I don't think I have the headspace for another Harrods advent debacle! I can only assume Harrods accounts system cannot cope with preorders which is insane. I have checked my order and still pending/processing. Haven't checked my bank account but I paid with some rewards also and they haven't been reimbursed so I am going to put my head in the sand until either my advent arrives or they cancel. I feel less worried this year as we did all end up with our advents in the end last year although had to jump through a few hoops to do so

I think if this was my first year purchasing it may have encouraged me to buy a bit more, only slightly, as I need little encouragement to spend on beauty. 🤣
I think now it's a great way of getting others views on what's worth it and what isn't and not get caught up just watching unboxings on youtube then ordering without sleeping on it incase it sells out! 🤷

Here’s my pricing of the F&M. Are Liberty and F&M the only luxury full reveals we’ve had so far?

F&M don’t do brands I’m interested in but I really like their approach to ACs. Everything is a proper full size in every product type. They say they have 23 full sizes, I count 18, they’re counting the bag and headband as full size. I don’t count less than 50ml as full size fragrance, 250ml for hair care, though there isn’t any of that in this calendar. I think it’s a solid offering if you’re an F&M beauty hall fan.

I’m a fortnums fan - I’ll be ordering - there’s only a few things I want use. Liberty I loved but I’m now undecided. Will have to play a risky roulette waiting for spacenk, John Lewis and possibly cult beauty.

@MrsBnow12 i find the lists hard to judge as I get distracted by all the stuff I don’t want. I’m only into skincare, and whilst I could say I’m getting this much value off skincare for a lot less, I think it helps to see how little of the value is on other areas. Im
just looking at the Harrods now, I love MZ Skin and hadn’t realised there were three separate products from this brand in there.

I do think it’s a bit irresponsible of F&M to put something like that in an a/c, (or to put it in a perfume at all). Lots of people don’t read/ignore warning labels on things, unfortunately.

It’s a good calendar, though. I like the skin care. I’m quite entertained by the reappearance of the once ubiquitous Bum Bum cream in an a/c, (they were everywhere one year!) I’m a bit surprised to see it in such an upmarket calendar, though, and I say this as someone who loves the stuff!)

Yeah, the eye cream is one of the products I'm excited to try and it's full size too. I did a spreadsheet on harrods 🤣 (been busy at work) but it says it's too big to upload 😕

I'm sort of in the same boat @BlueLimes the calendars all have at least one product I really would like and the rest a bit take or leave - ranging from would happily use it to put it on Vinted right now.

Things I would want the calendar for

Liberty - AB The Rich eye cream, La Mer lip balm, Vanilla Powder perfume, Trish M lipstick, Granado perfume.

Harrods - Medik8 retinal, MZ Skin Eye Complex, La Prairie Cleanser, Evidens Mask, U Beauty compound, Christophe Robin Mask.

Harrods 12 Days - Champo Hair Serum, Oribe Shampoo & Conditioner

Harvey Nichols - AB The Rich Cream, CT Lip Blur and Granado perfume (these last 2 more towards nice to have really)

F&M - Cult51 night cream, Cult51 neck cream, Jo Malone hand cream (JM is borderline want/nice to have)

Fenwick - Neals Yard cream, Thameen perfume (unless dupe of one in Harrods fragrance), Hourglass product (depends on what it is and if I own it already)

Selfridges - Ex Nihilo perfume

So based on this Liberty and Harrods have to be my current front runners but even with those two there's not a lot of products I desperately would like out of the whole calendar.

Harrods has slightly more nice to try outs for me than Liberty but the AB rich eye cream from Liberty is probably my stand out most wanted product across all the reveals so far.

Hence I'm taking a chance on the SNK and CB reveals and hoping Liberty and Harrods don't sell out in the meantime.

@OvaHere your thought on Liberty and Fortnums are pretty much the same as mine. I love the vanilla perfume.

I could get 2 (plus m and s if good).

I’ve a feeling look fantastic will be good, latest in beauty has been pants past few years do that might be good this year.

I normally buy one as my gift to me 🤣 pil give me cash I never spend on me as don’t really need anything, so I’ll use that this year for the second.

It’s a dilemma and hoping they don’t sell out while I’m away at end of August !

@BlueLimes I'm sort of regretting not using my BD vouchers on Liberty now because that would have been a 'free' calendar and I would have felt more able to justify another.

It's not even just the cost, I don't want to add loads of stuff the stash I'm not that enthused about. At the same time I want a calendar to unbox in Dec. 😂

@OvaHere ah I get that. So my stash is not just under 50 and some of those are minis. I had so much stuff - so I categorised it and that helped work out what I had too much of (pretty much everything). I have no serums or night creams unopened- honestly didn’t think that would ever happen.

have you any BD left? Could still order but - still some to come. If spacenk teasers are true - that could be really good …

@IlovePond clary sage isn’t officially or medically classified as such, so I guess they’re not obliged to, but I was told it’s not even allowed to be brought onto some maternity wards or women’s health departments as it can start contractions. If you google it you can see specific trust’s guidance on essential oils. The perfume description says it was worn by Winston Churchill, I’ve noticed a lot of the fragrances in the calendars are quite woody and masculine, rather than floral and gourmande.

@Growlybear83 the wash bag and head band detract don’t they. I’m not a fan for Bamford either, I just associate it with hotels. It is nice stuff.

@JoRaRaRa i have the MZ eye cream from the 2024 Liberty AC and I think it’s great. Can you upload a screen shot of your spreadsheet? Cropped to leave out anything identifying? PP have done that in previous years.

@BlueLimes i tried the Matiere Vanilla Powder in store last week and it smelled like pee on me. I came home and DH said I smelled very teenager-y, I’m guessing scents like So…? from when we were younger. I’m hoping it’s just a hormonal thing, as I love Thameen Bravi!

It stresses me at times @BakeOffRewatch advents are going to be my last hurrah before I become more mindful and do a 2026 low buy. I kind of planned this year to be a bit of a splurge on me things as very soon I'm going to be supporting DS through Uni with what is currently my fun money so I know it's coming to an end.

Thanks for the info @MrsBnow12 I quite like the sound of the CB calendar so far but those of us who have bought a lot of their edits (super guilty!) I fear there could be quite a few dupes.

This is my skincare stash (minus another bag of moisturisers and serums I store uptight) I really do not need anything else but know I will be buying at least one or two advents and plan on a low buying next year, bought far far too many edits and boxes this year but have loved trying different things.
