 31/12/2025 11:34

@faustina I think it’s 14 days from delivery for sale items

Saurus72 · 31/12/2025 11:35

My solitary sale purchase - a silk bandana - has been delivered and is being returned. Just a bit meh. I bought it with a vague plan to attach it to a bag I use in summer, but I already use a silk scarf that was a Kindred gift a few years ago for this purpose, and it is as-nice quality. So no need for a replacement. Very glad to be moving on from thinking about it!

BettinaInDenmark · 31/12/2025 11:35

I placed an order before Christmas, and it arrived in a parcel shop two days ago. I only opened the parcel this morning, and among all the very creased dresses, tops, shirts etc were a pair of ugly bordeaux long eco cotton socks that was not part of what I ordered. A gift or a mistake in the warehouse?

Ah well, hope to get to try all items on today, and decide what to keep. Hopefully I will not like it all ;)

OrangeyLemon · 31/12/2025 11:35

Some of the things I ordered on the afternoon of the 22nd won’t arrive until 2nd Jan now. I thought they were coming today but Royal Mail sent them to the wrong place. Some are arriving today between 1:40 and 7:40pm, instead of our usual morning delivery. I’m a bit miffed as we are going out late afternoon because it’s New Year’s Eve, and so they will most likely arrive 2nd Jan too. It does seem a long time to wait. I do get that there are several bank holidays and a Sunday to contend with but I paid for these things ages ago!

CakeAndJazz · 31/12/2025 11:37

@mizu are you after the patch pocket dungaree dress? Uniform Research has an XS on sale at the moment (slightly reduced only though, and only the one size). Not sure if that helps.

mizu · 31/12/2025 11:38

@CakeAndJazz ah thanks for the info, but I need a S. XS will definitely be too tight round the bust.

faustina · 31/12/2025 11:43

@CakeAndJazz - oh thank you - that is really good news!

ScottishMouse · 31/12/2025 11:49

Up here in Scotland, the 2nd is also a bank holiday, so no hope of any deliveries now until Saturday :(

Guess what just arrived?
First parcel

Earrings and socks are lovely, will keep

Striped Crinkle Cotton Nightdress-nothing special, going back

Indigo Twill Shirt Dress -nice fabric , really gives a nipped in waist but the bulge of fabric above the waist gives the toast low slung bust look.

Going back

Second parcel

Seaweed night dress-didnt like the colour

Embroidered Poplin shirt
Strange arms, I felt like the Angel of the North 😅
Both going back

ScallopShellWalk · 31/12/2025 12:31

@CashmereCat great you got your parcels. Earrings sound nice. I never buy jewellery as my mum left me all hers and as I hardly wear much of it I feel guilty even looking at jewellery. But you saying you like yours, I’m thinking it’d be nice to look. What do they look like?

As @ScottishMouse said, up in Scotland we have an extra day to wait. RM is saying Saturday delivery on 3rd for my orders placed 23rd and 24th. I wonder how long the parcel from the shop in Wales will take? I do wish they had all arrived already. I oscillate from bored to excited. Currently as I have little to do right now I’d like them to arrive and am quite excited about it.
Consequently I been looking through past collections. Which on one had is bad news as I’m seeing more things I like but on the other hand it’s good news as I realise styles and colours repeat and I can wait on future runs.

MsDastardley · 31/12/2025 12:32

My second parcel arrived this morning. The dappled leaves dress is going straight back, nothing that I liked about it. Disappointing sale, only kept an Archivist dress and a couple of pairs of socks. There are a couple of things I like which are full price so going to order those once delivery is back to normal

ScottishMouse · 31/12/2025 12:33

Well I have heard back from Toast CS about the charge for the items I returned. They have said that the items were “refunded” from their end, so they will contact Harper about it. No apology at all. Sigh.

ScallopShellWalk · 31/12/2025 13:01

@ScottishMouse thats terrible to have to go through and sort out. It’s put me off considering Harper. I hope you get your money back soon.

ScottishMouse · 31/12/2025 13:02

To be fair @ScallopShellWalk i have just received a refund notification from Harper, but of course that will take a few working days to hit my account. I’ll probably not use the service again tbh.

ScallopShellWalk · 31/12/2025 13:23

@ScottishMouse thats good it’s been sorted out quickly. I won’t use them now. If they can’t sort out the one job they have then I won’t use them. It’d have been better even if there was some communication before hand confirming the money would be taken. That way you don’t get a shock and have time to dispute. I hope the funds clear quicker.
