Only space nk who do exclusively frag cal I think. Last year it had loads of trendy fragrance enhancer types so hoping this year is better.

Not seen any byredo listed anywhere
Last year they were in most of them.

That's a good point. I was expecting a Byredo in HN. This year they've all struck deals with Matiere Premiere.

SOTD has been Fugazzi Angel Dust from the scent kit. Like this one a lot and it lasts pretty well.

I can only hope so. I love mat prem, although not so much the florals. I think crystal saffron or santal austral both of which I love are a bit too out there for the general audience of an Addy Cal so they play it safe with vanilla powder.

Speaking of byredo I'm currently huffing on mojave ghost and its a lovely scent for evening.

Penhaligons are temporarily bringing back five discontinued classics - Violetta, Zizonia, Bayolea, English Fern and Lavandula.

I wore Violetta years ago and still have a bottle, so I don't think I'll be getting anything. If they brought back Cornubia, however, that would be a different matter!

I impulsively bought the new Byredo Alto Astral on offer (still expensive). I couldn't even wait for @IDontHateRainbows to have a sniff for me on Friday. 😳

I don't usually blind buy scents that aren't travel sizes but after reading Fragantica reviews I convinced myself I would love it. It's arriving today so this will either be a delightful surprise or a costly mistake.

Oh wow - that's risky! I hope you like it.
Yes, looking forward to going to Liberty tomorrow - although I should leave my credit card with someone so it's definitely a window shop!

Also ordered the new liberty traveller kit, it's mainly beauty but has 5 of the teeny size samples from the LBTY range. Shame it's not a bigger one, but then again it's a gamble when they put one big sample in if you don't like it.

That should keep me going until the addy cal is dispatched later this month. Got it for £30 off (£20 bd credit, £10 bd discount)

scent of the day - I went for two.

DS Durga Radio Bombay on one hand - this is an unusual, slightly spicy scent that I can't quite describe. Lovely now and then for a change
other hand - mojave ghost. Getting in to this again but it's not got much longevity. I know they do an absolu but it's not quite the same as the OG

It arrived. First impressions - it's not exactly what I thought but I like it a lot.

First notes are strongly coconut then it dries down to a pretty realistic sea water scent, reminds me of rock pools. Once settled the powdery sweet coconut comes to the fore again mixed with the sea water.

It was a risky purchase but I'm not sorry I bought it. It's a more sophisticated version of some of the cheaper summer beach scents I own.

Sounds lovely. Ill be making a bee line for it in liberty tomorrow.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts. I've seen it compared to Vanilla Powder and whilst it's definitely a different scent I know what people mean.

Within 20-30 mins of spraying it settles down into something that is reminiscent of VP but coconuttty. I know you love VP too so I'd be surprised if you don't like this. You'll need to give it 30 mins following a skin spray though to get the full effect.

I'm hoping not to love it too much as can't afford any more! It sounds like quite a summery scent and I'm quite seasonal with my perfume, would you say its summery or an all year rounder?
Vanilla powder id say is season- neutral.

I'd probably wear it all year round especially after it settles in the dry down. It does lean more summery though.

I think it might only be available at SpaceNK as an exclusive at the moment outside of the Byredo site. So you may not find it at Liberty. Can't remember if there is one nearby. Only one I can think of is near Harrods.

I've actually got my eye on the new van cleef and arpels cherry scent. Someone mentioned it on here recently. I've got a massive thing for deep, dark cherry scents at the mo- preferably with vanilla and /or almond thrown in.
I love TF lost cherry but not sure I'd buy a full bottle. Also considering BDK Rouge smoking extrait. The normal rouge smoking is lovely but not quite deep enough for what I'm looking for.

Hi (sorry, lurker again!) @IDontHateRainbows have you tried Cherry Oakee by Saltworks? It sounds right up your street! It’s similar to Lost Cherry but a bit deeper and longer lasting. It has an almond note and is a little smoky. They do 10ml bottles for £25 with free delivery, I have a £5 voucher code that I could send you if you fancy trying it.

Let us know what you think of it if you do get it? I sprayed it on my wrist last night and can still smell it this morning! I only sampled Lost Cherry but found the name pretty apt, as it disappeared very quickly on me!

Hope you’ll like it! Last time I ordered from Saltworks it took them a few days to post it, but arrived pretty quickly after that!

Tropical rainstorms here today, feels really cosy and gloomy, I love it. So I’m trying nest indigo which wasn’t working for me in the heat as I’ve missed it. It just doesnt smell the same any more

IDontHateRainbows · 08/08/2025 12:53

Been on a binge this morning as WFH! Lesedi la rona vi, juliette vanilla vibes and prada infusion de vanille... not at the same time though.

Also tried a sample of santal blanc by vca. Not a great fan to be honest.

Looking forward to my visit to the liberty fragrance lounge later.

I tried Molecule + Iris today, and also Alto Astral. M+I is very nice, a musky floral, but doesn't give the Cosmetics-to-Go 'Ginger' vibe which I was hoping for, that someone here or on another thread mentioned?

Alto Astra is also nice - agree with the poster above who mentioned rockpools and coconut. The coconut element reminds me a lot of Radio Bombay, though AA is softer and sweeter. Not for me, but a very pretty scent.

Still havering about whether to get a full bottle of DS&G's Jazmin Yucatan - not cheap, but the only jasmin I've ever liked and so good for summer.

They do a mini version in the kit of 6, worth a look if you want to explore others in the brand?
I have it, its lovely but not my favorite ds

Ooh yes I liked JY very much, it smells exactly like jasmine tea to me.
