Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

@psuedocream3 oh that is even worse at least I ended up with 10 perfumes, a pile of glass and a very lovely smelling box (which I am keeping next to my desk until the smell fades so I can get at least some benefit from that perfume)

I was a 9-11 SNK window. I added to basket and proceeded to … not… buy it 😆

There has been some close competition between the major beauty retailers this year I’ve found!!!

I looked at the products of the SNK and feel I’m only interested in 35% maybe 40% of the products. I shall be scouring Vinted for the smaller sizes of these so I can try them!

Yes probably, but it had the opposite effect on me. I was relieved when it sold out as the fragrances were playing on my mind 🤣

Oh nooooo 🙁 I'm glad selfridges have sorted a refund for you but how gutting. A full bottle of Britney spears perfume once smashed in my handbag, I could smell it for months after 🤣 my mum refused to get me another bottle 😭🤣

hopefully you can find it on vinted/ebay - and will be less than £90 so you can be quids in. Good of them to refund the whole thing.

And last year they took ages to despatch some of them as they took too many orders at once. I'm not regretting not ordering this year. Holding out for Fenwick and JL

@IDontHateRainbows actually that's a good idea. I can get the broken perfume on vinted/eBay didn't think of that . I wish it had been one of the ones I was less keen on though typical
It was amazing of Selfridges to refund the whole box I wasn't expecting that I was just hoping for a replacement perfume. They really do give good service and I will definitely use them more in the future because of it.

First LF Fragrance unboxing I've seen. Mines taking forever to say it was sent out Saturday. I looked at the tracking and I think it will arrive tomorrow or Thursday.

Thanks @MrsBnow12 - got the link from this, went in, put the skincare calendar in my basket, put a few other things in from £10 Tuesday - and I'm now sitting thinking 'hmm, do I definitely want this?' 😂🙄🤨

Just skipped through this video. Day no 25 is incredible for the price, it comes in a beautiful presentation box with a ribbon. Even Harrods didn't do that with their JM.

Im so gutted I missed LF fragrance. Didn't expect them to sell out so quickly

No sign of the Boots calendars on the Irish website. The option to sign up for early access was only available for the No 7 ones. Hopefully that doesn't mean they're not selling it in Ireland as I really like the look of the skincare one.

I cracked and ordered the SpaceNK calendar (after deciding I wasn't going to buy it last night) while sitting about waiting in the queue for London Film Festival tickets. Then I spent £150 on London Film Festival tickets 😀😖

I feel validated having seen that others have had a similarly expensive day 😊

Well done everyone on getting their advents and so sorry that the Selfridges fragrance wardrobe was cancelled, that would bug me, we take so long to decide! I have got mine and was hoping for H&B for DD but it is so similar to last year I am really put off. The cleansing oil isn't used up from last year yet and the scalp massager thing is especially ridiculous twice and quite ecologically questionable for a green beauty type place, disappointed and would need to be really reduced for me to be tempted. Now still on the look out but have also reviewed most, hmmm

The calendar looks better there than it did on paper! But I'd like to see a video made by someone who knows a bit more about fragrance than this person - it was a bit frustrating at times!

I would be careful about putting beauty products in the loft. If it gets hot, then stuff will go off faster.

I think so too. It also wouldn’t surprise me if they re-stock it. They are trying to create FOMO.

Yeah, I waited weeks for mine last year, despite ordering during the pre-order. The did send me a voucher as an apology though.

Selfridges set has arrived! Only one im not keen on. Maison Crivelli, Cuir Infrarouge. Would give to my partner but then i still have to smell it🤣 So would rather sell.
