@oddandelsewhere I totally feel this about the order I am still waiting for. I got two orders quite quickly (one I paid for next day delivery). On Christmas Eve I reordered a jacket that had arrived with buttons hanging off, and now I am so bored waiting for it to even be dispatched that I might send it back anyway. What is that about??
I also ordered from Finisterre @Saurus72 on Christmas Eve and it arrived yesterday! I was so impressed with the speed considering it said 3-5 working days. Thinking of placing another order with them this evening, and anticipating even that will arrive before the Toast one.

Saurus72 · 28/12/2025 18:22

@ScottishMouse Finisterre is a new discovery for me this year (their wool socks were the gateway, they’re brilliant!), so v hopeful for my jumper! Was your order good?

ScottishMouse · 28/12/2025 18:28

@Saurus72 my oh looooves their wool socks and has some he has been wearing for years. The socks are not for me, and I find their clothing is not often cut for my shape, but their outerwear is outstanding. I’ve had a few jackets, all of which have been great, though most of which I have now outgrown. They have a good resale value on eBay/Vinted though. I have been swithering on winter coats here for a while, but decided to just go with what I know will work for my lifestyle and the climate I live in (and the moths in my house) and ordered their Elova coat. I waited to see if it would be in the sale but sadly not. I am now considering trying the Lapwing jacket for spring and maybe the Sidus coat as a cheaper alternative to the Elova as that one is in the sale.

Saurus72 · 28/12/2025 18:33

Ah yes - I’m not sure how my jumper will work out but have high hopes. I tried one in a different style in a shop and it was enormous, though seemed v good quality. Good luck with the coats.

ScottishMouse · 28/12/2025 18:37

@Saurus72 they have great jumpers. I have one that I bought a few years back and it still looks great. I also tried the navy roll neck eyre this year and loved it but absolutely did not need another navy jumper!

oddandelsewhere · 29/12/2025 08:57

It does seem to take a long time for things to be despatched/delivered. I had been feeling slightly sad because I will probably lose Kindred. I have bought very little in the last year, partly because the current colours could be on a list of things guaranteed to make me look frightful (not their fault!) Partly because the quality seems to have deteriorated while the prices have escalated. The thing which has really irked me in the last couple of weeks apart from the ridiculously slow despatch and delivery is that they seem to have started doing the Plumo thing of selling items manufactured by other people with a large mark up. I bought 2 beanie hats for my sons Christmas stockings, lambswool, made by Mackies, from House of Bruar for about £35 each, and I am sure that they are identical to the Toast ones, lambswool, made by Mackies for nearly £50! Bruar have more colours too.

So I'm still waiting for my cotton linen easy sweater which has supposedly been sent but which the Post Office say they haven't got yet, and one of the striped cotton smocks which hadn't even been sent yet. Losing Kindred isn't much of a loss if you always have to pay for next day delivery in order to actually get items in a reasonable time frame.

OrangeyLemon · 29/12/2025 09:22

I ordered lots of things on the afternoon of the 22nd, 2 are being delivered today, the rest (except one which has still not been despatched) are expected by Royal Mail. I guess we get excited for the sale, splash the cash (too much in my case), and then there’s plenty of time for buyer’s remorse to kick in. There’s the adrenaline of making a purchase but no reward. I’m wondering now why I ordered what I have!

Saurus72 · 29/12/2025 11:13

@oddandelsewhere Who really knows about Kindred - what the qualifiers are? I just looked back at my purchases for the past year which has been a v v scant Toast year (not for the want of looking, just hardly anything that appealed) - 2 dresses, 2 tees, 1 jacket, 1 silk bandana, just over £700 spent, mix of sale and full price. My kindred renews in January so I guess I’ll see then if that’s enough! But given how much Toast charges now I think it’s highly unlikely most would ever pay postage anyway 🤷‍♀️. Unless ordering a pair of socks I guess?

@ScottishMouse My Finisterre jumper just arrived - the Cavan in oatmeal. I’m completely delighted with it. Great shape and fit, wool feels nice and £66! I had been considering the Toast wool cashmere neat jumper in oatmeal (I already have one in another colour and like it), but I think the Finisterre one is a better shape for how I will wear it, over dresses, most of the time. V pleased!

Countmeout · 29/12/2025 11:46

My first two orders arrived this morning. I have one on its way, not sure if it’s even reached Swansea.

The binding skirt is a keeper for me. I ordered S . It’s very comfortable and I am not That light at the moment. Good length. I mean it’s a length I like. (Will post photo I am 5”4”) I did not expect to to keep the matching shirt but I am because it makes a lovely set and the shirt will go well over black or cream trousers. I ordered 10 and 12 in this. I am keeping the size 10. It is very generous.
I am returning the gloves that may be men’s , think they are, a Taro blue shirt - just too long and difficult to style for me.

i am waiting on the same sweater as @oddandelsewhere , I have tried many colours in this sweater and none have worked. I’m not sure why I thought it would this time (hadn’t even had a glass of wine) and a pair of socks.

Countmeout · 29/12/2025 11:47

Here’s the binding skirt and top.

Yorkshirelass04 · 29/12/2025 12:23

That looks amazing @Countmeout how is the fit? Are those shoes from Toast as well?

ThePieceHall · 29/12/2025 12:29

My Fracap monkey boots arrived today, as well as the midnight/navy long jersey sweatpants. The boots are absolutely heavenly and will be worn to death, given my history with Fracap foorwear. The jersey trousers will become a (boring but comfy) staple as I have them in charcoal and they were an absolute lifesaver earlier this year following a bad accident where I had two arms in casts so could not do buttons or fastenings. But, I’m probably a High Street size 10/12 and I ordered large for the comfort factor. Lordy, unless my mirror is telling me huge porkies and I have ballooned since the menopause, the waistband on the size L is not generous.

IlovePond · 29/12/2025 12:39

That looks lovely @Countmeout

Ordered a gift this morning and decided I better pay for next day delivery as the order I placed on Christmas Eve has not dispatched yet and I need this gift in a few days time. An hour later and the order has been dispatched. Crazy.

OrangeyLemon · 29/12/2025 13:21

My cotton canvas pleat front trousers have arrived and they are rather lovely. I feel a bit land-girl in them, which I’m liking. The fabric is gorgeous. They’re perhaps a little shorter than I would have liked ideally, but I think the look over all is fun. I’m just under 5’8.

Stoic123 · 29/12/2025 13:34

My second order (jackets/coats) is due to arrive tomorrow. All the Finisterre talk made me look at the site and I have jacket on the way - so Toast order now has competition.

First order (wood printing kit) arrived today and looks very cute - will make a nice gigt with ink pads.

Nice set @Countmeout.

ShanghaiDiva · 29/12/2025 13:46

Countmeout · 29/12/2025 11:47

Here’s the binding skirt and top.

Looks lovely! I have ordered the skirt and at long last it’s on its way.

faustina · 29/12/2025 14:28

@Saurus72 - I tried to find the Finisterre jumper you mentioned and can't see it. Was Cavan a typo or has it disappeared as sold out?

@Countmeout - they look amazing - can see why you kept both pieces!

My cord Gabis have arrived even though there was no notification that they'd got further than the 'Royal Mail are expecting this parcel' on the tracking. I'm on the shelf about them and will try again tomorrow.

My brass tees are still marked as unfulfilled and I'm going to be so upset if they don't happen!

Saurus72 · 29/12/2025 15:49

@faustina - it’s sold out! As soon as the oatmeal one arrived this morning and is so nice I immediately went back to try and order the other colour that had been in the sale before Xmas (a grey-brown) only to find it wasn’t there any more. Am in Cambridge tomorrow so planning to look in the shop.

Countmeout · 29/12/2025 15:59

Thank you all for your kind comments. I wouldn’t have looked at it if I hadn’t seen it in person in a shop. I hope those who have ordered it love it as much as I do.

@Yorkshirelass04 I think it’s quite a generous fit overall. The 12 in the shirt was very big, especially in the sleeves, if I had needed it in the bust I would have had to take the button in at the wrist and even then the sleeves were long, so I found quite a difference in the two sizes, old story, Toast sizing entirely unpredictable. The skirt is a larger fit than the blue summer skirt . Those are the Vibae closed toe shoes, I got those from Toast - amazingly comfortable.

@oddandelsewhere my sweater is now on the way, I got the notification from RM after lunch, hope yours is too.

clearsky · 29/12/2025 16:38

@OrangeyLemon I also got the cotton canvas trousers which I had my eye on for a while. I see what you mean about “land girl” but I am happy with that. I’m 5’7” and happy with the length.

mizu · 29/12/2025 17:08

@Countmeout that looks so good! I love that skirt so much.

mizu · 29/12/2025 17:52

And I’m glad you said it wasn’t too small as I’ve just bought the skirt on Vinted in a S!!!!

oddandelsewhere · 29/12/2025 18:30

@Countmeout your checked outfit looks fab! I slightly regret promising not to buy any more black clothes.
My jumper, like yours, is arriving tomorrow. I think they must have packed and sent a giant cotton linen sweater batch all at once. What colour did you order?

Primrosespaw · 29/12/2025 18:48

I just wanted to share my love for the cream kantha stitched waistcoat, which arrived today. It felt like a bit of a gamble, however, it fits really well and is a little work of art. I have tried it layered over a Toast long sleeve stripe t shirt. and a few other bits. It will be more useful than gave it credit for.
