Annual Style and Beauty Advent Calendar discussion thread. First AC reveal this year was 23rd June. First luxury reveal was 2nd July.

The regulars on the thread mainly discuss luxury BAC and this dies down by September when everyone has purchased and forgotten the contents. Then it goes into discussion on what’s selling out, what hasn’t and what deals and discounts to be had on ACs in the lead up to December. Then in December we move onto AC opening threads!

Has anyone had anything about the Harvey Nic fragrance advent yet? Doesn’t seem to be live but thought was in sale from today?

Is it just me or is the HN fragrance calendar not yet available on the website? The main calendar is available to order now but the fragrance is still showing as coming soon.

My first thoughts reading this were you can't eat a bac. 🤣
But you can sell bits on to buy food! 🤩

Not seen it yet. The BAC is on early access for Rewards members. Annoying that free shipping is £300+. I wasn't planning to buy JL but still annoying to have shipping on top.

Email customer service asking to refund the postage as it says delivery is free for the advent and for anything over £35. Thats what i did, and they refunded me instantly :)

I thought the fragrance calendar was also meant to be on early access today. I agree that it’s annoying to pay postage.

It was originally said that the Fragrance AC would be released on 30th September, and I’ve never seen any change of date from HN tbh, I think a lot of the beauty sites have maybe just assumed it would also be released on 4th with the beauty AC.

I think the fragrance AC came in quite late last year too.

I Suppose that makes sense. I can’t remember if I just assumed that both calendars would be available on the same days. I’ve checked my order history and I bought the fragrance calendar on 17 October last year.

I have the Virgin Wines calendar every year.

Space NK have ruined my plan.

For a few years they had an October GWP and you could get the beauty advent calendar and get the free gift.

They have released a GWP now and you can't buy the advent calendar yet! Damn.

The GWP actually looks pretty good. There's loads in there I know I like or want to try. The only duff for me is that I already have loads of mascara waiting to be used so I would pass that on. I think I might get a few full size things I want and use the GWP as my advent calendar! There are 26 samples in it....

GWP and calendar would be fantastic and absolutely make the decision a slam dunk.

Gift cards get emailed to you after purchase so you can't use them with the calendar purchase. It's a 'money off' in your head calculation.

I think they will release the calendar next week after the GWP has ended unfortunately. If they did combine I'd be very happy.

I'm holding firm and still not buying CB even though technically I'd be buying for £185 with points and gift cards. I keep looking at the contents and I just don't want enough of it. Not sure I can deal with the hassle of putting 3/4 of a calendar on Vinted for the sake of a few items I want.

Ah OK, I thought I could use it against the advent calendar 😕 I'm also going to step away then 😇

I think I've settled on the SpaceNK this year. Loved Liberty but doesn't feel varied enough this year.

As a newbie to this one is it a likely sell out and roughly when is it released (seems like next week from the above?)

Yes it will sell out. Maybe not immediately and last year it came back in stock again but if you want it then buy as soon as it goes on sale. It's probably the best offering for mainstream appeal this year so I think it will sell quickly.

I think I'm going to get SNK too. Although I did say that about CB. 😂

I don't actually know when it's going on sale. Next week is a guess.
