Yesterday’s SOTD was PdE Wazamba, one of my favourite summer frags.

Found an old sample of Tauerville Incense Flash last night, splashed a little on and decided I loved it so googled it and found it was discontinued 😕

SOTD is Nest Indigo (Thank you @IDontHateRainbows ) ☺️
I like this. A bit sharp and green on me at first - I guess that’s the citrus and fig. Dry down is soft, sweet and woody. Will be very nice later in the year I think.

@IDontHateRainbows I've been stalking eBay for months, hoping that someone will be selling the little Jazmin Yucatan!

Have you tried sample services eg perfumista a lot will do 10ml samples

Just be sure to read reviews / trustpilot I think the one to avoid is scent samples

Just had some samples delivered today. Testing Initio Absolute Aphrodisiac - smells like a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream or ice cream with a hot chocolate sauce. Castoreum is listed as a note but it doesn’t smell animalic at all to me. A nice, cosy cold weather scent.

Managed to try Alto Astral today and it is rather lovely. It's quite subtle, leans summery but doesn't scream beach or whatever.

It's nothing like mo ghost in terms of scent profile but it reminds me of mo ghost in terms of the subtle, sweet but alluring aspects.

Ill be watching to see if sample services pick this one up as id consider a 5ml or so.

I agree it has something of Mojave Ghost about it. I don't think it's quite as good but certainly the sort of scent I really enjoy.

I let my frag head friend try it out and she was impressed too.

I think Alto Astro is lovely but there's something a bit too sweet for me, I don't think id want a full bottle. I can see myself getting sick of it quite easily, its nice in short doses but put it this way my wallet is safe.
Just as well as very expensive weekend in the big smoke!

This is quite a good deal for 17.50. Anyone tried this brand? I've seen them in a few places now.

I have heard of them but they 're not ever so well known and I've never tried them myself. Maybe look on reddit r/fragrance?

It is a good deal and 2ml is a decent size for tinies

@trainedopossum I don’t know why Tauer discontinued the excellent and reasonably priced Tauerville Flash perfumes. I have Rose Flash and Vanilla Flash, and like them both a lot - for a rose fan like me Rose Flash is particularly good.

SOTD was PDM Meliora. Far less popular than Delina or Valaya, but actually my favourite PDM.

@OvaHere theyre an Australian brand and I used to have a bottle of Muse. Unfortunately most if not all of their creations are dupes but they market themselves as an original, niche fragrance house. For that reason I’m not a fan although most of their scents do smell nice.

Another sample today - One Day Taipei. This is so delicious and nostalgic for me. I’m half Thai and this smells so much like traditional thai coconut and tapioca pudding, slightly sweet and salty.

From Fragrantica: Top notes are Rice, Taro and Soy Milk; middle notes are Iris and Guaiac Wood; base notes are Musk, Sandalwood and Vetiver.

I have a few more samples from One Day to try, really intrigued by this house.

today I've gone for DS and Durga Radio Bombay - this is one I wasn't sure about at first so definitely a grower. It's spicy but more a metallic, cold spicy than a warm cardamom/cinnamon type of spicy. Love it in short doses!

I also have the liberty sampler which I got in the latest kit - with 6 of the liberty fragrances in 1.5ml size. Have put it in my desk at work for cheeky office spritzes (or more likely, will use on my lunch break so as not to stink the place out)

Alto Astral again today. Need to justify this very indulgent purchase.

Sampled Liberty Zepherine today. One for the fig lovers. It's quite spicy and zingy, a freshie figgy, not sweet at all. Quite like it for a change but increasingly realizing freshies are not my thing all in all.

Looking forward to autumn and the return to heavy gourmands, spice and smoky ouds.

Another from the liberty sampler today. Vine theif . Didn't like it at first but the dry down is lovely so I was getting in to it eventually. Not usually a fan of strawberry notes. Shame the sample are so tiny!

I have a Vine Thief sample from one of the BD boxes. I don't hate it but it's not one I would purchase I don't think. Maze has been my favourite of all the Liberty perfumes so far. I would consider buying that one.

I have combined Chanel Allure with Miss Dior - it's created like a warm, spicy floral mix which smells cozy and autumnal, it'll be perfect for next month.

I'm going to spray a bit of Gucci Gardenia over it soon to bring it back to summer 😁

Out of the LBTY scents I’ve tried maze, hera reigns, ianthe oud, wild rosinda and zepherine. All in various edits or samples. I passed them all on actually except wild rosinda which I loved but it’s a total wintery scent for me. It’s a really well done rose, deep and woody. If you’re the type of person that likes halfeti; it’s that type of frag. Maze I totally despised for some reason and actually physically recoiled from it! Strange..
