@MiracleToast - I had an old tunic/dress mended by Toast around the frayed contrast trim neckline, but they didn’t do a particularly good job - just folded it over and stitched in the sort of chain stitch I was taught in the Juniors. (Just remembered the owl cushion I made aged 9 - I was so slow/rubbish that an exasperated Mr B finished it off for me!)
I haven’t felt like wearing it since - I genuinely could have done better myself as it’s all uneven and looks awful.
However, DSis has had a few things invisibly mended - mostly jumpers - and they have all been done very well.
Less successful was a ‘creative’ mend Toast did on some ripped pjs. (This was before they asked if you wanted an invisible or creative mend.)
She ended up with a clump of bright orange thread - just a few embroidered blobs - on the pjs. It looked really weird, made worse as the mending thread was too heavy for the very thin cotton of the pjs.
I agree that it’s an excellent service, but based on our experience, the quality of the repair can be variable.
