I need to buy an outfit for a wedding so I was interested to see this Guardian article. But dear God the first one they list can only be described as a sack! Wedding guest outfits

Thank you for asking, I was responding to earlier comments suggesting she was a young intern. For what it’s worth I’m also in my 50s, but have not been the fashion editor for the Guardian for 25 years. 😊 what did you think my point was?

I was referring to the name of the person who wrote the wedding article and trying to be amusing. Silly me.

I've decided that the way the dresses are shown as if they've been cut out of a magazine and stuck in your scrapbook is not helping at all.

I do applaud the effort to show something different from the usual, but this didn't hit the mark.

Oh god, me too. Not confused enough to wear many of these dresses though - that would need a full on breakdown.

God what unusual choices for the article. Literally none of these dresses are very nice 😂 Its like they picked the absolute worst dress from every retailer for the article.

I had trainer socks on today as couldn't find any plain ankle socks in my drawer and I did think they looked weird. Im happy ankle socks are the way to go.

A lot of them are really quite ugly and look as if they would be quite unflattering. There is some much nicer stuff around this season. It’s a bit baffling.
