So my déjà vue feelings that we had discussed Leti’s dress before were correct. I even looked back trying to find it but then fell asleep. The link is from 2nd July and, given the dress, has nothing of merit in its’ colour, design or fit I would be amazed if it is worn twice. I can’t believe it even got worn once frankly! No idea of the cost of it but if I was Leti I would have repeated a dress from my extensive wardrobe for the event and chalked that one up as a mistake.

Edit: the link shows it was worn last summer as well as on 2nd July this year. It must feel nice on when the Spanish weather is too hot for tailoring is the best I can say.

A snap of Amelia, princess of orange, has been released of her and her friends on a trip to Greece before her recent graduation. Not much to say style wise, they all look like lovely early 20s girls on summer holiday. Oh to be that age again! I look back on pictures of me at that age and think I look amazing with hindsight! Didn’t think it at the time!
Glad she is having the chance to relax and have fun like a normal girl her age. Particularly after the threats etc a couple of years ago.

What a lovely picture. It's just so nice to see happy young people enjoying themselves, and especially with what Amalia went through, as you say.

I think you must be right, @Choux .

I went to the Cartier exhibition yesterday. I work for a company that does some arts sponsorship and employees are able to just turn up, show their pass and get in without booking. It seemed like a good option on such a wet morning. I had watched a video on the V&A website about the Manchester tiara and two other pieces so it was quite exciting that that was the only item in the first room. The tiara room was amazing and as I was alone I couldn’t help but eavesdrop on what the 98% female visitors were saying to each other - lots of wows and choosing their favourite pieces.

Several pieces were lent by the king - not sure if any were tiaras though - and it got me thinking about if anyone has the ability to see their Spreadsheet of Splendour tiara in the flesh? Mine is a Belgian one so not sure if their jewels are ever on display. I am off to research now.

Maireas · 20/07/2025 09:16

Thanks, @Choux , that sounds interesting, and that tiara looks like a classic Cartier piece. Beautiful and elegant.
I read that the late Queen's dresser, Angela Kelly, had a huge ledger with everything written down. A sort of Book of Splendour! She would tick off pieces loaned to family members and keep a record of what had been worn, and when.

Charlene looks lovely. An asymmetric hem alert! However, I think that the cut and fit if the dress are excellent, so the hem and pattern just add some interest and don't detract or look wrong. Beatrice is as elegant as ever, and Caroline is ageing gracefully. She's such a beautiful woman, it must be very tempting to have all the work done. Beautiful earrings. The twins look very sweet and I do think Albert is looking a little more svelte!

TwerkingRoyalNotWorkingRoyal · 20/07/2025 09:57

Yes that's how to do it! Lovely dress and Charlene looks fab although not keen on the white courts!

Maireas · 20/07/2025 10:00

Ah, we had a lot of division over the white court shoes last summer! I'm not a fan either...

Charlotte does look very casual in both hair and outfit compared to Beatrice. Personal taste? Born to it v married in? Who knows.

That hairstyle seems to be Charlotte’s summer 2025 style. Here she is with Caroline and the same messy bun a couple of weeks ago. She’s wearing a Chanel dress that has an upper bodice reminiscent of drawn curtains!

Charlotte's dress does look like curtains, however, slightly better in the full length picture! I love Caroline's dress in that picture. The green and orange is gorgeous and I love her shoes.

Charlotte dress is beautiful.

FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem · 20/07/2025 10:56

The group shots of the Monagasques did make me smile. Despite all the glamour, the royal antecedents and the (no doubt) very expensive photographer, they still didn't manage to get a shot of them all smiling and looking in the same direction at the same time. It makes me feel slightly better about my own family snaps, it's like herding cats sometimes! 😆

KiIIingMeDeftly · 20/07/2025 11:42

I feel like Charlotte pulls off a lot of more avant-garde outfits simply because she's very beautiful and would probably look good in a bin liner!

deeahgwitch · 20/07/2025 12:06

Oh my word !
The photo posted by @KillingMeDeftlyof the Monaco Royal Family - I didn’t recognise Stephanie.
In fact I took a double take.
She actually looks like one of my cousins. Who was gorgeous in her youth- known for her good looks - dark hair and beautiful dark eyes.
I laughed at your description of the photo @FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem
Yes, taking a family / group photo is as easy as herding cats

eggandonion · 20/07/2025 12:54

I want Princess Caroline's dress when she's finished with it!

FlightwasfromNewark · 20/07/2025 18:33

Long time lurker here enjoying the jewels and, usually, the clothes. A question if I may, why is Mary of Denmark referred to by letters, I think EQB or similar? Marie too, I think she was called something beginning with FW on a board last year. Thanks.

Maireas · 20/07/2025 18:46

I can't think what those initials mean? We used to refer to her as CPM (Crown Princess Mary), as we refer to the Swedish heir as CPV. (Crown Princess Victoria).

Mary was EBG (eternal birthday girl) as she had rather extended 50th celebrations. No idea about Marie, I presume you mean Mary’s SiL?

Oh yes, I remember that! She did have a goodly amount of 50th birthday celebrations!
