Here’s a new thread!

I received my Pen and Ink shirt today, totally agree with @Poplinskirt it’s lovely. I’m a busty 12 and ordered in my size and it’s a great fit with no gaping. I love the boxy cut and sleeve length, can’t wait to wear it.

Countmeout · 07/06/2025 19:59

I’ve just returned the front panelled check dress in a 12 if anyone is looking for it. It had randomly popped up one morning and is sold out. It managed to be too big and too small at the same time with very big arm holes.

Primrosespaw · 07/06/2025 20:04

Good to hear that the pen and ink shirt looks nice in person. Its the only thing I ordered in the new drop. I purchased the indigo twill Alix’s a few weeks ago and think they will team up well together. I have not been tempted by much recently but think it is because I am finally satisfied with my wardrobe. Everything fits and mostly natural textiles which fit current and hopefully future lifestyle. Shopping has slowed a lot, which is a relief for the wallet.

Bimblesalong · 07/06/2025 23:23

Also eyeing up the pen and ink shirt - beautiful design.

ToastCosILoveIt · 08/06/2025 02:08

It feels like the pen and ink shirt will be popular judging by this thread. Mine is ordered now too!

Bimblesalong · 08/06/2025 09:36

For once, I hope my order doesn’t arrive too soon as we are away for a few days! I’ve ordered the pen and ink shirt in a 12 which I’m hoping will fit. I had breast cancer surgery and chemo in the last year and am a combo of real and prosthetics. 12 was my usual size - it does look as if there will be some give around the chest fitting.

I struggle with trouser sizings and can never order online (similar with fixed waist skirts). I’ll have to have a good try on session once I’m on holiday with access to a shop!

Popplebop · 08/06/2025 13:27

And I also quickly ordered the pen & ink shirt when I first saw it as I loved it. Might be one of the only Toast items I ever see on someone else going by this thread! Coming tomorrow (I hope).

PeonyBlush10 · 08/06/2025 14:15

I’ve bought the Pen and Ink shirt too after reading this thread. I had no intention of purchasing this 30 mins ago !!
I do think it could be rather gorgeous especially if styled as a jacket as mentioned in one of the reviews.

Bimblesalong · 08/06/2025 15:24

It is going to become a secret mn toastista signal!

Poplinskirt · 08/06/2025 16:12

Haha it will be the new Pond

Dress is going back
Sad about the colours as its beautifully cut

However the nice new things have made me excited for Toast again and with renewed hope that they are paying attention to style, finishing and cut
I rather like the pleated cotton/linen dress in red, has anyone seen it yet?
Worry that it might be Handmaid red 😂

I'm going to order the Baya shirt in Indigo
It's an incredibly useful shape and perhaps a new nightie

Primrosespaw · 08/06/2025 16:59

@Poplinskirt i have the Baya indigo shirt along with two in cord. Some of the most useful items in my wardrobe. The indigo is gorgeous and has proved to be a good investment.

ScottishMouse · 08/06/2025 18:16

Thinking ahead to the sale, and wondering if there is anything I have overlooked that might be a good sale buy…
Dies anyone have the half placket denim cotton smock, and have anything to say about it? Thanks.

Thanks @Primrosespaw
I also have one in cord
Such a good shape
I'm pear shaped and balances me nicely .

I had forgotten about the sale, can't remember when it is but doubt there will be much to interest me @ScottishMouse

ScottishMouse · 08/06/2025 18:33

That’s what I think too @Poplinskirt , which was why I thought I would have a wee browse and look again at things from earlier in the year that I might have overlooked. That denim smock is kind of calling me.

Snowyowl78 · 09/06/2025 10:47

@Countmeout so sorry only just noticed your question! They are 36cm unstretched and they are a size Small. I’ve probably washed them 3 or 4 times though.

Re. The ink shirt- how would you wash this? As in, which load dark or white? Or alone?!

OrangeyLemon · 09/06/2025 11:39

I don't think there can be anything of interest for me in the sale, but I'm still excited about it! I'm vainly hoping for the re-emergence of the cross front Seed Pod block print dress. Do we think next week or the week after?

Mamamia35 · 09/06/2025 12:04

Came on to find a date for the sale starting. When will it be?

ScottishMouse · 09/06/2025 13:58

Last year it was Thurs 20th with early access from Tues 18th. But that said, the winter sale was a week later this year than last, as was one of the small weekend sales that happened over the last few months. So 🤷‍♀️

IlovePond · 09/06/2025 14:13

Hi all - if the yellow/gold/ochre tank top turns up - again - in the sale, I might give it another go. The one I ordered was much shorter than the one I had tried on instore, so it had to go back, but I still want one!

Btw: Has anyone seen Survivors- a new Australian drama on Netflix? I could swear that one of the main characters- Verity - was dressed in Toast in many scenes.

For example: The aforementioned yellow gold tank top, a cream bordered striped tank, a couple of stripy boatneck tees and the purplish swimsuit that turned up in every sale for several years! I was undecided on some of the trousers, but they also looked ‘Toasty’.

If anyone else has seen it, please let me know if you agree. I know Toast have at least one stockist in Australia, but it seemed so random!

Not sure if you addressing to the general thread but here goes
I always wash Toast shirts/ blouses alone
I wouldn't put it in with a general load but on its own on a delicates cycle .
I'm a very picky laundress

Snowyowl78 · 09/06/2025 14:20

@Poplinskirt thank you! Yes I meant to everybody!

Countmeout · 09/06/2025 17:05

Thanks @Snowyowl78 . That’s useful to know.

😁

I know it's a bit of a pain washing separately but it really keeps things looking nice, less wear and tear on that beautiful poplin .

Me too - I also never use biological washing powder on denim.

Has anyone ever bought anything from Soeur? I have seen the brand name, but never encountered it in the flesh until today. Saw a fab white top in a local boutique. Quite spendy but seemed decent quality. Anyone have any reviews?
