M&S full briefs

I'm almost embarrassed to have embraced the massive pants.

I go hiking and often find my high legs ride up and get stuck in certain places and need constant adjusting under the trousers.

I couldn't handle this on another long hike and bought a pack of M and S full briefs. They literally dont move. Full bottom coverage so nothing rides up or down. They just stay put. So comfortable I wore them to work under a dress.

They are bloody ugly looking though and I cringed when I saw myself getting dressed.

Any other recommendations for pants that stay put, are comfortable?

Wirapa off Amazon are the dog's doodahs imo.

I embraced full briefs when I hit my 50's as I couldn't be doing with uncomfortable undies anymore. Not all of M&S briefs are plain and ugly. I have some Flexifit ones with satin inserts and you can also get full lace ones. Welcome to the world of comfy undies.

Oddballs knicks are good. The big ones.

SirChenjins · 22/08/2025 14:59

Sainsbury's full briefs are brilliant. Depressing, but brilliant.

How is the sizing on those please I've seen them recommend on here before thank you

I’ve had Sainsbury’s, M&S, Matalan and Tesco before. All good.

Ive been wearing them since getting pregnant at 34. I’m 40 now. They’re not pretty look at but sooooo comfy

Betheadore · 22/08/2025 15:10

I actually think they look better. Maybe it's because I've worn my big cotton pants for so long, I've become oblivious. But they fit nice and feel so comfy that I feel good in them.

Get yourself to Peacocks for the patterned 5 packs of pure cotton.

Bliss.

Bonjamin · 22/08/2025 15:13

Nope, I love them. I think they’ve got a 1940’s pin up vibe or that’s what I’m telling myself.

slowraindrop · 22/08/2025 15:25

I love the Tu modal big pants with the bit of lace at the top. I get excited if I spot a new set of colours 😆

Same here! Grin

DramaAlpaca · 22/08/2025 15:34

Yep, switched to big pants a few years back. My goodness they are so comfy! Not in the least bit sexy of course, but I suppose you can't have everything. I've got some from M&S and some from Tesco.

Love the idea of rocking my inner 1940s pin-up @BonjaminGrin

MellowPinkDeer · 22/08/2025 15:35

Life is too short for uncomfortable pants. You enjoy the full briefs and don’t worry about it!

IllBeLookingAtTheMoon · 22/08/2025 15:37

I think they're really flattering on a lot of us, actually. Very retro swim dress

AngelsWithSilverWings · 22/08/2025 15:43

Sloggi go daily high waisted £26 for pack of three.

I've tried so many from M&S and they all move as I walk and I am constantly adjusting them. These stay put and are the best full brief type knickers ever as far as I'm concerned. I wear medium in these and they fit perfectly whereas in next or M&S I seem to be between a 10 and a 12 and never get the for quite fit.

YouOKHun · 22/08/2025 15:55

@CalzoneOnLegs My SiL recommended this brand to me as I was whinging about the quality of a lot of high street brands. She bought some Wirarpa “big pants” size XL with 40” hips and they were apparently fine and not meanly sized (great quality too).

I transitioned into full knicks a few months ago. Wish I’d done it sooner. I wear these. They’re so comfortable and look nice too.

They look nice, but do they give full arse coverage? So many claim to be full briefs but are cut on the diagonal so end up wedged up the middle.

Lottapianos · 22/08/2025 16:17

I've been in full briefs for several years now and never going back. M&S, Sainsburys, Matalan all excellent

Teddy589 · 22/08/2025 16:21

Yes comfy pants FTW! The only thing I wish is that the M&S ones were as good quality as they used to be, they definitely feel cheaper these days and don’t last as long.

Yes, they do.

shellyleppard · 22/08/2025 16:30

I get mine from Primark, £3.50 for a three packet. Very very comfortable and cotton too

TheChosenTwo · 22/08/2025 16:30

I always thought I wore the full ones but I recently bought some new full brief ones and realise the ones I always had were definitely not!!
These ones come up so high on my stomach! No more or less comfortable than my old knickers but I do die a little inside when I pull them up 😂 they are shoved at the back of my knickers collection now for emergencies only and now I need to have a good think as to the style I used to buy.
I do like full bum coverage and coverage up to my belly button but no need for my pants to meet my bra!!

SpottyDottie98 · 22/08/2025 16:42

Same. I got a pack for after I had a c-section. They weren't meant to be forever, but I've not gone back 7 months later. I'm trying to lose some baby weight, so holding off buying anything new until I'm the weight I want to be, so interested in the suggestions here for the next time I am knicker shopping!

Plus I find on some of them the gusset is narrower.
