Barrel style jeans - wtf?

I've been seeing these all over the place and I just don't understand who would look good in them? Maybe it's because I'm short and on the dumpier side so can't imagine anything less flattering to me, but I don't think they look good on any of the advertising I've seen either? Am I officially old now?

Essentially they are just baggy jeans that go in abit towards the bottom.
I have several pairs of parachute pants, some tailored balloon trousers and I prefer my joggers to be wide and cuffed.
Barrel jeans might be abit more curved in the leg but they really arent that revolutionary a shape. I should of known by my previous trews that I would like them!

They're not actually baggy. They have structure. They've been engineered.

I love them, as they balance me out. I tall and slim but top heavy - my shoulders are the widest part of my body, and although I have a slim waist and flat stomach, I have no bum or hips to speak of and very thin legs.

Barrel-leg jeans transform me from an inverted triangle to an hourglass.

well, I prefer the ones that are abit baggy and have been just sewn together....not 'engineered'. (sorry, but that sounds abit wanky to me!).
