The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

I have. I’m completely broke now but I couldn’t resist 😆. I won’t buy anything else now this year, unless Ortigia decide to release an advent calendar, then I really would be in heaven.

Not yet. I'm hoping to get the HN fragrance calendar, if I can't get that, I might buy the PDM. I could do with going back into town to have a try of Delina. Last time I went, I focused on Valaya so I can't quite remember if I liked Delina or not.

I'm tempted by the carolina herrera 12 days calendar. They also do a 24 days - £145 the 12 and £299 the 24 which seems odd pricing, the 24 days should be less than 2 x 12 !

I think it was earlier on this thread that people were chatting about the recycle scheme at Boots … I’ve signed up so thank you for the recommendation.

question though, how do clean everything? I’ve got a Mitchum deodorant, the solid stick style, how do you get all the crap out of the bottom? Or a toothpaste tube?

Do they really need to be spotless?

@buzzing No need to be spotless. I will try to clean things if possible, ie rinsing out a tubs or tubes (I always cut the top off to get the most product out!) but don't bother with things like toothpaste tubes or old mascara or lip gloss where it would be more difficult to clean

Oh please show when it arrives!! I am very tempted as i do want a new bottle of Delina, so it would make sense. I have already spent a fortune though🙈

I had the M&S one last year and was really disappointed with a lot of it.

What is the Holland & Barrett one like? I remember some good reviews.about it on here last year.

I just don't want to spend a fortune on it.

I’ve talked myself back into HN Fragrance.

Carolina Herrera is beautifully presented and the extras are good. There’s always a code too. I’ve just bought some La Bomba from them and got a Good Girl blusher, a nice travel wash bag and some perfume samples.

I hope the Eve Lom UK advent calendar is going to be the same box as the US version 😍

I don't usually buy same brand calendars as usually they're expensive with not much of a saving, but I'll be on the look out for this being reduced. I'm currently using the cleansing balm and eye cream and love both. I shared my stash a while ago and wouldn't mind building on it 🤣 That big retinol serum 😍

The HN fragrance calendar does look really good. I hope I can get 1.

I feel because I started buying early, I'm just buying and buying 🤣 I can't wait to see my husband's face when I pull out all the calendars on 1st Dec 🤣

I had thought that I'd buy the m&s one if I spend at m&s whilst it's there, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get it. But maybe I won't. I feel for £60 it is good value, but I also don't want to feel like I've wasted money as £60 could be spent on a really nice edit 🤔 hmmm.

@JoRaRaRa. You will have to do what I do and keep a couple of calendars in another room where your husband doesn’t normally go 😆😆. I blame my husband entirely for all this - he bought me my very first calendar - Jo Malone - five years ago. I didn’t know such things existed before then let alone that there were websites and forums to tempt you to buy more 🤣

Yeah, I think we're all a bunch of enablers on here 🤣
We only have a 2 bed semi and even though the 2nd bedroom is meant to be my office, it becomes the laundry room in winter, so he does go in there 😔 part of me wants to see his face whilst I bring them all into the living room. I now have visions of piles of BACs in the living room and him being unable to get to his 'seat' 🤣😈 He does know though that I'm selling things on vinted to buy more advent calendars as he's been helping me, so maybe he wouldn't be as surprised as I'm envisioning 🤣

I didn't like M&S last year, so I didn't buy and won't be this year either. So much same old same old.

Holland & Barrett is also a bit meh to me. It's also sold out.

I've put the brakes on quite a bit in the past week or so as I recognise I can get carried away. Still looking at a couple, but have to say that the excitement has subdued somewhat for me. I think the actual volume of ACs / early releases this year / a lot of reveals has just made me feel a bit fatigued by it all. I simply can't maintain a constant level of interest in so much stuff as I get bored so quickly and I know that the thrill is often purely in the acquisition for me. Having said that, I'm keeping my eyes peeled just in case that Perfect For Me Calendar comes along next. (Fingers crossed for JL Home Fragrance)

I'm rather proud that I made my own Frankincense and Lavender whipped hand and body butter last night too, so that's been keeping me happy and occupied.

Yes. the base was our own beeswax melted with olive oil, organic coconut oil and mango butter. I added some of our honey then the contents of 4 vitamin e capsules. Finally I fragranced it with Frankincense and Lavender essential oils. It went in the freezer to cool then got whipped with a hand blender. I made 2 litres in the end and it cost me about a fiver! I could imagine this making cream / butter will become quite addictive. I've been slathering it on my arms and legs and they feel great. Might do some more with a different scent. I'm going to have to buy some nice jars as I've ran out of the tins I was using. Here's my little production line:
