Marine Collagen - THANK YOU! ♥️

MNetters are amazing, thank you!

Since giving birth to my last child almost thirty years ago, my hair just got thinner and finer. Menopause was the killer - it just got worse and worse…I could clearly see my scalp, particularly around my hairline and parting. Over the years, I’ve spent £££ on shampoos, conditioners, pills, serums…you name it.
At the beginning of the year, I saw a thread on here & marine collagen was recommended. I decided to give it a go, and at just over 3 months in, my hair is definitely thicker and the density is very noticeable. Good condition too.
THIS STUFF WORKS!
This is the one I purchased- I didn’t like it stirred in drinks, so I take it in the morning in porridge.
Thanks lovely people of MN for a brilliant recommendation!

Ok ladies. I'm trusting you.

Bovine collagen ordered.

Which one did u go for? I'm scared!!

Christwosheds · 12/04/2025 19:16

I use marine collagen, but there hasn’t been any improvement in my hair at all.
Maybe I should try bovine ?

Jollyjoy · 12/04/2025 20:17

I do enjoy a ‘MN made me buy it thread’! I’m wondering if anyone has seen an impact on eyelashes? I’ve lost a clump in one eye and wondering what I can do to help them grow back. They’ve never been that thick but I’d just like a few in the bald spot!

RosaMoline · 09/04/2025 14:10

I stir it into porridge & I can’t tell it’s in there if that helps!

Thank you for that recommendation as I had a tub of the stuff languishing in a cupboard, unlikely to be used! I’ve tried it with porridge and it tastes fine!

Smittenkitchen · 12/04/2025 21:30

My pelvic floor physio told me to take collagen to improve pelvic floor muscle tone.

Thisismynewname23 · 12/04/2025 21:38

I tried absolute collagen first… the taste was just horrendous then I switched to ancient and brave it’s brilliant no taste and my hair which thinned when I started methotrexate (chemotherapy) is so much thicker I finally have new hairs coming through too, I didn’t know to take it with vitamin c so I will add that… also keen to try the flaxseed and Tumeric I’ll be ordering them!

the uklash serum worked wonders on my daughters lashes she pulled them out when she was stressed and they grew back so long so she had to stop using it they are long and much thicker than before, miracle stuff!

Does it taste or smell fishy at all? I’m interested in giving it a go but would probably prefer capsules to powder that you mix into something. Is powder supposed to be better than capsules?

Revive beauty complex , 7000 collagen peptides for skin , hair & nails also amazing..
Have to take for 3 months before you see a difference, I’m very pleased with it & it’s orange & pineapple flavour ..😊

But, no one is posting a link to earn pennies from the disingenuous comment.
well, a link was posted 😂😂

still not brave enough to purchase anything as then it comes down to too much choice and I am beyond indecisive 🙄

This is my life. Any supplements.... Frustrate myself actually.

EsmeSusanOgg · 12/04/2025 22:23

I started taking marine collagen gummies (useless with the powders) earlier this year. My skin and hair are so, so much better. Seriously doubted if it would work - been blown away by the results.

EsmeSusanOgg · 12/04/2025 22:24

A lot of the mainstream pharmacies sell it.

WivVestwood · 13/04/2025 06:41

I would love to give collagen a try but I know that I would be useless with the powder. Are the capsules any good?

Smittenkitchen · 13/04/2025 07:07

I take capsules and you have to take 2 capsules 3 times a day, which feels like a lot. If you're good at taking tablets, it'd be okay!

motherofawhirlwind · 13/04/2025 07:25

I've been taking these as it's 2 a day which seemed manageable! Plus vit C built in. collagen tablets

Mommybunny · 13/04/2025 07:51

I’ve been taking 2 gummies of this one for about 2 months now. I like the gummies as I don’t have a consistent morning routine to mix them in coffee, I don’t always eat breakfast and I travel a lot.

My hairdresser has noticed my hair is fuller and healthier and I was just thinking last night that my skin looks damn good for 58.

I don’t really have any joint issues that I’m aware of and I don’t see much improvement at all in my soft breakable nails.

The Vitamin C content in 2 gummies is 24mg, should I be taking a separate supplement?

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 13/04/2025 09:08

How many capsules a day? I’ve just been taking one in a morning. My skin though is looking good. Funnily enough, I was taking some Hair and Skin capsules from Revolution, came in a beauty box, and my hairdresser noticed baby hairs growing. They I think were biotin and collagen.

RedBear88 · 13/04/2025 09:34

Do any of these help with the hot flushes? They got worse in the last few weeks.

Donsyb · 13/04/2025 11:17

Woodburnerisout · 09/04/2025 12:07

I'm sad! It did nothing for me, took it for months....

You might not have been taking a high enough dose. I’ve read you need at least 10,000 micrograms to make a difference (but don’t know if that’s true?)

ffsfindmeausername · 13/04/2025 12:12

I've not read the full thread but has anyone on here been taking the Holland and barrett bovine collagen tablets which is 3 per day? Are they any good and have you noticed any improvement? I've been taking them for almost a year now and other than having much healthier looking nails I can't really see much difference.

ilovesushi · 13/04/2025 13:03

I'm taking 4 capsules a day. Seems to be working for me.

dudsville · 13/04/2025 14:27

Wow, my tablets just arrived. Stupid question. The bottle says to take 3 a day, doesn't say to do so at 3 separate times or all together. Anyone else have better directions on their bottles?

I've got survey scars nearly 2 years old. My DH has surgery scars not two months old, and his look so much better than mine. I'm going to take a picture in the morning of my face and scars as a record.

IWasInSpaceJail · 13/04/2025 14:46

Hi all, I started taking marine collagen two weeks ago today. I’m early 50s and was so achy in my joints, but it seems to have all but gone already. Seriously impressed!

ffsfindmeausername · 13/04/2025 16:28

Dudsville, Is this the Holland&Barrett bovine collagen tablets? As mine are 3 per day and I was also unsure of if to take them separately or all 3 together. I initially started taking them separately but for the past 6 weeks or so I've been taking all 3 together with my evening meal. I'm not sure on which way is best and can't say I've noticed any difference either way.

Hi, thanks for responding. It's the H&B marine collagen.

That's disappointing. How long were you taking them before going for 3 all together?

mine are the bovine collagen and I've been taking for around 11 months. my nails have gone lovely and healthy looking and I've actually managed to grow them for the first time ever. not sure if seen much improvement in hair and skin though. slight joint aches but not sure how much worse things would be if I had never taken them so I find it hard to say if they've made a difference tbh. That being said I will continue to take them as I stocked up on the bogof offers. I'm late 40s.

Well, that's kept my hopes in check, which is probably a good thing.
