M&S full briefs

I'm almost embarrassed to have embraced the massive pants.

I go hiking and often find my high legs ride up and get stuck in certain places and need constant adjusting under the trousers.

I couldn't handle this on another long hike and bought a pack of M and S full briefs. They literally dont move. Full bottom coverage so nothing rides up or down. They just stay put. So comfortable I wore them to work under a dress.

They are bloody ugly looking though and I cringed when I saw myself getting dressed.

Any other recommendations for pants that stay put, are comfortable?

Yep. It’s sad, but true. All hail the Big Pants! 🩲

OnePinkDeer · 22/08/2025 18:07

Great I feel so much better now and will look at all the recommendations.

Especially for hiking i can't be arsed to have them ride up pardon the pun.

I tried these and you’re right they are enormous. I binned my pack of three as they were so huge even going down a size. Huge
knickers but with a weirdly narrow gusset. Pulled up they met my bra.

Are they true to size? Very tempted to get some!

I recommend Boody full briefs. Expensive but good quality and so so soft and comfortable!

Life is too short for uncomfortable pants. You enjoy the full briefs and don’t worry about it!

I find m and s knickers come up a bit smaller.

I get Freya pants sometimes and I noticed a 12 was way bigger than a m&s 12. So I buy 14 in m and s but then the waist is a bit big.

I love a big pant too. Surely they are no different from men wearing boxers? I regret my years wearing tiny scraps that prob didn’t do me any favours anyway

PinkArt · 22/08/2025 18:39

I love full briefs. Like PP said, they are vintage pin up style, plus they're perfect under a dress on a breezy day.
Marilyn Monroe looks sexy as fuck in full brief bikini bottoms. And we all look just like her!

Another vote for wirapa. I'm 18-20 bottom and wear the XXL. I Iove the boxer briefs with cotton gusset for daytime and the high waist y front looking ones in bed. Gussets are nice and wide!

My full briefs are small compared to what my granny (born 1887) wore. She had those loose knickers with long legs that had elastic in the hems. They were known as 'finger trapper drawers' supposed to protect you from wandering hands. Also known as 'Harvest Festival drawers' because all was safely gathered in.

Try the M&S high rise shorts, they used to be called Midi, and are just as good and comfy on the bum as the full briefs but an inch or two lower on the waist so they don’t have that awful granny effect. I recently bought the full briefs instead by accident and couldn’t cope with how they looked, but the shorts are much better.

That's great thanks.

Is the bottom coverage the same as the full briefs? On hikes I dont want to get a wedgie!

Yes, they stay put all day, no hoiking up or down needed!

They’re not really shorts at all, they’re knickers that are slightly lower on the waist than the full briefs. Maybe they renamed them to appeal to younger buyers?

But don't these cut flabby, menopausal bellies in half? I want my pants to reach up past the flab to my belly button! M and S lace top full briefs for me. The lace makes them slightly less unsightly.

Abcdefg22220 · 22/08/2025 20:41

Thunderpants are insanely good. Soft, sturdy, stretchy, wide sturdy gusset, come in mid and high rise. They are quite pricey but last ages. Life changing!

Edited

My M&S midis reach to my tummy button. I haven't bought any new ones lately, though. It sounds as if they might have changed.

ChompandaGrazia · 22/08/2025 20:48

I love the full brief. Once you’ve worn them there’s no going back.

I also agree with Wirpa. Their long legged knickers are brilliant under a dress to avoid chub chafe.

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 22/08/2025 21:15

I transitioned to big knickers in my 40s. The bigger the better and they must cover my belly button 😂 I started with Next full knickers then moved onto the M&S ones. Feck the G strings or the high leg, arse eating, 'sexy' knickers. Nope, massive pants for me 😁

Wirapa off Amazon are the dog's doodahs imo.

Came to say this. I’ll never wear anything else.

flightofthecorkers · 22/08/2025 21:46

My people! Big knickers all the way.

When I first moved over from high leg briefs and their ilk I feIt I'd thrown in the towel but what the heck, they're comfy, offer sensible coverage and who the hell is looking at my undercrackers these days? Oh yeah, DH. Tough bazookas.

Thank you for the recommendation. I nearly passed out with excitement when I saw their super high-waisted knickers. I'll be able to tuck them into my bra for the winter 😂 My finger couldn't hit order fast enough!!

SouthernNights59 · 22/08/2025 22:19

I've been wearing big pants for a long time, boyshorts mostly, and I think they are more sexy looking (not to mention comfortable). They aren't too high on the waist however, I can't stand that.
