Falling in love with ganymede so that's on again today. Just a shame it was a dab on not spray bottle.

It really is nice 😍

Dior J'adore for me today. It's sunny here, so I wanted something golden and sparkly 🤩

Magpiecomplex · 28/08/2025 19:34

Histoire de Parfums 1725 today, I've been channeling Casanova supposedly. It's a bit unusual, lavender and anise, but it's nice for this sort of can't decide what it's doing weather.

Not decided on the perfume du jour, but have cancelled my fragrance shop advent calendar once the contents were revealed - there was not much in there I fancied and a few padder-outers with the less well known brands. Have my eye on the LF frag cal now which releases on 1st sept and looks a lot better for the price. Also will try and get the perfume shop one which is ridiculously good value at £90.
Meanwhile I've ordered a 10ml sample of alto astral which was only £26 from fragrance samples uk - they have good ratings as I was a bit suspicious at the price for a byredo but maybe they are buying the massive bottles to make it work. Shall see. It is a gorgeous scent but I wouldn't want, nor could afford, the full bottle so this is a good way to try it.

I'd like to try some of the fragrances in the Harvey Nicks fragrance calendar, not enough to buy it though so I'll see if I can pick up some on ebay. I need to have another look at the Look Fantastic one.

Oh and I've chosen scent of the day now, its mojave ghost.

Hello I’ve fallen off here, due to work, life and not wanting to buy the spring/summer kits without good reason…

however I’m now up for advent calendar season! Not sure HN frag is for me, though I loved last year, and I think I’ve missed Harrods for the moment. Everything has some good-ok repeats.

So- any predictions of other kits/ advents that lean perfume? I have the perfume shop & cult on my list to watch out - I might make my own calendar with perfume and beauty kits.

RoseTeaLady · 29/08/2025 11:26

SOTD is Jo Malone Beach Blossom because I refuse to accept that it’s 15 degrees and I’m wearing layers.
In August 🙄

QueefofSheena · 29/08/2025 11:55

I seem to be the only person who likes the Sisley Campagne from the Liberty scent edit

I think Liberty contains the most fragrance this year out of the multi beauty calendars.

SpaceNK are releasing a separate fragrance calendar but there's no details as yet.

Lookfantastic are doing a fragrance one for the first time this year. It's a 24 day one and it's releasing next week on the 1st Sep. I predict it will sell out fast as it's going to be in the £100-120 range I think.

OvaHere · 29/08/2025 12:40

SOTD is Angel's Share. I actually went upstairs with the intention of putting on Alto Astral, got distracted, forgot and ended up spraying this one.

Like @RoseTeaLady I was intending to prolong summer with a summery scent but instead I now smell cosy and autumnal.

I’m yet to try it, but I have tried Comme des Garçons Copper and that one is really not for me! If anyone would like my little bottle (it has a stopper and not a spray) then please message me.

IDontHateRainbows · 30/08/2025 12:50

Strange, so many from the scent edit I was not a fan of, im really a vanilla/ gourmand/ spicy/oudy girl although recently added white floral to the list of likes.

Eagerly awaiting my alto astral sample and getting my stopwatch ready for LF frag cal release on 1st sept.

Sotd ch good girl, again

The Granado perfume from the Liberty AC I bought on Vinted arrived today. It really smells like Vanilla Powder to me, maybe a tad sweeter. Like it a lot.

IDontHateRainbows · 30/08/2025 22:13

I didn't get a similarity to vanilla powder at all if anything more like a bourbon vanilla or vanilla 28. There's some floral in there too.

Passed selfridgs today and undoubtedly the boozy deep cherry I've been looking for is one I already knew, bdk rouge smoking extrait. Just my luck, its bloody expensive but I've found a sample service doing 10ml for £42 with discount.
I won't order it yet though, will wait until we go until Autumn. I still have alto astral on order.

To be fair I don't have a very sophisticated or nuanced sense of smell. I could never turn perfume into a career! There's a quite a few perfumes that smell the same to me that others disagree on.

It doesn't smell as much like VP after a few hours but initially to me it was very similar.

IDontHateRainbows · 31/08/2025 08:26

Oh dear, bdk launching a new set of 3 x 10ml extraits and rouge smoking is one of them along with gris charnel and pas ce soir.
Never been a fan of pas ce soir anx gris charnel I prefer the original although the extrait is ok.
Debating whether to go for that and try and sell the other 2. It's £107.

OP posts:
IDontHateRainbows · 31/08/2025 09:44

Realised you can buy the 2ml extrait direct from bdk, at 20 inc postage for 4, so that's 8ml for £20 right there! Far cheaper than sample services.

Tried brompton immortals from the Harrods AC today and like it. It starts off quite masculine/ aftershave selling but settles into a spicy vanilla combo with a hint of patchouli.

Feels weird opening a full bottle I've not tested before. I'm being sure to read the scent profiles beforehand though, and any that I really don't like the look of will sell on.

@IDontHateRainbows I’ve just seen an email from Miller Harris about their new fragrance, Legato. The notes are cherry, amber and bourbon vanilla, thought it might be something you might like.

Ill see if they do samples, thanks. Still wowed that bdk do the 2ml extrait samples so cheap and no restrictions on quantity do i could theoretically get 8x 2ml or 12 x 2ml if I love it and just wear it that way. Have started with 4 so we'll see!

Sotd is the new jpg divine elixir I picked up a sample of. It's very salty. I like a bit of salt to balance out a sweet perfume but this is salt on steroids. So its a no from me.

Anyone else setting their alarm for the look fantastic frag cal release tomorrow? I hope it goes on sale before I am at work.
Big hoo haa in the office when harrods frag went on sale as my colleague was getting one too. They'll think we are both nutters!

OP posts:
OvaHere · 31/08/2025 21:46

@IDontHateRainbows I'm not getting it but am interested to see how it sells. I'm expecting it to sell out. Not sure it will rival Harrods for speed of sell out but it's a good price. I had an email saying set my alarm for 7am.

QueefofSheena · 31/08/2025 22:05

I’m resisting the LF frag cal. I’ll probably get HN though, unless SNK has more I want. Not sure when they are releasing details though.

I’ve sold a few 7/8ml duplicates from the Scent edit on Vinted and wondered if any of you lot were buyers 😁
