Sampling Creed Wind Flowers today. Instant headache. Very 'perfumey', white floral, powder, musk.

Realised sunset hour whilst smelling lovely, makes me react quite badly with itchiness and sadly can't use it on my skin, so it's clothing or pillow only.

Continuing with dear polly today. Away from home so a limited assortment to choose from. There's a very dangerous looking perfume shop in the city I'm staying in which does amouage sample sets. It's rare to find sample sets in shops so I'm thinking do I don't I... luckily it was closed when I went by so maybe I just need to avoid that area til we leave on Thursday!

Profumum Roma Acqua Viva today, a photorealistic lemon scent. Smells exactly like the oil you get from squeezing a lemon rind. Tart and uplifting, I love it.

Just picked up a travel Size on vinted for 8 quid. Now have to sit on hands for MMM untitled.

I tried another couple of the Nishane X kit on holiday but they didn't really make an impression. I'll have to try them again.

Since I came home, I've just been wearing Luna, which is definitely my main scent of this summer.

I do like tobacco in theory although it’s often combined with sweet notes and I’m not big on sweet smells. I like the smell of cigarettes in the packet, burning cigars and pipe tobacco.

Tjan, I’ll ll have to try them. I’m really not a vanilla person but I love smoke.

Hoping lush reintroduce turmeric latte this autumn, loved it last year but not enough to get a fb only a sample.

Been mainly on the dear polly this holiday, also took a small sample of ds durga I dont know what which seems better than I remembered, not usually a fan of the iso e enhancer types.
Thinking about autumn scents already despite it being the last day of July.... it'll soon roll round!

@IDontHateRainbows I subscribe to the monthly Lush shower box and there is a turmeric latte shower gel coming in the September box. I’ve heard good things about the scent so looking forward to trying it.

I succumbed to the amouge discovery set, not seen it on sale in this country and it was €37 for 4 x 2ml

I’m seriously considering getting another Liberty scent kit with some of my BD credit instead of the AC. I really like most of the scents, apart from Bibbi.

Do it, no rule on how many you can buy.
I loved the idea of this scent set but as I've said before, too many similar type scents. I did manage to shift all the ones I didn't want though, keeping sun Rae and avant L'orage.

Hoping they do a more varied kit next time.

I'm on board the ferry returning from my jaunt abroad and will be visiting duty free for some cheeky spritzes! Prices aren't actuamy lower than what I can get with a discount code/ freebies online so not tempted to buy anything but I'll be taking advantage of the opportunity to have a play....

Sampled a myriad of designer frag at duty free. The only one which I would rate was ysl black opium, easy enough to get Sample size should I feel the need. Also special mention to tf eau de soleil blanc.
Tried loads of others before my nose got confused, despite being duty free there was nothing cheap in there and a few things more expensive than a simple internet search for reduced/ offer with VAT!
Probably a good thing. I Already have enough and wasn't looking to buy just window shopping.

Not got to that one yet but enjoying the Guidance.
Woody-floral-fruity blend. Feels like some citrus in there, but subtle.

Will pace myself before I try the next one which is purpose.

Glad to hear that as I hate fragrance being gendered. If it smells good anyone should feel they can wear it.

Sampling Erba Pura today, fruity (I smell tropical fruits but I think it’s supposed to be Mediterranean) with a heavy dose of musk. I’m not sure what musk this is specifically but it’s overpowering and synthetic smelling especially in the dry down. I think it’s the same musk / synthetic in 1 million.

Also got my monthly scentbox sample, montale intense cafe. It has that very distinctive montale feel, oud and sweet with rose. Quite like it. All montales I've tried do seem very similar. Not as coffee like as I expected

@IDontHateRainbows a friend decanted me some Guidance 46. I like it but it's quite overwhelming. I didn't spray a lot and it was still too full on. I'd like to try the original as it might be more my speed.

L'Occitane Verveine today, very much enjoying the zingy citrus.

Still enjoying the amouage guidance although the tiny 2ml sample is nearly finished - I am not very good at making them last. Seen how much the full bottles are and lets just say I'm sticking with samples!

On the advent calendar thread there is talk of the wait list for the Harrods AC opening on monday or tuesday. This one sold out in hours I think so i'll be setting my alarm. Although I do remember a lot of them being on ebay and over priced before christmas before the prices came down in new year if they hadn't sold - I picked up a couple then. So if I don't manage to get my mitts on one now it can be a new year treat. A lot of people say the harrods one is too oudy but I liked last years offerings - in particular I enjoyed Nostos by ELDO and lesedi la rona vi by Graff.

(incidentally, took me ages to realise that ELDO is the short form of etat libre d'orange! Always thought it was two different brands)

In other news, I managed to snaffle up a wonderful bargain as I got the carolina herrera AC from last year for £38 on ebay - it was selling at least 3 times that before christmas. There's no very good girl elixir in there which is my favourite, but the large mini size original GG, and VGG along with blush. Also some bad boy minis and others which I will sell on - should easily make my money back.
