I've just seen discussion on a FB group about the pending payments disappearing for the Harrods fragrance calendar. Seems it's happening to a few people. One person contacted their bank (see screenshot) and was told that it was because the funds hadn't been claimed within 5 days.

I don't really understand that. In what way does a business need to claim funds? Surely when you've paid that's it? I don't pretend to know anything about business banking for a company the size of Harrods but it seems weird.

Maybe justmylook? Also sainsburys did a calendar last year that was quite good, and it was on a nectar price offer.
One food calendar that has been good is Degusta, although last year it wasn't as good.

I think I'm interested in a fragrance one. DH promised me a scent for my July bday, but I don't know what I like. Think I can persuade him for a fragrance calendar 😂

Fabulous summary @BakeOffRewatch . You could add Grüum to the single brand list. It was very good last year.

There is also Brown Thomas in the luxury brand. They I can't remember if they ship to GB but they ship to NI and Ireland.

I’m guessing there may be another sock calendar from White Stuff too.

The Neom one definitely isn’t for me at that price point, (although I like their stuff, I don’t even have a diffuser and it’s full of the oils!) A better idea would have been to have a calendar that came with a mini diffuser, rather than just the oils.

Is it just me that finds it weird of SpaceNK to do a wishlist/guess/forecast of what MIGHT be in their own calendar? 😹

Except I doubt we'll get the sock one for truppence this year like we did in 2023 (I think).

Latest in Beauty /Stylist usually do a multi brand mid range- (on website and dynamically priced on TikTok 😕)
Space NK did a fragrance calendar too last year and it was excellent.

Though not male grooming, I bought my teenage DS a My Protein calendar last year and it was really good. I’ll be looking out for another one for him this year.

How strange! I wonder if they will try and take the payment again when it’s due for despatch? Or if they will just cancel the order saying it wasn’t paid for. It’s so frustrating, I missed out last year and have been diligently following the threads in the hope of securing one, and I have only ordered one so it’s not that I’ve done multiple orders. I think if this doesn’t go through then I am destined to not ever have one 😂 and karma is telling me something.

I've just checked my bank account, the payment was pending yesterday but it's disappeared this morning 😔 I can't tell if the payment is still being held or has been released back to my account.

Is it the fragrance one or the beauty one that you've bought? I hope they don't cancel them 😭

The fragrance one. The money was pending for me but that pending payment has now gone and my balance hasn’t gone down so looks like the money is back in my account

That's so weird. I paid using Paypal. Just checked my bank account and the money went out on Wednesday..

In case it's of interest to anyone I signed up to the Anthropologie waitlist and competition to win an advent calendar a couple of days ago. To do this they make you sign up properly and join their loyalty programme.

This morning they sent me a welcome voucher for £20 off an order. Can only be used on full price items and not with any other offer but there is no minimum spend. Voucher was valid until 09/10. Doesn't say anything about excluding the advent calendar.

Anyway I bought something for £20 which I got for free and just paid the £3.95 postage.

I literally just came here to say all this. I was already a member of Anthropologie perks, but its the first voucher / discount I've been sent in ages.

Interesting. I assumed it was a new member thing but I guess not.

Strange that the pending payments seem to have disappeared from everyone’s accounts for the fragrance calendars. I was reassured that my order is still showing as successful when I contacted them about this yesterday so hopefully our orders won’t be cancelled. 😐
