The next thread, royal style mavens! The title suggestion was from our last thread. Mary of Teck was never knowingly underdressed or less than bejewelled!

Haha having seen that I'd rather the men wear suits!

Following on from Sofia's graduation (a few posts back) in which both mother and daughter were a vision in red, here is Leti in a floral dress in Guadalupe. I'm going to say that the above red trouser suit is a far better look, although this is very summery. However, it's a bit of a busy design imo. I like the espadrille type sandals, although I know they're not favoured on here!

I like Leti’s dress.
Sophie was at the Royal Windsor Flower Show.

That velvet blazer doesn't quite go with Sophie's summer dress does it? It seems better for winter. Perhaps she just grabbed it on the way out as it was chillier than she'd expected!

Sophie and William looking rather “county” on a joint visit to the Royal Cornwall Show!

I like the look of Sophie's bag. Does anyone know where it's from?

Pallisers · 07/06/2025 20:54

That's a lovely lovely fabric in Leti's dress. Without being disparaging I think it would make a fabulous curtain!

I saved for a good while to have curtains made out of one of these fabrics and they are gorgeous.

Yes, @Pallisers , I know what you mean, it would be a good furnishing fabric!

The Grimaldis welcoming the Macrons. I think Charlene looks beautiful here, very elegant. Her outfit is quite pared down, and the pastel and white looks lovely. Nice to see the twins engaged in the visit.

I initially thought Char's jacket was a bit boxy, but I like the whole outfit. It all got very controversial with the Macrons, I know, but Brigitte is looking as sharp as ever in that trouser suit.

I think Mathilde has borrowed a hat from Max; Charlene and Brigitte looking very glamorous - and I would love to know what Albert has said to Charlene! Clearly something that he doesn’t want anyone else to hear or lip read, and she is trying not to laugh by the looks of things!

A Pringle adjacent hat! Go for it, Mathilde. I think Charlene looks very glamorous, although I don't like the hem of the dress. Brigitte looks chic, I think Leti has a similar dress in red. I wonder what Albert was whispering? 🧐

I like Leti’s dress and I think it’s important to note that the dress cost €54. Leti is far more budget conscious than most queens presumably as it’s not so long ago that the royal family was reinstated and there is a lot of anti royal sentiment in Spain. Charlene could wear couture everything for a whole year and the Monagesque press would not bat an eyelid.

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 08/06/2025 11:13

Yes she does often wear very affordable clothes.

On the other hand her wedding dress was wildly expensive; far more so than any European Royal IIRC. And I didn't think it was that nice!

Tbf cost was related to craftsmanship rather than style.

Maireas · 08/06/2025 11:19

I like Leti's Armed Forces Day dress. It's quite Kate, but I think it's summery without being overwhelmingly floral.
She does wear a lot of Carolina Herrera and Hugo Boss, as well as nore mainstream brands.

I'm on board with espadrilles in hot weather, as long as the occasion is casual enough. And it's Spain so I mean it's gotta be done...I've got a sunshine yellow pair that I love!

I’m assuming you mean the shirt dress a few posts up, rather than the almost £6k armed forces day Carolina Herrera dress!!

Although tbf she has worn that one more than once before.

And she does use Zara and the other Spanish high street brands a lot as well, so I don’t begrudge her the occasional spendy dress.

RockaLock · 08/06/2025 12:39

I’d imagine that Monegasques are maybe a bit more OK with Charlene wearing pricey stuff than we would be in the UK if Kate spent that sort of money, though, as there is no income tax in Monaco and so it’s not a case of “I’m funding their lavish lifestyle!!”

That's very true

KiIIingMeDeftly · 08/06/2025 13:46

Letizia and her daughters really fly the flag for the Spanish high street as they love Zara, Mango and Sfera. Sofia, especially, has a great sense of style - definitely one to watch in future.

The Monagasque royals do wear the most luxe brands but I doubt Caroline or Charlotte pay full price for their Chanel, or Beatrice for her Dior. Not sure how it works for Charlene though, or if she's allowed to accept discounts.

Did you see Sofia's graduation from college pics I posted upthread? She's wearing a red jumpsuit, you're right, she and her sister are ones to watch.

Wimbledon's coming up, so I suggest something tennis-themed!

AllTangledUpInDaisiesAndDiadems · 08/06/2025 15:07

Ohhh yes Tennis. Or Royal Run in honour of Fred's Birthday. Maybe something to do with Twerking?
