Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

I've just had email for grumm early access advent. Forgot I got this last year. Bit boring but good value and zll usable and gift able. £50 same as last year. Mainly full sizes. Sorry I'm not technical so can't add a link

Yes I saw that video when it came out. I put it on a mental list of things I may quite like. I could be tempted by this gift edition.

@owlexpress. Well spotted! I would be tempted if it gets reduced significantly as, despite the water, there’s quite a bit that I would really like. But even this one has too much makeup for me.

I think beauty edit sales have slowed this year. That could be because they've gone a bit mad releasing loads them or have produced in larger quantities? Last year and the beginning of this one I feel like they used to go by same day or next day.

CB still has 5 edits several weeks old for sale including the Fenty one. The Boots K beauty box is still available when the previous sold out in about a day.

I have no idea if any of this translates to AC's but it's food for thought. All the big name calendars will sell out without too much trouble but we could get offers on some of the mid priced ones in a month or so.

My liberty calender has come and it's gorgeous! I think I'm going to try and sell the trinny, Lisa eldridge and jones road. I actually have a couple of trinny lip2cheek products that I've git from edits. Do they sell well?

Violine from Trinny is going for around £10 inc postage on ebay. I've not tried Trinny before so this was one of my 'want' items from the Calendar.

I had a look at the Sahara shade of the Hourglass lipstick in person - it is very warm so I'll sell it when I get my Space NK AC. I wasn't keen on the Phlur Vanilla scent either - very bakery. Actual lipsticks seem to be thin on the ground this year - lots of calendars have lip oils or similar and no lipsticks. I have a list ready for items I'm looking for on eBay - I've already got my JM Myrrh & Tonka. I'll get my daughter to swap them over in my AC's again this year for me.

Calendars rarely sell out before mid October-ish I think. Usually, once one or two of the big ones sell out, the others quickly go, as people panic buy what’s left! 😆

I was the same. Just came on here to find it 3 pages in!

Had just decided to buy the LF fragrance calendar this year and it's already sold out 😭

To be honest I am relieved LF fragrance has sold out . I was sorely tempted but I know I don't need it as have masses of perfume (including 6 of those in the advent😂)
It also focuses my mind on wether I want HN fragrance advent or not ( I think the answer is no)

I'm the other way. I thought it might sell out same day so it's taken a little longer. Glad I bought it now as I'm not sure if I'm going to end up with a BAC or not.

The Dr Levy eye has been in an edit for sure as I have one and wouldn't pay that kind of money for it. It's OK imo. Nothing amazing. Interesting to see the real prices! Thanks Hiccuping. 🤩

Well in the case I think I will stick to the SNK
And sell a few things that I know i won't use/ duplicates.
If i buy the CB too I could end up with a lot of stuff i won't use

It still makes the SNK worth it for me as there will still be lots of items I want to try and or top back up.

Then by saving money on the CB I might after all get the new HG ha.
I'm off to NYC next month going to look for some edits there too.

Did you see the top cash back is including cult beauty and f&m foodie one (not f&m beauty yet!) Not bad deals…

I wonder if LF fragrance has sold out because people were managing to use Quidco for good cashback.

I was just coming on to say the same. If you have FOMO, but not so much cash to spare, it's not a bad option.

Last year I had the Holland & Barrett one, I only wanted about half the items but it was great value for money so I would recommend that one.

I thought the Liz Earle 12 day one looked quite nice But I Do Not Need Anything Else. I might actually get an old AC box out and add in the items in my stash! I have the H&B one from last year and an Elemis one from a few years back.
