Ginger Biscuit for me today. My fall, winter smells are officially out. I love my fall perfumes, my collection feels complete without being excessive and without many duplicates. I am usually done with that scent profile by January when I crave spring

I'm a fan of the autumn perfumes - this is when my perfume addiction really took off following being started on mounjaro last september which is really no coincidence as many people on GLP-1s report their cravings changing from mouth to nose!
Seriously debating whether to get a 10ml of bdk rouge smoking extrait. I'm tempted by the set of 3 (including that, gris charnel and pas ce soir) on BDK website for £107 but I can't justify the cost not with my MOT round the corner.

@IDontHateRainbows Is it you that likes Lush Turmeric Latte? I’ve just seen a Lush Christmas spoilers and looks like the Turmeric Latte perfume is coming back this year. I think it’s available from this Friday.

Yes - last year I deliberated and got a sample, by the time I had uhmed and ahed it was sold out or I'd moved on to other things. I'm not usually a lush fan but they are ok price wise so maybe I'll treat myself.

My Miller Harris samples have arrived. On first sniff Legato is really boozy, smells like rum with a bit of cherry (official notes are Cherry, amber and vanilla absolute). Also got Melody, which apparently rose and musk, but smells exactly like Parma violets to me, plus Myrica Muse and Hydra Figue.

I think my favourite on first impressions is Hydra Figue, but looking forward to trying them all properly.

SOTD is Rabanne Fame. I’d gone off it a bit but I’m liking it again now, must be the cooler weather. I’ve nearly finished my bottle though

no news from my Look Fantastic fragrance advent yet. I have contacted them several times, and always get generic response

"For now there does not appear to be any issues with the order and Shipment has been sent to the warehouse as a valid order to be dispatched.
This is currently in the dispatch process at the warehouse and will be shipped to you shortly. As soon as it has left the warehouse, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know it is on the way, along with any tracking details.

5 days later when I followed up

"I can see that your Lookfantastic The BOX Fragrance Advent 2025 UK is currently being kitted out for you, and we expect that this will be with you soon.
Once your Calendar has been dispatched you will receive an email to tell you it is on the way."

Granado Esplendor again for me today. I absolutely love it, I'm getting really into autumnal fragrances this year and this one feels so warm and cosy.

Montale Arabians Tonka this evening. Perfect gourmand for the moody weather slightly sweet, smoky, spicy, oudy.

So they don't have enough to fulfil the orders and it may arrive to me in middle of December? Hopefully not.

That's frustrating sounds like they sold out of the first batch and are trying to make more.

And that's fine if they do it before December. One year they were delivering advent calendars on 20th of December and I will be disappointed if it's history repeating itself. I will stay positive - I never had Look Fantastic advent before and this will shape my future view of the company. But if it don't get shipment notification by mid November I will dial up my complaining

I had this last year with a LF edit box, the dates kept changing then eventually after maybe 6 weeks they said they couldn't source some of the products and refunded the order. I guess there had been a stock control issue and they'd over sold the original batch.

I hope you still get the AC but it's possible they will eventually just refund.

This morning I have received two emails from Look Fantastic saying my advent calendar order has been cancelled as they have no stock. I'm really upset because this is the only fragrance advent calendar I had managed to order. It's weeks since I placed the order and I would have thought they should have known stock levels at the time of accepting orders.

I'm sorry. That's really rubbish. Doesn't look like @MiaN will be getting hers either. 😢

They have not cancelled it yet. Its just smelly water, don't be too upset. There is always fomo, but SpaceNK fragrance is yet to come. So is the fragrance shop.

The LF calendar was alright but not all that! If you like designer frag, keep an eye out for the perfume shop one which was really good last year for the price. Avoid the fragrance shop one which is half filled with rubbish/cheap filler scents despite the higher price tag.

I'm eagerly awaiting the space nk one - they have not even mentioned it yet on their website so I hope it is definitely happening this year. Seems a few places release the frag cal later than the beauty one I bet they are hoping people will get both but can't afford both at the same time so stagger them out.

Poor show by LF I reckon they underestimated how popular it would be and/or they have a shit system for ordering.

Really getting into Ex Nihilo Spiky Muse today which is not my usual scent - it's quite zingy and fruity but I really like it.

Trying YSL Opium today which I got a mini of in one of the ACs.
It's nice but a bit generic. I do like designer frag sometimes, especially when you don't want the challenge of an unusual niche, but I remember reading someone say they all kind of smell similar. It's an easy enough choice though when you just want something comforting.

Also tried Miller Harris Scherzo which was in an AC . It's rosey-oudy, not two of my fave notes on their own but can combine quite nicely. I'm a fan of ELDO nostos which was in a former Harrods AC- that is the queen of rosey ouds - this is lighter and more floral but in the interests of widening my palate (nostrils) I have given it a spritz to see.

That’s rubbish from LF, perhaps they should have given fewer out free to influencers. They may have been able to honour paid orders. I absolutely agree about Perfume Shop, I didn’t get it last year but I had it in 2023 and thought it was great.

I'm late with SOTD, Gris Charnal. Which is growing on me. This evening I’ve tried again with PDM Orianna from last years Harrods frag AC. It’s much nicer than I remembered at first spray. I’ll see how it settles down.

Has anyone tried PDM Valaya and can describe it? I got it in the Harrods AC but don't want to open it if it's not one I'll get on with as it's in a sealed box.

I haven't opened my Valaya yet but I did try my friend's when I was deciding what to keep. I think it was quite a peachy floral from memory - very feminine. I did really like it.

The Miller Harris Scherzo was in the LF calendar wasn't it? I think that was one that I liked. I need to go through the AC again. On first sniff I liked maybe a third and the rest ranged from okay through to nope.

Yes - it is and it's grown on me - dried down into something lovely.

Think I'll sell the Valaya on - I've got my eye on the cherry version of black opium - black opium over red - and my new thing is that I sell a bottle to buy a bottle, so I will put the Valaya up as collatoral.

Also heard it smells like MFK 724 which is far too citrussy for me, I'm over the zingie freshies especially now we are going in to Autumn. Actually scratch that, it's full on Autumn now.

Yes I wouldn't describe Valaya as an autumn scent. If I had to categorise it I'd say it was a spring scent.
