The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

I'm thinking about this now.

I started looking on Vinted for my wishlist that I made from all the other advents but it feels like hard work and I'm not enjoying it all!

Also, my wishlist is based on the advents but I really should take time to think what else I may actually want.

Recently I bought 3 staples that came to £90 and I almost felt sick. I am so used to the great value of edits and BACs that paying full price (even with CB 20% discount code) feels extravagant and a bit daft! But I use these 3 products every day: CT Setting Spray, Elemis Apricot toner and Benefit brow kit.

I'll wait for a good GWP, I don't feel like my advent budget is properly done yet because I had BD credit for Liberty, Harrods fragrance is such good value its like its free (!) and LF fragrance I've already opened. Real beauty addict logic, there!

Thanks @OvaHere! I really wanted Rituals for DD but £103 felt ridiculous - £76 is more the thing. I didn’t get the beauty bag but did get samples of foundation and face cream, both brands I hadn’t tried before.

I have just bought the Tatcha vitamin C serum from Vinted. I am not sure I actually need it as I have plenty of serums but it is one of the main things I fancied in the Space NK calendar and a £30 Vinted purchase is cheaper than buying a £260 calendar. I think that justifies it 😆

I restrained myself from buying the Rituals a/c last night. Feeling ambivalent about that choice today because I do like Rituals and it was my favourite last year BUT I still have lots to get through!

On the other hand, it never seems to ‘go off’…

I tried to copy the list but I got blocked from MN for half an hour for being naughty, so not trying that again!

Men’s moisturiser - why?
Sunscreen - but only because I bought that exact bottle in the summer and it’s still unopened

Not sure about the gel eyeliner.

Most of it is duplicated from last year - but sadly NOT the Ginza shower gel!

I am still using up the contents from last year, (plus a Shiseido gift bag that I got for Xmas birthday), so, unless I find a really good discount on it, I think I’ll pass.

I agree. How mean-spirited. And how stupid of Harrods to not limit the number one could buy, such as 2 per customer, or whatever.

They did limit to 2 per customer for the fragrance calendar, but determined people obviously get round that.

I’m a bit shocked to see that someone got so many fragrance calendars and I hope they get stuck with them too. I suppose they must have loads of different email addresses to have got that many. It’s not surprising that so many people missed out.

For me it feels risky to spank so much especially just to price gouge…

I'm sure it'll turn out to be worth it. Irritating though.

How much are they selling them for? That's a massive spend for 17 calendars at £215 each (£3655) 😳

Just ordered Jo Malone for my mum as a treat. Put it named delivery for 22nd( which was why I waited until that day for delivery was open so very careful on order) - when I got the confirmation it came through as 18th when no one will be home.
Took 20 minutes to get through to customer services who were appalling, can’t cancel order , told it’s up to me to contact DhL and rearrange at the time. No apology, I asked them to look at their online system as I was very careful on my order. Basically told it had to be my error!!
Thats one long term customer Jo Malone have lost
