When I'm usually more Mrs M&S ( nothing usually wrong with M&S) I just want a different look.

Happy with a Vinted bargain too.

OP, I think the green dress from Vinted looks really good.I hope you enjoy the day.

All Saints make fab dresses, I always find something there.

That green dress will be fine for June, @Goodfaith especially with bare arms.

Flatform sandals and a raffia bag with a solid frame or handle. Gold hoops and pink lip and nails

Owww, that has made me think…it could look quite understated couldn't it.

Thanks so much for your ideas to accessorize it. I can see it!

Some great other ideas too.

You could try the mango outlet website.

they always have nice dresses for a more reasonable price compared to the main mango site.

only thing is they may be from previous seasons / older stock.

Kemi Telford. Fabulous skirts or dresses. Make me feel a million dollars in them. If you're close to London, you can make a private appointment at her studio near Sutton.

I've looked at Kemi Telford before now as Arit Anderson presented from RHS Chelsea in some of her dresses. Glorious ( but maybe too ‘much’ for me, being quite petite).

Oh I love the green Vinted dress too. I’d go for that.

MarxistMags · 11/04/2025 00:44

It's hideous !

It's hideous !

And it’s got stains on it

Know your size.

Have you looked at Mint Velvet? My DM is a bit like you with primarily sticking to M&S. But for more dressy options she's gone for Mint Velvet. She actually was introduced to it by her local John Lewis, who have a styling service and stock that brand. A bit pricier, but some good items.

Gosh, @Goodfaith - that green dress on Vinted is vile! Neither cool nor glam. Awful sweaty material, will hang heavily limp on a hot day. Deeply depressing colour.

I can’t imagine anyone with £200 to spend wasting any of it on that.

(BTW, the links above were suggestions of sites to explore - not just the three items shown.)

Cos in particular meets all your criteria for - it’s almost impossible not to look well dressed in their clothes. Or a Me and Em frock from the current season - where the glamour comes from wearing something very new and up to date.

thelondona2z · 11/04/2025 05:28

this is also nice from Ganni / Vinted.

Also someone mentioned La Veste up thread. Their clothes are so lovely, I’d wear them to everything everywhere if I could (and could fit into them as they come up teeny).
