Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

Mines with bloody DPD who were supposed to deliver today but apparently im 20 deliveries away so don't think its coming today. At least its not cancelled.

Don’t give up hope - I had deliveries from DPD and Evri at just before 11 pm last week!

Fingers crossed you get it today. Mine turned up in perfect condition fortunately. I was a bit worried after someone mentioned one of theirs smashed.

I can see where he is on the tracking - about 5 miles away and I don't know how many people in front of me so it'll be a close one. God speed...

in other news Carolina Herrera have released not one but two addy cals and I'm a big Herrera fan

Selfridges frag finally arrived but like another poster one is broken. They havent wrapped these very well. It's the colonia, which i didn't want anyway. Ill see if I can get a full refund as the other poster did.

Had a moment of inspiration earlier... I've been playing Omaze for longer than I care to admit and the cost has just gone up to £15 per month which is just like throwing money away really. So today, I cancelled it and will put that £15 aside each month as my little splurge money for some of the gorgeous skin care sets I'm coveting as a result of following you lot from the shadows.

2026 will be the year I finally have beautiful skin!

If you wanted to, you could get a monthly subscription box for around £15?

As soon as I saw the hourglass palettes, I decided I wanted the fox one. I love foxes 😍 I also put the swan colours into it, they're lovely 🩷 I got the brush too, I can't wait to open them on christmas day. I used the code MAJ for 10% off, but I found loads online when I looked 😊

I didn't think m&s was out yet? I've been selling off stuff from my Harrods one and I'll be listing some things from the SpaceNk one when I receive it 😊

Already.. why?I dunno why but I feel they should be for advent. Otherwise they’re not really advent calendars, they’re just beauty sets. 😕

They’re marketed as AC but they are products in a box. I know a lot of people who started to buy AC for first time in past year or two and do it blind, they want the surprise and luxury and aren’t bothered about being disappointed. But a lot of people do buy and resell, when I had a look on Vinted there was someone selling from Harrods and Liberty, I posted about it earlier cos I didn’t think I could be bothered! But given how much people resell for people cover the cost of the calendars. It’s become a whole thing.

A few reasons, I don't usually sell anything, this is my 4th year buying BACs and my 1st year selling anything, but I was a bit disappointed with a few of the drawers so I bought some replacements and sold off the DoDs out of mine.
Not everyone uses them as advent calendars, and not everyone celebrates christmas, so if I list them now, I can capture those who don't celebrate whilst the hype is there, and also capture those building diy calendars and hopefully get some money to buy other stuff (hoping to put it towards the Harvey Nicks fragrance calendar).
I will still have advent calendars, but just merged ones with stuff I like or want to try 😊

I guess for me — the whole point of an advent calendar is that you are surprised when you come to open them in December. Isn’t that all part of the joy? You could always list them in Dec / Jan if you really don’t like them? 🤷‍♀️

I guess I’m just traditional like that. And I like the novelty of not knowing and saving until Christmas month 💛

Yeah, I can see it’s become a thing now. I find it a bit sad… 🙁 sorry, I’m just sharing my opinion here, not trying to throw shade on anyone here personally. I guess it’s consumerism gone a bit crazy. Might as well open up our Christmas presents in October 🤣

I love talking about ACs on here, comparing, and getting excited with others. However, I think I draw the line at opening them early and selling them off straight away.

That’s me though. My Harvey Nichols one has been stored away. I have a rough idea what could be behind the windows, but I’m looking forward to the surprise on the run up to Christmas.

Part of the excitement for me is looking at the contents, watching the unboxing videos and spoilers and then deciding. They cost a lot of money, so at first it was to make sure I was getting stuff that I needed before buying, but now it's become tradition for me to do that. I then stop looking, put it away and forget about it so it is a surprise again come December 😊

Stylevana now available on EU and US sites. Still not UK but it must be arriving there very soon. Going by the the price on those sites I think it will be around £155 ish.

My husband (bless him) is now asking me what fancy advent calendar I am buying him? 🤣💗
