When I'm usually more Mrs M&S ( nothing usually wrong with M&S) I just want a different look.

Happy with a Vinted bargain too.

What age, size, height?

If you can't get something here, I'll eat my lemon drop earrings.

Have you got pics of your usual style/put together outfits? So we have a base to go from because I bet my style and jennys from next door are vastly different....

Budget? Preferences?

Goodfaith · 10/04/2025 15:40

Oops, apologies, more details needed!

Size 8
5ft 3
Olive colouring
Budget, up to £200 but less if possible.( I often buy good brands for much less than that from Vinted).

My usual style is very typical loose ditsy dresses and trainers, or a collared dress for work.

Prefer mid calf but happy to shorten anything that might be floor length, to suit little me!

Family members are young and wear the latest trends (fast fashion). I wear a real range of brands, from Topshop to And/Or. Like good fabrics.

Christening is end of June.

Saw this at a recent Christening and thought it looked very cool! It’s also a bargain.

Like it, but maybe too..mmm, Pollyanna for this occasion. 🤔

And looking at the photo on the website, a bit too busy. I can about manage patchwork but not the pattern within each patch too.

Did you mean this And /Or, @Goodfaith?

https://andorcollective.com/collections/spring-2025

As there doesn’t seem much there.

Anyway … I’m 5’3 - I wouldn’t touch anything with a huge, ‘blousey’ print. Are you only thinking of dresses or would you consider separates? And how formal / informal?

And/Or at John Lewis. I have a fab black 100% cotton dress from there, tiered, button up, frill edged sleeve.

I usually wear dresses, but would consider seperates. I really like some if the coords that Amanda Holden wore on her recent Spanish house renovation programme.

Other family members will be ‘glam’ in a formal sense.

Thank you for helping.

interesting, cool, well dressed could mean this:

Gorgeous colour.

For me, sleeves and print feel like they would drown me.

I quite like this though …perhaps a little bit different…🤔https://roandzo.com/products/scarlett-lilac-twist-neck-maxi-dress

Your choices are really cool. They are the sort of cool I admire on others, cool, interesting…but I'm not sure I could carry them. It takes a confidence.

I also don't want black ( our most recent family event was a funeral).

I like the pink dress you picked out, OP. It's very glamorous!

If you were thinking more edgy fashion-wise, I'd suggest a look at Sister Jane. They're best at short dresses, but here are some knee-covering examples.

Kemi Telford. Fabulous skirts or dresses. Make me feel a million dollars in them. If you're close to London, you can make a private appointment at her studio near Sutton.

Oriunda · 10/04/2025 19:45

Also check out a brand called Metamorphoza ..... The Elegant Stylist insta page introduced me to them. Their red dress is gorgeous. Edgy and dramatic. https://www.instagram.com/metamorphozafashion?igsh=MW92ZDNraWt1NGdhNg==

It would look grim on me as I am ginger! Sorry didnt mean to make it all about me....

Mulledjuice · 10/04/2025 19:48

That green dress will be fine for June, @Goodfaith especially with bare arms.

Flatform sandals and a raffia bag with a solid frame or handle. Gold hoops and pink lip and nails
